I've had one for a couple of months - and it's small and very handy. I've used it with the camera cable to trigger the shutter and also without.

I've been using a Genie Mini for about a year now, and just yesterday I bought a second one plus the tilt bracket for panning AND tilting. I also have a Syrp ball head. I have mixed feelings, to be honest. I love their products for their ease of use, great app, etc, but their quality control leaves much to be desired. The first ball head literally fell part in my hands after a handful of uses, and the cork base on the Genie Mini I bought yesterday was coming unglued right out of the box. Thankfully, their customer service is great; they replaced the broken ball head no questions asked. Unfortunately, I am traveling today and don't have time to get a new Genie Mini to replace the faulty one I bought yesterday; it doesn't affect functionality, but it is bad nonetheless. Hopefully I can get some resolution to the issue when I get back. At any rate, I still recommend the products with the caveat that you may get a lemon and it will need to be replaced.

Given any thought to combining this with the Edelkrone SliderOne Pro to essentially get a low cost, portable motion control system? I'm curious to know if you can get the apps from both products to work at the same time.

Kai can you please recommend a brand of ND-filters? I've struggled with my variable ND's and look for something reliable that does not disturb the video quality.

Does your Syrp Genie mini 2 make a mechanical sound while rotating? It sounds like heavy gears rotating but I am unsure if it is normal or not.

I tried connecting my genie mini 2 with a Panasonic s5 ii in order to do a long exposure panorama. I used a 2.5mm stereo cable (not usb) and set my camera to bulb mode . I set an exposure time of 1m 20s in the Manfrotto app, and an interval of 1m 30s. When I start the pano using the shutter icon in the app, it triggers the camera to start recording video instead of a bulb /still. Yet the camera is not set to video mode. Could you please advise on correct settings? Also, what’s the usb lead for ? Thanks

They have a nice 3-axis offering with the Genie II line but very pricey. Attractive but difficult to justify the cost.

I have a question regarding timelapse with syrp mini. When I take the timelapse with syrp mini, I must press the shutter button of my camera separately...? The reason that is as follow: Firstly, I connected the shutter link cable with my camera (canon 5d MK 4) and mini and set up the option through mobile app. And then, I put the REC button of mobile app and my mini only move (ex: titling and panning) under the setting parameter of app. However, my camera not be taken. I don't know what's the problem with Manual. Please advice it for me. Thanks!

Only way I would buy this thing is if it had a tilt calibrator inside it that allows you align it perfectly with the rotation axis of the Earth with the help of your phones GPS and the provided app tracked the movement of the Earth letting you create amazing and clean long exposure photos or time-lapses.

Hey Ades, a lot of customers do get a little confused about this, but we are pronounced like Syrup. Our motion control and sliders are as silky smooth as syrup, but we took some liberties with the spelling!

Every video this guy films he sticks his finger in front of the camera to point at stuff. Please just film Kai, he is the talent, nobody wants to see your blurry finger in the frame.

Tim is great, him and Kai are nearly as funny as the Kai+Lok combo. Also his finger is literally only in the video for a second at 3.13 and is in focus for most of that time. Don't be so overcritical and such a Kai fanboy, just enjoy the good content!
