Gamera is not in the Godzilla franchise but another IP created to rival AGAINST Toho. Eventhough he isn't as popular this turtle boy still captured the hearts of many kaiju fans. Legion is also the antagonist of Gamera.
WRONG! Gamera was not Created by Toho. Gamera is the Property of Kadokawa Corporation! And was Created by Daiei Studios! The Franchise has only had Tangential Connections to Godzilla due to Fans wanting to see the Two Come together. Sadly that Never happened. But there is one film that Daiei and Toho did their best to collaborate on. That film failed. It’s called Daigoro Vs Goliath!
@@danielramsey6141 try rereading the comment. Nowhere did this person say that Gamera was made by Toho. What they did say was that Gamera was made to RIVAL Toho.
Gadarla's color scheme is almost certainly Mothra inspired, but Gadarla's scarier appearance is probably based off Battra, a sort of "evil twin" to Mothra who appeared in the 1992 film, Godzilla vs. Mothra. Gamera and Godzilla are from two different studios and have never interacted, though a movie with them both kinda almost happened, once. Gamaciel having wings is a reference to Gamera's ability to fly. Also, since Legion is a Gamera enemy, it's also never met Godzilla. King Ghidorah is Godzilla's most famous opponent, but not his most powerful, historically. The Mechagodzilla using bones of the original Godzilla is the origin of the third iteration of the character within the franchise. Additionally, Mechagodzilla would be Godzilla's most powerful reoccurring opponent, as no Godzilla has ever beaten a Mechagodzilla without outside help in any of their film appearances.
Note: Egyptian pharaohs would traditionally take a name linking them to a god, to declare their authority end ensure their afterlife. Usually this was in reference to the sky god Horus, but some pharaohs took different titles. So, in Yugioh Duel Monsters, Dark Yugi’s true name being “Atem” is most likely his pharaoh name, linking him to the god of the same name.
Great video as always however there were a few inaccurate points made. First Gamera and Legion are owned by the daiei film company, while Godzilla and company are owned by Toho. Gardarla is definitely a cross between Mothra and Battra clearly. Also Radain gets his name from Rodan from the Godzilla franchise. When talking about Mecha-Dogoran you showed a picture of 1974 Mecha Godzilla and said he was built over the bones of the original Godzilla which isn’t the case. The 1974 & 1975 Mecha G’s were created by an alien race from another planet, the 1993 Mecha G was built on earth using the technology from the remains of mecha king ghidorah who was built using future technologies in the 1991 movie…. Its the 2002 & 2003 Mecha Godzilla movies where the bones of the original Godzilla from 1954’s bones were used to create Kiryu (the name given to Mecha Godzilla in those movies) I might have missed a detail or two lol incase it’s not apparent life long Godzilla fan going on 35yrs 😊
I can see you stating all if this in a Did You Know trivia style video. I didn't know any of this stuff, really cool. Probably because I am just a casual fan of Kaijus/Godzilla Lol
Unironically I think the only reason Legion is being mentioned here is because of me. I had to keep editing the Yu-Gi-Oh wikia because some dunce kept insisting that Jizikiru is meant to be Gigan, when its very clearly the Synthetic GAMERA monster Legion. As far as I know it finally stuck after a while, but this was years ago, when the Kaijus were revealed.
gamera isnt owned by toho, there was a proposed gamera vs godzilla movie in 2002 by kadokawa production but toho declined. gamera and godzilla never met
My best friend and I have been into Godzilla since we were in middle school (almost 20 years ago) and I've always loved kaijus in yugioh. This video was an awesome Christmas gift Logs thank you.
10:48 Seeing that there are multiple archetypes that revolve around Egyptian mythology now (Like The Egyptian Gods, Hieratic’s and Horus), I wanna try and make a custom card that melds them together: _Horus - Hieratic Dragon of the Black Flame_ (LIGHT) Level 8 Dragon/Xyz/Effect 3+ Level 8 monsters _This card’s original attribute is always also FIRE. While you control a face-up “King's Sarcophagus”, You can also Xyz summon this card by using 2 or more “Horus” or “Hieratic” cards you control as materials (Transfer their materials to this card). During the beginning of each turn, declare 1 card type (Monster/Spell/Trap): For the rest of the turn, cards of the declared type that would be banished are instead attached to this card. If a card is activated (Quick Effect), you can detach 1 material from this card: Negate the activation, and if you do, banish it. If this card with 3 or more materials leaves the field by an opponent’s card or effect: Add to your hand or shuffle into your deck 1 card you possess that mentions “Horus” or “Hieratic” in it’s name or effects._ ATK/3000 DEF/1800
You can with a two card combo. TheDuelLogs played once Skill Drain on an opponent, but that backfired when the opponent played Remove Brainwashing and summoned a bunch of Kaiju with his entire board. It was unexpected and hilarious.
It's also crazy how age of overlord didn't actually include hieratic support given the similar name as galactic overlord where they originally came from
Hieratics will always have a special place in my heart. When i first was introduced to the game by a friend in college about 12 years ago, i built hieratics. I had various synchro and xyz variants, and had a blast with my friends. They'll always be representative of the fun and social aspects of yugioh to me.
Just played against a pure Kaiju deck yesterday. Sadly I didn't get to see what it could've done because it was in the extreme duel event so he times out 😢
That event is so damn hard. You basically just have to hope someone forfeits or play a stun strategy, because even a super basic Main Phase combo takes nearly half the damn timer.
I had a friend who really loved Dragons; So naturally, he loved Hieratic when it first came out. That said, because their effect summons a Normal dragon at 0atk: He HATED me whenever I played Chronomaly against him because of No33's burn effect
Someone kinda already said this, but no, Gamara is not part of the Godzilla franchise, although the point I want to bring up is that he's made by a rival company that is very competitive to Toho. So Godzilla and Gamara have never met, may never meet, and these Yugioh cards are the closest fans have gotten to seeing the two together.
