Dhoni kept on playing 3-4 dot balls in last few overs which gradually kept on increasing the required run rate which went above 10, 11, 12 so on & ultimately put lot of pressure on Jadeja who was playing superbly & that made Jadeja play the shot which got him out & the rest we all know..

2 reasons for India's defeat 1) Biggest setback was Dhawan injury. He is the most underrated ODI player in World cricket. I think that messed up the whole planning of team and they didnt have any backup. Cos those days our plan was top 3 of Rohit-Kohil-Dhawan will take care of 60-70% of the batting. 2) Rayudu exclusion from team. He is a player who can score against both pace and spin. India made the same mistake in 2003 where they dropped Laxman who was always good against Aussies in ODI and Tests for a average Dinesh Mongia.

Once Jadeja got out we lost there. Jadeja got out because Dhoni was eating lots of balls so pressure was on Jadeja to score. A dive would've saved the wicket, anyway focus on present WC.

@@MsDhoni-km7hjjab hardik aur rishab aaye crease mai tab Required rate 4.5/5 ke around tha,tab unhone usbaqt time liya magar jab dhoni crease mai aagya tab india kaa RR 7+ pahunchgaya thaa,But he still.played slow at that stage When Jaddu came into crease the RR was almost 8 and he started hitting fours and soxes an d tried to decrease the RR but tuktuk dhobi on the other hand eat a lot of balls and the match went into last overs required 32 of 14 which increased pressure on jadeja which resulted in jaddu trying to hit a big shot and lost his wkt.Had dhoni played 49% game of jadeja India would have won that game by 48th over but dhoni wanted to take the game in last over to steal the credit of becomig hero but he again failed due to his selfishness statpadding batting and talking about top order,the conditions of pitch were difficult to bat,Rohit,Virat and KL got out due to some brilliant bowling by Nz frontline bowlers

Dhoni calculated last over very well. Even with Ben stokes in final, the equation was same 23 off 9. Dhoni knows that he can clear 2 big hit in final over and can score 16-17 in last over of jimmy nisham. Also the biggest blunder by kohli was to send him at 7 in crunch semifinal!

2019 was the most heartbreaking loss, I think that reserve day just broke the rhythm of our team and gave time to NZ to regroup as team and devise new plans, the new ball did so much that day, Kiwi bowlers were on fire, even Santner bowled so economically. All n all that was our wc for the taking.

Wc 2019 loss reason 1. Dhwan injury ruled him out they should called rayudu in intead of rishabh pant ..rayudu will not played irresponsible shot like pant in semifinal .he also saves ind against Nz from same suitation in Nz series just 1 month ago . 2. Dhoni should bat at no 5 to build the innings and pant should come late or should open if he called in place of dhawan ..to utilise powerplay and kill the swings which dhwan used to did ..ind just need start of 30-35 for none and thats it ... 3. Blunders : picking vijay shankar sharma in squad / dinesh kartik on basis of T20 performance in IPL special for RCB

From 92/6 to 221, it shows pitch eased out after new ball lost its hardness. Indian management decisions in the batting order cost us this game. I agree with vikrant here Dhoni could have come up the order at the fall of third wicket.

Exactly!!! Just stop blaming the man like hell coz he ended up in face of loss... Had he not supported jadeja from one end... India won't even reach 150 and would be all out. It was unfortunate that he got run out... Otherwise everyone believe in destruction he can cause in last over

@@soumenchatterjee32760 When Dhoni had arrived, India was in a very sensitive situation. Even Pandya who is a big hitter played with a strike rate of almost 50 in a partnership with Dhoni. Main target of India was to not lose any more wickets as run rate was not a big issue till that time. This was the reason the overall balls taken by Dhoni were more. Still the strike rate of Dhoni was much better than Pandya. Jadeja was the main batsman who actually took the charge and started hitting consecutive boundaries and scored quick runs that led to a big relief and release of pressure for India. That partnership of 116 runs had changed the game completely and every Indian felt like now we can win this game for sure. We were 208-6 and only 32 runs away from the world cup final when Jadeja got out but still we had hopes because Dhoni was still there. Everything got shattered for Indian fans when Dhoni also got run out. Had he been there till the last ball, I don't think Newzealand could stop Dhoni from making us win that semi final.

This was completely opposite of what Dhoni's reputation was in the early career days when he would win matches and score at 90+ strike rates.

The 2007 world cup debacle was the responsibility of Sachin, Sourav, Yuvi, Sehwag. They should have batted sensibly and won the match against Srilanka, but it didn't happen. 2019 WC fiasco was irresponsible shots played by Kohli, Rohit and Rahul. Dhoni was overplayed by India as he was finished before this WC. He played two extra years in Indian team. Yuvi always had high potential of match-winning in compare to Dhoni, but the poor captain and management didn't even realise. Dhoni completely sub-sided him in 2015 WC. He had cricket in him which the successful captain could never see. Dhoni was never successful in WC matches except 2011 final.

I think if a voting is conducted about loss in qhich tournament hurts the most then most people will say 2019 World Cup semi final loss vs NZ and even though India was badly defeated by Australia in 2003 and 2015 World Cups and 2007 obviously being the biggest disaster but 2019 loss was really painful and even in general losses in 50 overs World Cups always hurt way more than in t20 World Cups or Champions trophy.

By the time dhoni and Jadeja came together, the game was done and dusted. Jadeja got 77 but dhoni got only 50. It shows dhoni was unable to pick singles as well and increased the pressure on Jadeja and eventually he got out. 25 off 10 was gettable given the amount to T20 cricket they play. But Dhoni had this habit of taking the game deep and it often ended up costing us games. It worked in Mumbai because Gambhir got 97, Kohli got 38. Conditions were more batting friendly in Mumbai.

@@faheemsame Dhoni is the most overrated and selfish player of the world cricket. He always got fake credit. Dhoni never take risk for accelerate the run rate that's reason non striker batsman came in pressure. Dhoni hits 1-2 big hit in last over for manage himself strike rate and batting average..there are many matches which India lost because of Dhoni's slow and selfish batting.. Dhoni got 15 chances in International but he only success in 3 times. Dhoni failed in 11 times and 1 time tied.. but foolish people barking Dhoni is the best finisher.. Dhoni finished like when India need 10 runs on 24 balls, 5 runs on 12 balls, 20 runs on 36 balls, 30 runs on 60 balls... Dhoni finished 90% easy matches. ..
