Kagome Kagome is a japanese children's game where one person is the oni (demon) and sits down and covers their eyes. While the oni sits there, other children all join hands and form a circle around the oni. The children all holding hands then walk in a circle while singing the song. "Kagome Kagome Kago no naka no tori wa Itsu itsu deyaru Yoake no ban ni Tsuru to kame ga subetta Ushiro no shoumen daare" After the children are done singing the song, the oni is supposed to guess who is behind them. Then it's the next child's turn. What's creepy about it is that there are multiple interpretations for these words. i.e. Kagome can mean "caged bird" or "pregnant woman" One translation is "The caged bird When, oh when will it come out In the night of dawn The crane and turtle slipped Who is behind you now?" In the case of Kagome is interpreted as pregnant woman... "The pregnant woman When, oh when will the baby come out In the night of dawn" Since the crane and turtle are symbols of good fortune, the slipping of them implies misfortune (The unborn child and mother die) "Who killed my unborn child and I" So he is right about one child being in the center of a circle formed by other children and that the Nazi's did do some fucked up experiments back in the WWII era. But that's about it.
Ive heard of the Caged Bird one but I dont remember the "the crane and the turtle slipped". I might be remembering it wrong. I dont remember this part at all but I thought kids while singing the song are moving around or changing spots so the "oni" doesn't know who's behind them
_ *_-curly-_* *_-fries-_* no you’re right... it’s of a woman I think that had a child and killed her unborn child by almost dying and the woman was treated like a monster and she lurked for her child and was in grief. When they ask if who’s behind the ino, is that her dead son. At least we came up with a dark story later on
Some theories say this game was played by the poor families in japan, where the favorite or eldest child is the Oni, the child they guess behind is the child to be sold.

Super late, but I think this creepypasta is based on the Vocaloid song (the orphanage, the scientists, etc.), seeing the PV and all. Both is centered around an actual Japanese game, though.
When I heard him say no one survives if you say "yes" or "no", when they ask you to play, an old movie quote from Captain Jack Sparrow comes to mind: "No survivors? Then where do all the stories come from I wonder?" After all how can you know what has happened if everyone who has said "yes" or "no" has died?
@@kpopmultifan4277 it would make sense but how did we know that if you say "yes" or "no" you will die? I mean I don't think that there is even an actual trusted source that can verify any of what is said and I think that you shouldn't take it to seriously, I dont even think that the people who make this kind of videos do, they just do it for fun
Ayano Tateyama We missed every spook. We weren't even the least bit scared by this. So that's why we think that it was pointless when he said that we should've shitted our pants by now. because We didn't feel like we were going to shit our pants. Not one, little bit.
11:08 "The Russians were said to have left with a fearful haste, as if suddenly the air had turned too cold for their taste." Something tells me the Russians didn't skedaddle because of cold.
Yeap :3 Kagome game is 1 person in the center (covering his/her eyes) the other circle the person in the center and sing the song Kagome until it ends and the one who stops behind the center person hav to ask Who's behind u? If guessed wrongly... bad things will happen :) its normally a kids game though.... correct me if there is any mistakes >< bad at remembering things...
"♪Circle you, Circle you, You can't run so stay a while! Circle you, Circle you! They can't hear your screams for miles!♪" Anyone else addicted to the Vocaloid English Dub?
I don't think anyone noticed, but the thumbnail art from the Vocaloid, "Kagome, Kagome." Is turned into the black and white filter and the Kagome Kagome song is playing in the background? Love how MCP added the Kagome, Kagome art.
that is because that song is based off this story. Notice how some of the vocaloids have appearances to match the children in this story. EX: Missing arm and bandages.
