I agree that Kaka is often overlooked today, but for me, the most underrated player without a doubt is Romario. He’s easily a top 10 player of all time and a top 3 striker ever. However, because he played during the early 1990s-a transitional period for football broadcasting and media-his legacy hasn’t gotten the attention it deserves. What really overshadowed him was the rise of Ronaldo (R9) and the golden era of the Brazilian national team in the late '90s and early 2000s, which somewhat diminished Romario’s achievements. People forget that what he accomplished with both Brazil and Barcelona was incredible, especially considering the teams that followed were arguably stronger. His stats, skill, and achievements speak for themselves.

People say ronaldhino was the player who made them fall in love with football but Kaka was the one that made me fall in love with the beautiful game 🇧🇷

When I was a kid, and Champions League was still available for free on TV, I watched the Manchester United - AC Milan semi final 1st leg. That Kaka goal, where he sent the two United defenders crashing against each other before scoring is forever going to be in my head. I still consider it the greatest goal I ever saw live, and the perfect distillation of what made prime Kaka so great. Technique and finesse, but also powerful and deceptively quick, with a great IQ and ability to read the game

Oh dear I forgot about that Kaka's goal after snatching away from young Messi. Knowing how quick Messi was during that age, Kaka was just another level. Really wished he lasted a bit longer. Do Michael Owen if you haven't done one yet. Used to be my role model growing up playing football and the very reason why I discovered Liverpool FC.

No one glided up a pitch with the ball as gracefully as Kaka did. Only one I can think of as gracefully but in a slower way was Iniesta. It looked like they were running on clouds.

I don't think anyone who watched football at the time forgot about Kaka. It's fair to say that he doesn't get the recognition that he probably deserves from younger fans but injuries and a drop off in form when he was still in his 20's almost certainly had an impact on his overall legacy

Kaka was incredible in so many facets of the game but what I always respected most about him was his refusal to dive on such a regular basis like countless Brazilian players seem to do. I'm not saying that he never fell over a little easier than he should have but with all his finesse there was a bulldozer inside his soul. Watching him drive forward seemed to be moments of anticipation for the amazing. Quite often he delivered what we were all hoping for and he'll never be forgotten for it! 🤩🤯⚽

He broke my heart in 07, and I still love him. Growing up he was my favorite non-Liverpool player. For Milan he was boss. He could do anything.

I'm brazilian and i'd say if you ask people here about their TOP 4 players it would probably be Pelé, Romário, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo (not in this specific order). But my personal favorite has always been Kaká, his performances at São Paulo and Milan are remarkable till this day , and he's pretty much the main reason why Milan got so popular in Brazil in the 2000s. If you've never seen this guy play before, just know he won the Ballon D'or at 2007 over Messi and Cristiano.

He was my hero growing up. I cried when the Dutch knocked Brazil out of the world cup in 2010.

In the 2010 world cup quarter finals Brazil faced Netherlands, having the advantage at 1 - 0 with a supreme first half Brazil had a tremendous chance to kill the game with a safe 2 - 0, where Luis Fabiano number 9, passed the ball to Kaka in the goal area, and Kaka tried his usual finesse shot aiming the top bin, but the goalkeeper Stekelenburg denied it. Later on the second half Sneijder scored 2 goals eliminating Brazil from the wc 2 - 1. Last year Kaka mentioned that shot against Stekelenburg in a podcast when talking about how he was injured during the wc and sacrificed himself to play it. "Every single time it went in, but in the most important one, it didn't." You can see the shot if you search the match Netherlands x Brazil 2010 on youtube. Definitely shows how injuries can affect your life as a footballer, even if you recover, you're never at 100% anymore.

I remember him destroying Man UTD in the Champions league, when he was at AC Milan. For a few years he was unstoppable, but sadly faded with injuries. He was above CRonaldo at the time and I much prefer him as a player. Couldn't describe his best position, perhaps a free role. He also had a top attitude for a world class footballer

Kaka was the last player to win the Ballon D'or before Messi and Ronaldo had a choke hold to it. Very humble and a fantastic player on his day. The younger generation never got to see how great he was during his peak. Yes, his move to Madrid didn't work out due to injuries and Özil replacing him. Kaka went to church when he won the Ballon D'or.

Many have a misconception that kaka's time at madrid was not as great as his milan days, yes he didnt score as much, but he was involved in every goal and plays and was absolute class at madrid. And kaka wasn't sidelined when cr7 joined, they were all signed in the same transfer window and played alongside each other. Check the facts and do some real proper research before making a video upon it. Yes it was indeed injuries and jose mourinho preferring an other profile of player than kaka which led to a decrease in his playing time.

I also noticed this trend when it seems that if you were not on double digits for 10+seasons you are not worthy of consideration, even though only Messi and CR7 truly managed that consistency

Kaka was great in his prime, his 07/08 and 08/09 campaign were incredible to watch. However, he was kind of a 2 season wonder for the most part, he was not able to reproduce that in Madrid, sure injuries played a big role, but all time great is quite a stretch if you honestly had only a couple of outstanding seasons, even though winning a ballon dor alone might be enough to earn that title. On another note, a player i think really got forgotten is Lothar Matthäus, nobody seems to ever talk about him at all, even though he is very clearly a top 25 footballer of all time and argueably germanys best player ever.
