I don't get the nothing mattered rhetoric in kuro 2 when lots of people still remember those events (talking to npcs at the festival) and that the rewinds have all been archived in the 8th.
Hi! Randomly got this on my recommended and I feel the same way you do about many things, like how Kuro 1 was such a breath of fresh air and it ended up being my favorite game in the series, and how "dead end: the game" ended up being a huge disappointment, but I wanna try to be optimistic cause this is the 20th anniversary game and since they took a break it surely will have a jump in quality. Kuro 2 was very evidently rushed and them naming this game Kai while still being in the same country with the same characters tells me they've learned from their mistakes and hopefully will do better. But being scared that with the anniversary they want to do something "big" and toss aside character development is a very valid fear. I personally loved Kuro 2 connect events the most compared to other games and I'm really happy with the direction they took with them and that's why I'm personally not afraid of characters getting shafted for the plot. That being said this game will surely focus on attempting to answer a lot of mysteries from the world and so there will not be too much time to focus on specific characters in the story (like for example I don't expect Quatre, Aaron and Judith to get anything at all, and Feri will only be slightly relevant thanks to Kasim), but some of them will for sure get some more screentime. Overall I'm really excited about this game, after how Kuro 2 had really high quality in Fragments and Finale I'm sure they still have it in them to write the games the way fans have come to love and with the extra year of development we can only hope that the game is not rushed.
