Being a drummer just makes this even more impressive to me! So smooth and quick! Very talented guy. Unique style too which is fun! Maybe top ten guy...
Guy loves 6/8 and syncopation and implied poly with Swiss triplets and tempo changes... He is a Jazz drummer at heart who went through the extreme gauntlet of grindcore lol And yes one of the best hands down
Relative to any discipline, what he does with his feet in the first few seconds is more accomplished than what anyone can hope to achieve in a lifetime.
You all probably dont give a damn but does anyone know a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Brody Uriel thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I got to hang out with Jukka too, real privilege to see them live and get to talk to them. I love how personable metal musicians are a lot of the time, really down to earth.
Yup, the new Nightwish album is going to sound bloody great with this master on the kit. I didn't imagine Jukka could be replaced, but actually yes, with his good friend Kai.
@@Pizzagoblin I guess the closest you get in songs is some Wintersun music. Here's an example of one song on a live gig: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-08_PduSKNWU.html
@ 5:02 "Ok, now you do it" ... :o It's almost insane how someone can do stuff like this, there isn't many drummer's this level.. And damn how it looks so easy :D
Kai is one the best metal drummers. Is far best than the last drummer. De hecho es una pena que esté en una banda de mierda como Nightwish. Totalmente desaprovechado.
And two guitars in case he wants to become godlike on them as well... Which makes me wonder, playing with Jari so much, has he taught Kai to play guitar?
I wonder what this was for, because this is long before he started filling in for Jukka as far as I know, but those guitars certainly look like Emppu's guitars to me.
@Baiko This was a combined guitar and drum clinic in Ylivieska, Finland by Teemu Mäntysaari and Kai Hahto. They also gave lessons to those who were interested afterwards.
I don't know if anyone actually plays like that, do you have any examples? I mean playing fast double bass in nearly inaudible volume. I think it would need some pretty good control over the pedals with regular settings.
When it comes to metal, all I care about is that I can actually hear the drums. Over triggering your set with plastic bucket sounds ala Hell Hammer sucks, but using triggers to give the bass drum an edge is all fine by me. You can mix the triggered sound with the original and you can play dynamic stuff with triggers as well. They don't make you play better I'm pretty sure Hahto used triggers with Rotten Sound and Wintersun for example. Who wouldn't want to hear those drums when they play live?
I wasn't saying the old argument that they make you play faster. Just that I don't like how they sound. The whole idea of tapping the bassdrum just seems kind of lame where if it wasn't triggered nothing would be heard at all.
If only Kai taught Lars Ulrich to play drums and the guitarists of Wintersun taught James Hetfield and Kirk hammet how to play and write music, Metallica would be worthy of their commercial success.Of course Rob is in a league of his own.
