I have the mackie mr 624. Best buy ever. No humming noise, they dont get hot and very crisp detail. Good low end and very audible even at low volumes.

The Version 2 of the Kali Lp-6's fixed everything reviewers found flawed in the 1st versions. They reduced the noise by 12db, meaning ....there is NO MORE hiss! buy a pair now, theyre incredible, and at $400 for a pair, they CANNOT be beat! I own a pair of Genelec 1030a's, and I just bought a pair of Kali LP-6's for a friends studio, and I'm blown away by how amazing the Kali's sound at that price! Killer deal for pro level monitors!

I have both of these. The Kalis have more bass but I think the mids are a bit muffled. They have a pretty annoying hiss so I got tired of it and put them in my living room. Got the Mackies for my desk. Could not be happier. They sound very very clean even at low volumes. The hiss is not audible at a reasonable distance. The imaging is much better and they have enough bass for me. Thanks for your videos helped me a lot!

Happy owner of LP6s but I think I should've bought the mackies because of the crisp highs. If I close my eyes and listen to this video(audio) I like mackies more than the LPs.

Good comparison, however these two speakers do not compete in size or price, so this is sort of an odd comparison. If you take the tweeter switch on the Mackie down -2 they sound and measure very similar, with the Mackie still giving a bit more midrange detail. You can't compare the bass though - 6.5" vs 5.25" woofers and different enclosure sizes. So only compare midrange and tweeters here. The correct comparison for bass should have been vs the Mackie MR624.

surprised with the sound of the kalis. they are very spacious and relaxed. very nice monitors. mackie 524 i know and are balanced and nice but the bottom end of the kalis is a plus. they seem very natural.

I have the Mackie's and in a comparison to the iLoud Micro they sound incredibly unbalanced and very untrue. I've been struggling with my mixes for some time now. But after watching a few of the videos in this channel I'd say the speaker is not the problem. The room is the problem and the iLoud Micro sounds so much better for having less impact from the room.

It's nice to be able to share my experience with these speakers as I watched and used this channel for many days helping me decide what would be best for me. I decided to get LP6 ordered them then a few hours later decided to get also the MR524 bases on this video comparison, I somehow thought I had made the wrong decision with the LP6 but in real life it was a different story. After they arrived I spent the day with both pairs and I decided in the end to keep the Kali LP6 I found they brought the music to life and sounded organic and real, for me it was a much more exciting and enjoyable speaker by a long way. The Kali seem almost double the size and I thought the Mackie had a better build quality but in the end I loved the Kali's. My listening space is desk against wall about 60cm from the speakers to ear so very close up and the Kali were still my favourite at very low volumes and close listening. I didn't notice any hissing that bothered me yet with LP6

Great idea but shouldn't you have used mackie 6"

I don't like how the Mackie colors the snare drums and the cymbals. I think in this test and other test you've made, they can create ear fatigue.

The Mackies sound better to my ear. The Kali's seem though to be tighter and live much more in the midrange, which probably means they're more accurate. Mackie still wins for me. I do own the Mackie MR624 and they sound similar

Man, your video are amazing, thank you very much! Tnx to your video I bought the Mackie MR524 and now I love them. However is very hard to choose, didn't know Kali and they seems very flat, Mackie seem carved in mid-high but seem give a better stereo image. But I could be wrong, I'm not an expert.

Mackie might not have the most br00tal bass, but they seem more open, transparent and linear. I like how they reproduce transients. Kali have some woolyness in the lower mids, that I'd probably would like to eq out. On the rock track, the cymbals cause nosebleed on the mackies but if you dip the high end, it might work.

@Digital Stereophony I would like to have an answer to the following question... Is there a "hiss" problem with Kali Audio LP-6? I liked also the MR524s although it's not a "fair" comparison... :) the MR624s would be the "right" product to be compared... After a long hearing of your comparisons (believe me I've heard a lot and carefully :) ) I am between LP-6 and MR624 even if I haven't heard them from your channel (by estimating the MR524s only)....and my budget of course :D A comparison of LP-6 / MR624 would be great. Yesterday I stumbled upon your channel while considering to buy a pair of Adam T5V's. Having looked through your fantastic sound demos changed my mind and ordered a pair of Kali LP-6's. But now I'm wondering whether it was a haste mistake or not. Mackies seem to sound crisper and tighter and more open. Maybe it would be better to order a set of 6-inch or even 8-inch Mackies?

Mackie's just don't do it for me, maybe because of 5" woofer compared to the Kali's 6.5". If I was limited to under $350 pair, I'd go with Kali's. Price no object, well then lets hear the Kali LP-8's or IN-8's versus comparably priced Mackie's.

Kali LP-6 or Macki MR524 for Metal music?

Just bought both and im keeping the kali's.....kali's sound wack out the box thats because all dip swithes are down but once you adjust them they sound big and even with +2db hf.... The makies sound clear but thin and small compared to the kali's.

I'd go with mackie especially cause clearly low mid.

Do you have any experience with Fluance speakers? I'm in interested in the edifier r2000db but Fluance ai40 have grabbed my attention with great reviews. However I cannot seem to find any direct comparisons between the two. Any suggestions?
