He is the staunchest "spiritual disciple" of our own, the great playback singer Mohammed Rafi Sahab to the extent that he onsiders himself to be the musical son of Rafi Sahab, as if he virtually carries Rafi Sahab's soul with him. Do listen to old Hindi songs by the great Rafi sahab, his classical based and other songs, your would just be floored! He was superhuman among Indian playback singers and had tremendous range and ability to sing any type, any genre song, effortlessly. Sonu himself confessed plenty of times that he learned to express his feelings through the song's lyrics, intricacies of mixing exact emotions in every tiny part of the song by observing the greats' singing including those of Rafi Sahab! Apart from being an excellent singer, he is a good human being too and this goodness is primarily inspired by the sheer goodness and humility of his spiritual guru Rafi Sahab, it seems! Thousand salutes to both of them!🙋‍♂️

The line which he dedicated to his mom translates in English to " when someone comes near to you carrying the shadow of their eyes, no matter how much you control, your heart will beat for that person. But the story which is true today might not be there tomorrow" The whole song basically means that every moment of your life is transitory and will pass away, so live it to the fullest and if you find a true love then hold on to it.

I was in my 2nd grade, back in 2002, around when the movie came out, and I loved this song ever since. This performance was so amazing. I think the crowd was grieving for his mom, and this is a sad song as well, so he pumped up the performance to cheer them up, or so I think.
