Introducing the Kaffelogic Nano 7, a high-precision coffee roaster designed to turn out freshly roasted coffee at the press of a button. As part of the roaster, the user is provided with software for creating and editing roast profiles, allowing complete control over the roasting process. The coffee is air-roasted to provide a clean, even roast, and an incredibly fast cooling process seals in the flavour.

Small, lightweight, easy to use, and easy to clean. It is ideal for home roasting or for sampling at your home, cafe or roastery. The device is easy to use. It is capable of roasting 100 grams at a time.
The process is as easy as pouring a certain amount of green coffee beans into the roasting chamber, selecting the roast level, and pressing start. Within 15 minutes, the pre-set roasting profile will do the rest, and you will have a batch of gorgeously aromatic fresh-roasted beans - 100 grams, enough to make six espresso double shots or ten cups of plunger coffee.

Been using this for about 8 months, very easy and straight forward to use. My first roaster and very happy! Great customer support also for newbie roasters from Kaffelogic.

wouldn’t the beans that are sitting closer to the heat still continuing roast during the cooling period?
@morningcoffee1

No, it actually cools down the beans in an ultra fast speed. From 225c to below 50c in less than 2 minutes. And the first 30 seconds it brings it down under the 100. Which is significant.

But more importantly what is the taste comparison?

Depends on the beans you are roasting and to what recipe - Thats all the fun!

What are the materials? Specifically the chaff collector? It looks like it's all plastic or even 3D printed plastic. I don't like the thought of heating up plastic

Chaff collector description pulled straight from Kaffelogic's website"black anodised aluminium chimney surrounded by an enameled black aluminium mesh, held together by a black nylon frame and lid." Hope that helps :)

So it's basically a temperature controlled popcorn roaster converted into a coffee roaster, but you pay over $700 for it!

Same same but different.. If I was on a budget wanting to roast, a converted popcorn maker is cool too. More than the specifications of the machines, I feel with coffee it really comes down to the coffee-moment, I love my Aeropress as much as some of the high end coffee machines I own. So I do see you point, I would still prefer the Kaffelogic tho.

Or, said another way, it's the temperature control from a $3,000 roaster scaled down to a $700 roaster with all the profiling control of professional equipment and a 200g capacity (way beyond the capacity of an air popper.)

Popcorn maker isn't designed to run at high temps for 10 plus minutes. Most are made of plastic and will not withstand the prolonged heat.

I've been using a cheap popcorn maker for 12 years, and only now is it beginning to struggle. Just don't use the plastic cover, a tin can makes a great chimney.
