Tbh Guy shouldn't have survived because there's nothing really that happens with him after he survives in the manga there's just a panel with him sitting next to Kakashi talking a little bit but there isn't really anything to do with him now it also takes away from the set up that the 8 gate gives you inredible power for some time in exchange for your life and Naruto saving Kakashi just ruins it That moment only gives something to Naruto like look how strong Naruto is he can save a man that is about to die but it doesn't do anything good for guy as it takes away from his sacrfice as Guy wanted to buy some time before Naruto and Sasuke arrive basically if Guy didn't use the 8 gates Naruto would still come anyway so Guy's resolve is just being ruined there and it would've been the perfect ending for his character Him sitting in a wheelchair doing nothing is a pretty bad ending for Guy tbh
