@@kentucky_fc whenever i get to that part of the song i picture him in the studio doing that while spencer and dallon are in the background trying not to laugh
it's currently 1:30am and I have to be up for work at 7am but whateverrrrr I'm going to write this long comment anywayyy Panic! was the first band I ever really loved. I remember it very vividly, how their music really made me feel like I was a part of something when I was a really socially awkward 11 year old kid just starting middle school. It was honestly a really hard adjustment period for me, and it was hard to see everyone growing up and becoming mature at their own paces-- but this music was a constant. I would get in trouble a lot for listening to this album in class in my hot topic earbuds with cats on them instead of doing my work but honestly, this music is to this day more important than pre-algebra or whatever it was.
I mean if it makes you feel better I just found out about it now. It's not a bad thing. It's a reminder that there's always more to discover out there. :)
@chicochops1348 the rest of the album was garbage? Say it louder? Sugar soaker? Viva Los vengeance? Sad clown? Literally the rest of the entire album? They're all bops my brother
@@joshuapool5048 sad clown is good, but the whole album is a major step down in quality from their earlier works in my opinion. I grew up with their music and it was just really sad for me after listening to the newest album and it feeling nothing like it was before
@@maggotscave9345 Kind of cool that these songs are hidden gems, but a mad bummer that I can't queue them. Two of my favorites are bonus tracks from this album.
i wonder how many takes it took him to get that whimper at 1:40 or that maniacal laugh at the end. i can just imagine spencer and dallon trying not to laugh at either part and then seeing them try not to crack makes him crack lol
bizzare how i havent listened to these somgs in 7 years but my heart still remembers all the words 🥹 this album narrated my teenage years, i miss the old days
Do you think Brendon keeps telling RU-vid to take this song and Bittersweet down because the songs have something personal to do with him? I think so because both are love songs, so I think there's a connection here.
early patd is unbeatable and brendon has an incredible voice, but man is he an asshole. got called out for it and just disappeared off of social media instead of addressing it
i’m going to recount as much as i can remember so bear with me, and i’ll put all the links at the end. - racist comments: he once did a livestream in which he said the n word twice, i’ll link it for you. he’s also mouthed it in vines before, which is just utterly disgusting. he went on this massive tirade during a show of his in which he said he wishes he’d been born black so he could wear the clothes he wanted to without being made fun of. technically i guess that’s not racist - he’s talking about how he wishes he was black, meaning he admires black people, however it is very off putting given his past, and definitely seems like a backhanded compliment because he’s stereotyping them. - transphobia: he’s also said the t slur during an interview before, while talking about being pansexual. again, gross behaviour. - ableism: you can see where this is going. he said the r slur in another livestream. he even stammered over his words, so he definitely had time to correct himself, but just chose not to. - rape joke: (big trigger warning for rape/SA). during a show in vices and virtues era, he was obviously not sober and made a joke about having sex with his (mostly underage) fans after the show. i believe he specifically used the words, “i don’t care if you want it. and i don’t care if you don’t want it. because then i *really* want it.” - he has been accused of sexually harassing fans. i’ve looked for twitter threads, accounts of people talking about their experience but can’t find any. however, i know he has been accused of harassment by multiple people. it wouldn’t surprise me after the rape joke he made, but i also don’t believe it has been proven or disproven, as well as the fact that i can’t find any first hand accounts, so i guess that can be skipped over. i did think it was important to bring up though. - fetishising bisexual women/lesbians, essentially wlw relationships: during an interview, he was talking about his song girls/girls/boys, and brought up how straight women will have one too many drinks while they’re out and start making out with each other. he calls it “barsexual” and basically implies that he enjoys watching it from memory. what’s worse, is that i believe an ex band member, dallon weekes wrote the song about his bisexual wife, but he left the band (i’ll go into why later) and brendon twisted the meaning into something else. - fatphobia: the band security guard, zack cloud hall, posted a photo on twitter of a plus sized fan on someone else’s shoulders during a show. he made some pretty gross remarks, and brendon urie, instead of telling him to delete it, retweeted it. every time i think about it, i think about how crushed that poor girl must have been. i feel terrible for her. - zack cloud hall: zack, like i mentioned, was the security guard for panic! at the disco for around 10 years i think. during that time, he used his power in very wrong ways. now this abuse of power is not on brendon urie, however, it did go on for years without being addressed, and that, in my opinion, is on brendon. like i said, zack abused his power as a security guard for years while he was working for panic! at the disco. one example of this is how he used it to basically terrorise and humiliate fans. there are accounts of him taking insulin off of people, being misogynistic (he called a fan “boob girl” at a show once without knowing if she was a minor or not), as well as a lot of other things. for a while, fans used to send him topless photos to his private messages on instagram, twitter etc. and he posted a photo of a collage he’d made of them (blurred out, but still) on twitter. as a security/bodyguard and someone who is entrusted with keeping the band and fans safe, that’s absolutely disgusting behaviour. i’m sure some of those fans were probably minors too. he was extremely inappropriate to dallon weekes’ (who i mentioned earlier) wife, breezy, during the time that dallon worked for panic! at the disco. breezy recounts one story in which the band, zack and breezy all went to watch a movie together, and zack insisted on sitting next to her in the hopes that she’d “jack him off”. another time, zack sent her his lock screen, which was a photo of her (weird enough, considering she’s married), that focused on not her face, but her boobs. and other things like that for years while dallon worked for panic! at the disco. breezy dealt with this for years, as she didn’t want dallon to lose his job, but eventually they’d both had enough, and dallon left, and started his own band called “i don’t know how but they found me”. despite all of these allegations against zack, he was kept on for years, until finally brendon could no longer ignore it and i believe he has been dismissed since then. i just think it could have (and should have) been addressed sooner, as the entire band should be dedicated to keeping their fans safe while they’re at shows/interacting with other band/crew members. i can’t think of anything else, although there very well could be. i just think that all of this together, over the years doesn’t paint a very good picture of brendon, and although i adored him for years when i was younger, i can’t stand to support a person who continuously does the wrong thing. links: - brendon saying the n word: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5kliJbLavEo.html - brendon saying he wishes he was black: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eYRczyqKnc8.html - brendon saying the t slur: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xq4lnPaRf-w.html - brendon saying the r slur: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4oCsfETL3CM.html - brendon urie rape joke (trigger warning, be careful
@@samjuiced I think people tend to forget he's a human being and has said shit years ago that most def wasn't good. And I won't stand up for that because it was wrong. Zach was one of his best friends so I'm sure it was hard to separate that. When that one guitarist was in the band and was caught snapchatting underage girls he was fired the same day. I'm not making excuses I just think he did a lot of dumb stuff when he was younger and hopefully learned the consequences of his words.
@@samjuiced that first thing you mentioned about him wanting to be black... literally the first thing to come to mind was Jordan Peele's Get Out. it's about fetishizing black culture/black people and wanting to be them, whether it's to "be hip" or to "be good at sports",etc.

"I'm just a white blood cell fighting like hell for you" idk what you mean by the question but I'll just explain the whole thing. A white blood cell is the good cells in our body that fight off bacteria, viruses, other bad things in our body and he's calling himself one bc he's fighting off bad stuff in his lady's life like bad people, emotions, etc.
Why does “don’t let the light go out” feel like an LTE version of this song (and I mean no disrespect to Kaleidoscope Eyes, a much much better version)