Ah Kaijus, the archetype that gives a ton of headaches for many players but very fun to play. Love to play them to relive the Godzilla/Gamera/Ultraman role-playing while annoying the opponent. =P
A noted combo is Jizu and Kaijuu capture mission. KCM can make Jizu negate KCM and then Jizu can follow up to destroy something else. Mainly for removing something without responding to it. It ensures you can destroy every turn (as long as you have counter)
So the script writer was somehow aware that Godzilla and Ultraman were two seperate franchises, but not Godzilla and Gamera? Also, where the hell did they get the information of Gamera ever interacting with Godzilla?
Other than "Santa Claws" are there other themed christmas and holliday yugioh cards? A North Pole, or Yule archetype could be fun. Krampus and Belsnickel could have some crazy effects😁😁 So many monsters they could do like Pierre Noelle, Los Reyes Mogos, Yule Goat, Yule Lads, Ded Moroz the Yule Giant, which could have a Cold Wave like effect, and of course a Saint Nicholas monster and wife monster Filene the Yule Maiden. What do you think?
Ghost Beef is “The ghost of Christmas Dinner” The entire Starry Knight archetype is Christmas themed; their Japanese name is “Holy Night”, referencing the Christmas song/hymn “Silent Night, Holy Night”, and they also have cards like “Holy Night Nativity”
You put the wrong mecha Godzilla for the "was built around the bones of the original Godzilla" that'd be the Millenium series mecha Godzilla also known as "Kiryu" which as one of the most popular mecha Godzillas and mecha dogoran's arm blades seem to indicate it's probably more closely inspired on that one.
2012 I was a die hard hieratic fan. I would play lv 6 combo level 8 control. I would splash e dragons boi I miss playing that deck. (on second though many rose-tinted glasses it was pain when you drew laborite + watttail)
??? Godzilla has never had a cross over with gamera. They have never fought there not allies and there not even owned by same studios There were rumors in 2022 of a crossover but toho shot it down And be for you say but Tokyo SOS that is not gamera that Kamobas not gamera
I want more Kaiju Cards. Give me a Kong, a Destroyah, Jet Jaguar, Angirus, Gigan, Megalon, G-Force, Monster Island, Super X 3, Space Godzilla. GIVE US MORE DAMMNIT
Close but not quite. Battra used mostly beam attacks in his only movie appearance. Mothra has poisonous scales that she can shed from her wings. Said scales can be poisonous or act like a mirror depending on the movie
Although I'll also point out that "Kaiju" means 'strange beast' and it's actually an abbreviation of daikaiju, which means 'great/large strange beast'. They're not two separate things, one is just shorthand for the other. Godzilla is as much of a daikaiju as Gamera is.
Apart from Godzilla and Gamera being different franchises altogether, I have it on good authority that Gadarla is male, so is actually Battra, not Mothra and spiders are not "considered" arachnids, they are, given that they have eight legs, which is why they're not insects as they only have six! Scorpions are arachnids as well, as they also have eight legs! Also, all us true Big G fans know that Desrtoyah is Godzilla's strongest as he went toe-to-toe with Burning Godzilla, as you said, and not only held his own, but was also able to deal considerable damage... to a mentally suped up Big G! Ghidorah and his many forms is jus the most common foe the King has faced! And you could have gone more into the Egyptian Pantheon, though, at least I do know someone who would love this Archetype, though she is more into classic Yu-Gi-Oh!, more the Duel Monsters Era! And I think due to the Structure Deck on Master Duel, we do tend to run Hieratic Seal in Dragonmaids for the high Lv Material for Dragonmaid Sheou, an omni-negate who simply requires a Dragonmaid and any Lv 5 or higher Dragon! Plus you can use it Dragon Shrine to fill your Graveyard with him and a Dragonmaid you can jus simply bring back and get the Effect off! *Xyz Summoning, not XYZ Summoning, there is no such thing as "XYZ Summoning"! One idea, what about the INSANE versatility of T.G.? They now basically have a one-card Baronne de Fleur, you know!
i gotta hard disagree with the notion that heiratics are a forgotten archetype. they were literally an integral part of a tier 1 strategy. they single handedly kept dragon rulers being the best deck after pure rulers got slaughtered on the ban list. heiratic rulers were viable meta threat right up the day the adult rulers got banned.
0:00 Idea for a new level 12 Kaiju monster: _Echidna, The Mother of all Kaiju_ Level 12 Dragon/effect _While face-up on the field or in the GY, this card is also DARK, EARTH, WATER, FIRE, and WIND-Attribute. You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) to your opponent's field in Attack Position, by Tributing 1 monster they control. If your opponent controls a "Kaiju" monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand) in Attack Position. You can only control 1 "Kaiju" monster. Once per turn: You can remove any number of Kaiju Counters from anywhere on the field; Normal or Special summon 1 monster from your hand or deck who’s level equals the number of removed counters._ ATK/3500 DEF/3500 For this one, I’m taking a different route than the usual Kaiju cards and am invoking the name of the mythological echidna, husband of the dread Typhon and mother of the vast majority of Greek mythology’s monsters (hence why it summons or “births” monsters from your hand or deck).
Merry Christmas @TheDuelLogs! For this video series, good suggestions for future topics would be the Mathmechs and how they relate to their respective symbols, or the mythological/literary references of the Fire Fist and Ancient Warrior Archetypes. Also, my regular request for Worst Classic cards 7: ancient sanctuary and Worst Warrior types i. Yugioh
