Just recently bought this phone. It should be coming in a few days, i have decided to completely drop social media for good to live a more fulfilling life
I've been using this phone for a month now. Once the phone was released in the Philippines. I replaced my smartphone to a feature phone. Yes it's difficult to use Facebook, especially messenger ( hopefully there's a designated app for messenger alone) all apps that I need are all there like maps, RU-vid, email. Yes it's true this feature phone is a weekend phone. I have decided to replace my smartphone to feature phone is to break away from bad habits (social media detox). Yes indeed it lacks my everyday apps.
I'm also using it as my main phone as well for the time being since I don't have a working smartphone as of the moment. My life changed for a bit without a smartphone HAHAHA
What a awesome review! Mine is coming tomorrow has mine primary phone. When i need a smartphone, just hotspot for it and is done. Thanks, i was afraid of bugs or else with KaiOS, but your video help me, thanks a lot!
Its okay for normal users. I downgraded myself from Note8 to this phone. I mean from 6GB RAM smartphone to 512MB. So I feel it slow. May be i will get used to it later
I'm interested in the development of Kai OS and it's potential. This phone is still a bit expensive (around 5k) because it was made by Nokia. In India, a local Kai OS phone has only the price of 800 Php (converted) and it hit big because of that. The specs of a decent Kai OS phone have the same specs of a low budget Android, 512 MB RAM, 4GB ROM, 2MP camera etc. A locally made Kai OS phone that have the budget-friendly price tag (I'm speculating around Php 1500 ceiling, the bottom price tag of low budget Androids) and easy access to YT, FB, Google, etc. have the potential to hit big. Another speculation is that FB Messenger for Kai OS will be the 'Killer App' that it needs to penetrate local PH market. That and I want to grasp and use a phone that has the looks of a feature phone but has the capabilities of a smartphone, also the flip phone can become cool again.
Yes, for the price, it's too expensive here in the Philippines. I would gladly buy another one if this is priced at 3k or 2k pesos, maybe in the coming months or so pag feel na ng Nokia di na bumebenta ang flip phone hahaha
Unfortunately, you get a basic Google maps experience. No voice navigation, only static GPS positioning. But it is pretty accurate on locating where you are.
What do u think about the Doro 7060? And can u do a review of that? I mean I know they are pretty much the same but I can't choose between the two of them
Good review, I was thinking of buying one to play around with and maybe to detox a little bit too. Darn smartphones are just too addicting and they collect so much data it’s not funny anymore. Does this phone require being logged into a service (for example, before you can download apps or anything like that)? Does the browser support multiple tabs?
You will be given an option to create a KaiOS account but I didn't bother hahaha. But still, I can download appps from the KaiOS store without problems. Unfortunately, tabbed browsing is not there, even on UC browser. Which is kinda odd since older Nokia phones with S40 OS have tabbed browsing
Yes Hello 911? Thanks. Not having tabbed browsing is a disappointment, hope they’ll update it to add the option. But the design of this phone is just so nice, it’s too hard to resist lol.
I just had this 3 days ago. I have noticed that it shuts down by itself even without pressing. Don't know if its normal or whatever. Has a slow response at times, but nice review by the way.
Naranasan ko dun yan and akala ko bigla lang na lowbatt ang phone, pero yung pala parang bug sya sa hardware or software cguro. Sa 8110 ko kase nun di sya nagkaka ganyan 🥺 Anyways thanks for appreciating the review 😁
Greetings from Greece. Your review was very helpful through a thoughtful video. I have been using this phone for about three months now and I am very pleased. I'm one of those guys that when they leave their home they don't care about the Internet and social media, so buying a smartphone would be an unnecessary expense. Additionally, smartphones are quite more bulky and heavy than Nokia 2720 Flip. As I saw on the phone you are using in the video, the front screen shows the date also, except for the time (until now I thought it was not possible to display the date on the front screen). Can you tell me how you put the date on the front screen? Thanks.
Hi there, thanks for this review. I am wondering, is there any place for a lanyard to be attached? Would the speaker gaps be able to function as a lanyard slot? Thanks!
Hi, thank you for the review. At 3.12 you say that Maps works pretty well without problems. Were you able to share your location to others in Google Maps? I haven't been able to, I've followed the instructions and select the blue dot when in location sharing, and nothing happens, it's supposed to come up with a list of more options, but there is no response on my phone when I click.
Bought a Nokia 6300 4g today, I like it so far. I think KaiOs will get better and better:) Btw, what is the yellow Nokia (smartphone) in the video, it looks so tiny:D ??
hey it's been a while you posted this comment, I wanted to ask you was yoyr nokia 6300 4g great ? I want to buy a detox phone, my first wish was nokia 6300 4g but I don't see much reviews about it so I want to be sure before buying it is the Hotspot usable (I need it outside for my courses) ? Is google maps usable ?
If you drive for living or go driving around a lot, it's not a phone for you. The navigation is better in any smartphone. This phone is NOT good for any modern apps, like Google Maps, or RU-vid. Heck, it doesn't even support many top apps, like Uber or Tidal. So, to sum it all up... it's a good phone for a grandpa, or a backup phone for anybody. But it will never be able to replace smartphone in functionality... It's NOT a smartphone, yes it has many apps and a KaioS store, but the apps are really basic, and impossible to use on a normal basis. I'd recommend to get a low budget smartphone, like Motorola e6 plus, or something like that. It is a much wiser choice for someone who wants to keep up with the modern world. If you are an older person or you have more static job, then you might consider the Nokia. But if you expect more from a phone, then don't buy the Nokia, because it is by no means something that will allow you to use apps with ease. It will rather irritate you with its slow and outdated software.
Great review and thank you for that. Your phone does not line up, especially when you pause @ 2:00 minutes in the video, where you can see the charging port....
Greeting from Nigeria, Your review is very educative and informative. What is the maximum numbers of contacts that can be stored in a phone memory or those it support saving on gmail?
I'm looking into getting this phone real soon, but I have one question and I hope you respond. How's the texting on this? Does texting go smooth and do text messages come through with ease? I currently have TMobile here in the US .
Hello po! I just got mine today. My concern is about the length of time for charging it. Ilang oras po? And ano po indication na fully charged na siya? Thank you po.
On my experience almost 2 hours ang charging time. Yung indicator po nya na fully charged is makikita sa small second screen pag naka closed ang phone. Magiging full na yung battery wala na yung "charger" icon 😁
Nice review. I was planning to buy one few months ago because of this vlog but sadly, it was out of stock in every store (physical and online). Instead, I got myself a 3310 3G. Same principle, a digital detox phone but doesnt have KaiOS.
@@YesHello911 Yes, but the funny part was few weeks after I bought the 3310, nagkaroon ng stock sa mall ng 2720! LOL But I did not have any regrets on buying the 3310 though, it is fun to use and it was easy for me to find accessories for it like case and screen protector.
Hahaha buti pa dyan may stock sa physical stores. Dito samin wala talaga. Anyways binenta ko na yung 2720 Flip ko hahaha di ko na alam kung may mga updates na ba sya when it comes to apps and sa kanyang OS hahaha
I want the 2720 flip, but they're not readily available yet in the US. I'M told by Nokia reps that it WILL be made available stateside. I need action on that, not words or empty promises, but I'm still hopeful for it though. I currently have the Nokia entry level 31.a AT&T smartphone which is good, but I really wish to go with a forward thinking retro flip device such as the 2720. Peace...♐
