As a guy with roots in the hiphop community with a few metal head friends, this game is probably the most metal game there is. It's a monkey trapped in a ball forced to get through deadly obstacles with you as its savior. Makes sense to me, haha
World 1 - Glades by Aviators World 2 - Mirage Saloon Act 2 by Tee Lopes (Sonic Mania) World 3 - Art of War by Yasuhisa Watanabe (Senko no Ronde DUO) World 4 - Solstice Equinox by relayer (Super Monkey Ball: Launch!) World 5 - Snowboarding by Jim Nopédie (Super Monkey Ball 651) World 6 - No Remorse by 3R2 (Rabi-Ribi) World 7 - xenon by Mr. T (beatmania IIDX 8th Style)
Talked to some old monkeyball-heads about this recently. The fact that this exists is nothing short of a miracle. When this came out back in 2018 it was only the first few worlds and even those just seemed not doable. The fact that this is now AT A GDQ is absolutely insane
I don't watch many speedruns, but it's funny to me that, despite how intense Monkey Ball games look, their runners are some of the most talkative ones x) Not complaining, mind you, it's more entertaining... and impressive :D
This game was my childhood (hence the username) and it is always great to see a unique set of stages, no matter how hard the levels. Amazing job Ike and all who were on the couch!
With ha- uh, fangames like this, I always love the music selection choices; that blend of video game music, covers of commercial music and original tracks. Is a songlist for this game available anywhere?
This panic inducing run was definitely one of the most impressive runs I have seen at GDQ. My inner 12 year old was on pins and needles the whole time!
Don't you love when you recognize a song that's being used in something you've never seen before? lol. The song in world 6 at 24:24 is "No Remorse" from the Rabi-Ribi OST. Awesome songs you should totally listen to.
