The funky overture before the finale.
Rules:
- EXP gain must be minimised, limited to forced encounters where possible
- Using Bright Might or Dark Might for guaranteed crits is forbidden
- Use of demons from the Maniax/Chronicle release is forbidden (This includes Fiends, Beelzebub, Black Frost, Futomimi, Metatron, Sakahagi and Dante/Raidou)
- The goal is to collect all Magatama and achieve the True Demon Ending
Kagutsuchi is the final boss for all endings except the Demon and True Demon endings. He has magic of all elements and his attacks do almighty damage. Each turn the Kagutsuchi phase will continue to cycle and his strength increases proportionally to the current phase. In his first form the only attack of note he has is Vast Light which he can only cast when the phase is full. His second form is much more impressive. In his second form he gains access to Dragon Eye, Dekunda and Dekaja, his normal attack hits your whole team and Vast Light gets upgraded to Infinite Light which can only reasonably be survived if your buffs and debuffs are maxed out or close to it. Thankfully he always wastes a turn with a dramatic declaration to indiciate that he will use Infinite Light on the next turn. As long as you keep on top of the buffs he's generally quite manageable. In this particular run he chose to do nothing but Infinite Light over and over again. Curiously he was able to use Dekunda after it once and only once. I don't know what to make of this, I've seen enough weirdness in this run as it is.
