Thanks for your opinions guys, good to hear from you on these issues. Im an old guy, 70, so I remember how Iowa was always such a developemental school. Are we going to lose that with this stupid NIL and tranfer pirtal shit. That was something that I always loved about Iowa, the way they would take three star guys and develope NFL players out of them. With transfer guys coming in every year from the transfer portal, how can a third string guy ever expect playing time? We definitely need some restictions on the portal and NIL so the players lose something in the transfer.

He didn’t make a mistake, he made a choice, a bad choice. But I agree he is a very good young man. He will learn and move on.

@@cancertomato1798 a mistake is actions with unintended consequences. A choice is making the choice to drink, making a choice to drive drunk. Choices have intended consequences. He didn’t drink by mistake and he didn’t drive drunk by mistake. I wish ppl would understand the difference between a mistake and a choice.

@@deaner1956 A choice can retrospectively be a mistake. Are you telling me you've never done something even as simple as stayed up too late or eaten more than you should? It's not as if you are unaware that eating too much will make you gain weight, but you should be able to say "I should not have done that, that was a bad choice, it was a mistake". I don't think anyone is saying he shouldn't be held accountable, just that with repentance, forgiveness is given.

@@cancertomato1798 I get what you are trying to say. You are saying that one choice could be a mistake. By the way I am not trying to crucify the young man. I was trying show ppl that he made those choices, it wasn’t accidental, which mistakes are usually accidental.

He made a mistake like almost everyone else did when we were that age. The only difference is in this day and age with companies like Uber, Lyft, etc…. a pick up and delivery service is just a click away.
