@@mundanelife16 Hello Jyoti. One of the reason for being so melodious is that all the 4 south Languages (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada) are Shastriya Bhasha's (Classical languages). So apart from the item songs and mass elevation songs other songs are so mellifluous to hear if the music is well composed and well sung. Music of this is by Illayaraja who has composed over a world record of 1000 movies. There is one more song in Tamil if you are interested - which is absolutely divine. As a Malayali and music lover I can even tell the same amount of songs are available in malayalam also but we need to go back to 19s or else 60s-80s, there you can find lot of poetry and Carnatic classics from Vayalar, Devarajan master and Yesudas. If you are keen to listen songs regardless of the language then you will forgot the language barrier.
