I always thought his Kaiju form looked suspiciously similar to a samurai, like his head is literally a Kabuto 😂

My man this is what keeps the anime series alive and going. That theory of investigating is so freaking hype and exciting. If you say it like that that actually could explain some things but it's a hypothesis if this is a case that it could be true then only time can tell will they reveal it to us?!

I have my own actually, I remember at this chapter where Kafka was listening to his commander story at the commanders home? I think... anyway it was about how the commander ancestors fight against Kaiju in the past with lack of technology, and few moments later that "Ghostly Samurai" Popout out of nowhere right? How come? Now my theory is that the "Ghost" Is actually Kaiju number 8 and its previous owner at the Shogun era, like if normal human in modern era cant fight against small Kaiju, how come they fight back and survive at that point? Well it must be another Kaiju user like Kafka, and the "Ghost" Is maybe the commander ancestors that has the Kaiju power or Kaiju number 8 it self, and when the Kaiju said "I found you" Maybe the Kaiju need some specific person to be its wielder like how he choose the commander ancestors or any other person in the past that we don't know yet. So the Kaiju number 8 power can only be used by some certain people like how Avatar can only be chosen by certain person. what yall think about this theory of mine?

THATS EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT Once they revealed that people see their dead relatives ghosts after using the number weapons they also wore during Kikoru's fight. It just fell together own its own like a puzzle piece by piece. Since the samurai era or whatever was so far away, i think the shrine place strengthened the ghostly thingy. I bet on two possibilities on how he'll meet him again if this theory is correct. One, he goes back there because of a gut feeling (many more possible reasons) or two, the samurai shows up in the place when he went berserk in the small kaijus domain thingy.

In my opinion the samurai is a past vessel and ancestor of Kafka because of what kaiju number 8 said "found you " and because the defense force that can numbered weapons can see the memories of previous users or the kaiju itself it's like kaiju number 9 analysis towards kikoru's father's memories so maybe it's true

To be more specific: kaiju weapons have ghost memories that are sometimes visible, but not always, and not to everyone.

My theory is that some top secret department in the organization made human experiments to create some kind of a super soldier, thus accidentally created the semi Kaijuu spices which merge with humans, although they weren't able to control them so it was terminated. 😅

This would jump the timeline of Kaiju to wayyyyyy back. Actually might be possible they’re from the age of the dinosaurs or maybe even the beginning of life on earth. The super ancestor and father to all of the kaijus who survived multiple extinction events. That backstory for the kaijus would go hard if it turns out to be true.

That's what I thought too. When they mention the user's ability to see the past memories, my mind immediately went to that scene where Kafka saw a ghostly image of a samurai. It would be awesome if that was the case coz I'm trying to figure out why he was targeted by that winged-kaiju in the first place.😊

I read a recent chapter where Kaiju n⁰9 fights and tries to devour Mina, he showed different transformations to her and one of them, was a samurai ( which looked similiarly to this samurai )

Also, #8's mask-like face has a crack over its left 8, and the mask of that samurai has a crack over its left eye as well. I honestly think the samurai did some sort of "deal with the devil" to become a monster himself and became #8, but no idea how Kafka's related to that guy lol.

The Ghost Samurai could be both Kafka's ancestor and the previous user of Kaiju No 8. what this theory tells us is that, Kaiju No. 8 did not have any users or vessels ever since that Samurai, until Kafka. And that Kaiju No. 8 specifically chose Kafka because of his lineage and genetics, maybe because his lineage's DNA is compatible with Kaiju No. 8, that's why on the pilot episode, the larvae Kaiju No. 8 said "Found you" to Kafka, telepathically. Meaning Kaiju No. 8 can communicate to Kafka as if he is a Kaiju. BUT I don't think Kafka is a Kaiju because that would not make sense, as Kaijus would sense or recognize another Kaiju and become hostile to each other. Kafka can still be a Kaiju hybrid, but he might be carrying Kaiju No. 8's mcDNA factor than makes them compatible hence why No. 8 chose him. But again this does not make Kafka a Half Kaiku, Half Human hybrid. He just carries the right DNA compatible with No. 8.

My take is that yes, a previous user, an ancestor AND WILL ACTUALLY BE A POWER UP for KAFKA with all those old style or techniques specifically with weapons, a technique No. 9 has no direct knowledge of.
