Kali in a bosal 

I've grown up using rawhide and rope bosals here in Great Basin country. I don't use them as often as other tools mainly because I focus on the education of the mouth with a bit for very complex and nuanced communication. When I do use a hackamore, it's likely to be a simple rope hackamore. Sometimes a bosal can give you the bits and bobs of signal that a horse receives well as is the case here with Kali. I may have had it on her once before, but not more than that. I think it will be a beneficial tool for her to "cross-train" in...receiving requests through a bit or through the nerves on her nose and chin.