Only thing I can think of is the old game Kagome Kagome 🎶Kagome kagome, the bird in the cage, when, when will you come out? In the evening of the dawn, the crane and turtle slipped. Who stands right behind you now?🎶
+Jessicatube, Emilytube & Racheltubetube you have one person in the center and they have to have their eyes covered, then you have a circle of people around the person in the center, you link hands and move whichever way, the person in the center has to guess who is behind them once you finish the song. It's basically a guessing game but in a much better way
the original and historical song of Kagome kagome actually is in Corpse Party. It's in the Bunker with the 2nd maze thing in Chapter 5 when the spirit shows you the right way. Kagome Kagome is an actual Japanese game, but it's not as morbid as this video says. a kid sits in the middle with his eyes closed, kids link hands and chant the chant around them, and when they finish, they stop moving and the middle kid tries to guess which person is behind them. the chant translated has a lot of different theories to what it means (because its kinda confusing, with birds in baskets, night time, turtles and cranes slipping), some saying that it's about the actual game itself, an execution, a prostitute, or my favorite, a pregnant woman who falls down a flight of stairs, has a miscarage, and she looks behind her to find out who is responsible for her child's death (sound a little familiar to the plot of corpse party? ;) ) if you look it up, you can find different articles and pages about the chants literal translation and it's theories, i'd recommend it, its pretty cool!
Duuuuuude... I heard of shit like Unit 731 and know for a fact that that's real but I've never heard of this one. I was looking it up and a German guy did claim that they were successful but wouldn't elaborate further even when threaten with death. I find it hard to believe but anything is possible. I certainly don't care for immortality but I do find this story fascinating.
He is not the only one to live through it. I'm as well a victim of their play to where the point beyond they said "Kagome" and survived the death you receive repeatedly.
Sadly, it's oxygen that ages us through constant cell damage. :/ Awesomely though, we've found microbes that feed on arsenic and do not interact with oxygen at all, and they do not age. Thanks, evolution. Ya really did us a solid with that oxygen dependence thing. XD
Goblineng Mmmm, you're almost right about lobsters. They DO age, but being an aquatic arthropod, its effects are difficult to quantify. Most "old" lobsters simply get so large that they cannot walk or feed themselves. As for the jellyfish, yeah, pretty mind-blowing, ain't it? Heh we've got no fucking clue on that one. But just imagine...one of the moons of Jupiter has liquid oceans of methane and arsenic. For all we know, there lies a race of immortal beings totally incapable of physically interacting with us in any way.
holy black on a popo, while I watched this I thought the thing on the screen was a deformed snowflake then I looked at the black and I saw eyes, then I realized it was children staring at me 0-0
the image is a modified version of an hetalia kagome kagome image! I recognized them immediately yay!! great video btw vocaloid hetalia and creepypasta in one video :3 perfect
>"In Early 1945, Hiroshima was bombed" >Hiroshima was bombed in August >"Germany forfeits" >Germany surrendered in May Whoever wrote this creepypasta did not pass their high school world history class.
Eh...Not bad. Not great. Got a little to "camp fire story"ish at the end, explaining all the spooky shit that will happen if you go there, as if anyone can tell you if there's never been any survives... I give it a 6 out of 10 and thats alot coming from me since i gave Jeff The Killer a 3. Love the way you read, MrCreepyPasta!!
+Lonely Films there is no "kill switch" I believe you are referring to conciousness switch and even if there was you cant just become immortal by removing it lol
+Cheyenne “Hinata” Lynn Plus Kagome actually played this game and was always the one in the middle when she was a kid, so I feel the references are justified
When I was 6 and still living in Frankfurt, Germany, our kindergarten teacher let us play Kagome Kagome but translated into Deutsch. It's a lot like ring around the Rosie's. Whoever the person skipping around a circle of people lands in front of, that person is considered the monster and you chase the skipper around. If you get caught, you're considered killed by a monster.
Note to self: Never watch, listen, read, or tell a scary story along the lines of J-horror. I won't be able to sleep... Note to world: if you are scared after experiencing J-horror, go watch a cheerful TV show before you sleep. It helps, if you're not sleeping on the floor.
+maple neko WEIRDER THAN KIDS!! Look closely at them!! IT'S THE HETALIANS!! (Canada and Italy's curl, America's Ahoge, Germany's tall structure, you can even see some of France's silhouette from the upper right corner!)
