This is so beautiful! I’m a self taught beginner heading into intermediate level due to RU-vid tutorials like yours. I paint so tight, so detailed that it’s fun yet stressful. I have problems sometimes because I never had an art class or teacher. I make every effort to stay within the tiniest lines, to make everything perfect. Your work here is outstandingly beautiful and it has a relaxed feeling to it. I will have to try to loosen up my techniques. I’d be thrilled to paint something like this. I love sketching.

Wonderful. Very minimalist treatment of the watercolor that suggests detail without being overworked.

Your urban theme painting is very beautiful. This painting is very good in the composition of the natural environment and the city. I think the pen is very easy to learn, and it is easy to use. The picture is mainly yellow and green, but the red house makes the picture change. It is very lively and very lively.你的都市题材画作非常漂亮,这幅画利用自然环境与都市对比的构图非常好,我认为钢笔淡彩很便于大家学习,而且,使用方便,画面以黄绿色为主,但是红色的房屋让画面变得很活泼,很生动。

Hello Teoh, j'aime beaucoup te voir travailler. It inspire me to look at you working with Colors!

This turned out nicely even though the new ink wasn't waterproof. I wouldn't have had your patience to try and salvage a sketch whose lines were smeared. What brand was it? I'm already trying to figure out an issue of my own. I have smooth card stock 78lb/210gsm which is great for my water based markers and other mediums. The thing is Uniball Vision pens' ink is taking like 30 minutes to dry and be stable enough to color over the lines. I'm testing drying times. Will get it figured out.

I do have many brushes but don’t really need so many to paint

Wow, amazing Teoh! Those greens are so nice. Also, I like the non-waterproof ink. See Norberto Dorantes non-waterproof ink work.

Hi Teoh, my heart broke when your ink started bleeding since I've had that happen with inks I thought were waterproof. Do you happen to remember what ink you used so that I can make sure to avoid it in the future? Thanks for all of your great work! Much appreciated.
@teohyc
@teohyc 5 лет назад
I can't really remember. The usual safe waterproof inks are De Atramentis, Sailor KiwaGuro, Platinum Carbon and SketchINK. The ink I was using could be an "expired" Sailor

White gouache is pretty similar across brands. Just go with the usual brands and it should be fine. Mine's from Daler Rowney.

Can I find out what kind of black ink you used for your base sketch? Can you use fountain pen ink? Which kind will last through even after the watercolour paints? Thank you! :)
@teohyc
@teohyc 5 лет назад
For waterproof ink, you can use Dr Atramentis Archive or Sailor KiwaGuro. Both are safe for use in fountain pens

Hi Teoh, I have a Lamy Joy fountain pen with an extra fine nib but the lines are not very fine (it seems to me the same as the fine nib). Could you recommend a pen with a finer nib? I saw that you and Matthias Adolfsson use the Pilot/Namiki Falcon, but it's expensive (150 USD). I worry that I would buy it and then find that I don't need an expensive pen, just more practice, to get a different line quality. I would appreciate your advice. Thank you!
@teohyc
@teohyc 5 лет назад
If you want a real extra fine nib pen, consider the Pilot or Platinum desk pen.