I remember the first time I heard the vocaloid song, which lead me to read this creepypasta and wanted someone to do a reading of it as well. Now I am successfully scared and I no rush to sleep... thanks MCP :)
I like this story, its kinda weird.. I always wanted to play kagome kagome with my friends but it never happend.. I'm afraid to be by myself right now o.e Gaming Goddess
Dude, you are fucking awesome!!!!! I love listening to your narrating sooo much!! It just sends shiver down my spine and make me get the chills. This story has to be one of my all time favorite one!!!!
"Kagome" actually translates to "seagull" in Japanese. The word kagome isn't just a name for an anime character, it's also used as its literal term (seagull) and is often used in Japanese literature and haiku.
Doesn't "umineko" translate to seagull? Sure google translate might come up to sea cat or somethin', but Umineko no Naku Koro ni means When the Seagulls Cry or somethin' and otherwise I think its "kamome".
Guy, I find your videos awesome for me going to sleep to. I suffer from ptsd from a few wars I have been in and these really help for some reason. Maybe my mind broke
As a previous foster parent and liaison for children , this was a very horrid story to get through. But once again I am waiting the next sentence , well more honestly to the word , to know what will happen next in the story. ( Thank you Mr. MCP 😉 your narration is so spot on I am sure the authors are more than happy to have you narrate their stories ! You just draw us into the stories with full emotion intended . ) I am so glad so many laws are in place to protect those innocent babies where they are defenseless and are so trusting because we are the adults.🙄 I really hope this turns out to be an imaginative story and not really facts. To Google I go! Love those little ones and the ones trying to become adults. They trust and want to trust wholely. They love and want to be loved unconditionally. Those sweet little prescious souls deserve for us to be a better adult in all things. And off the soap box I jump! 🥴 😢❤😢❤
★DetectiveRU-vid★ Circle You (Kakome)- watch?v=6Ck-nS365xM Bamboo Cage (Kagome)- watch?v=M-uj_U2Y3C0 They are two different songs. Circle You is constantly mislabeled as Kagome even though if we look at the name of the song in Japanese the Hiragana says 'Kakome' not 'Kagome'
Mizuuma Hmm, yes I have been very confused by that. Everyone says it "Kagome Kagome" and everyone else says "Kakome kakome" And there's another vocaloid song as well with the same name which always confuses me. but I understand now, thank you! :D
And kagome kagome is the name of the game not the process/ idea of the immortality experimenting (this is for those who keep trying to "sumarize" the creepypasta..
***** Kagome Kagome is the name of the song, and this creepypasta is based around it. I have to agree Len and Luka sound very alike in some cases, but this really is Miku and Luka. Also, regarding a different comment chain in here, Mikuo is just a pitch-edit of Miku and not a real vocaloid.
He forgot to read the part where a young girl was brutally beheaded so I added it here. --- One child out of the whole orphanage, did not approve of the scientists presence. In her acts of rebellion she stole paperwork and ripped it to shreds, broke glassware and wrecked surgery theaters. Despite her young age (8 years old) and size, she had a surprising capacity for destruction. It was noted in a journal that she was heterochromic as well (brown and blue eyes from left to right). The senior scientists despised her, but could not restrain her without arousing suspicion. Instead, they ordered the Nazi soldiers to take care of her. She was brutally beheaded with a blunt bayonet, she was not buried, just left in the woods behind the orphanage. The soldiers told the caretakers that she had found a new family.
This is one of my favorite Creepypasta stories. i wrote is down when i was 10 and had the teacher read it in class in class of course see didn't finish but it still was a great story. But if you watch the anime serious "Inuyasha" a girl is named Kagome and in the final act (the episodes leading to the end) there is a episode that reminds me so much of the do to the fact that the children circles the child in the middle and chants the song.
I adore the VOCALOID song it's so beautiful and creepy, and the story is just the same. I listened to this a long time ago but it's amazing to listen to it another time X3 one of my favorite stories
I like the ones more based on true story, they are scarier in my opinion, because they happened, and can happen again. Great, and creepy story. Keep up the amazing work, Mr. Creepypasta 😊💜
