I am a proud socialist, and I am voting for Kamala. Not because of her takes on Israel & Gaza, not because I think she's gonna set the political world on fire with radical left policies to really turn everything around, but because we have to make sure we have something to fight for before we do the real work, and if Trump wins, the landscape of our politics and government will change for the worst for potentially generations to come, and that's dangerous. I think we as leftists have become way too idealized that we forget that revolutionary change doesn't occur overnight, especially in a capitalist society. The work begins with first making sure the lowest of bars are cleared, and Kamala (for better or for worse) clears that bar. After she gets into office, the real work can begin by holding her and her administration accountable. I am at least somewhat sure that Kamala will listen to what the people want far more than Trump or his cronies ever would. We have to first play the game before we can change it.

They're not going to win regardless. Imagine they build a big new party that espouses all of their favorite positions. They manage to somehow make it competitive- like they could really win the presidency. How do you staff your campaign? With disaffected Democrats. Who is going to fill all the administrative positions that require someone with some experience? With disaffected Democrats. Who are your voters going to be? Disaffected Democrats. So in the end, you'll end up with a movement that's largely made up of people who were originally Democrats. In this situation you just end up with... a Democratic party with a new name on it. But I'm wasting time here. No one who wants to vote for a third party thinks about these things for real. It's about being a cool leftist because Democrats aren't cool.

Based on the thumbnail, I was worried this was gonna be another like "Kamala is JUST as bad as Trump so don't vote for her... Your suffering is a sacrifice I am willing to make" take, but you have really nailed it down with this one!! I was already subscribed but now I'm double subscribed. No but seriously... I'm tired of that idea that we should reject the next step just because it isn't the top of the staircase. Of letting perfect be the enemy of good. Especially as a trans person, who is TERRIFIED of another Trump term. tylerhackner9731 said it perfectly in this comment section, pressure her heavily and recognize the stakes. It isn't healthy, as we've learned the hard way from Trump, to agree with a politician's stances unconditionally without critical thought in a cult-like manner. I hope Harris isn't the type to fold and double-down on her stance when she faces great criticism. My hopes aren't high, but I guess we'll see. Love ya! Keep making great videos. Edit: Its common for people to misconstrue criticism for Harris on her Palestine stance as complete and total rejection of her. Not a significant number of people are saying we shouldn't vote for her under any circumstance, it really is just the liberals and misguided leftists getting defensive over Harris and insisting that she is perfect. I've fallen into that trap too, I often thought criticism of Biden should be ignored/silenced because it would be harmful to his image and cost him the election, which just led to me being willingly ignorant to his terrible complacency in genocide. You live and you learn. Edit 2: Another crazy, but interesting thing that you touched on which resonates a lot with me: Black people not going to the polls because Kamala "isn't black" or "isn't progressive enough" is LITERALLY what the fascists want. The fascists will take advantage of a progressive movement to serve their own needs. One of the positive things is that AT LEAST she cares about the peaceful transfer of power, voting rights and WOMENS REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOMS and people as a whole not being targeted by a white supremacist presidency. I live in Florida and there are so many houses for sale that no one can afford them. Some developers have decided to rent out new housing development because people can't afford to buy. Her plan is to build more houses? Just decrease inflation. Also, leave other countries alone. Since April 15, 2023, half of Sudan's population, or 25 million people, are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance and protection. We sure seem hyper focused on GAZA. -- when Russia in Sudan Nearly every internal conflict regarding resources ultimately becomes internationalized, and both Russia and China figure in Sudan’s crisis. Sudan is Africa’s third largest producer of gold. Russia is sustaining its war in Ukraine and surviving Western economic sanctions by smuggling gold out of Sudan. There have been at least 16 known Russian gold-smuggling flights out of Sudan since the Ukraine war began. Russia has lent military backing to Sudan’s leadership to quash Sudan’s nascent pro-democracy civilian movement. U.S. officials affirm that Russia actively supported Sudan’s 2021 military coup. I don't know why this Genocide is more important than any other that's taking place, if feels a little political for me. April 15, 2023 - Present Attacks in Darfur have escalated, and experts warn of ongoing ethnic cleansing and genocide. Since April 15, 2023, half of Sudan’s population, or 25 million people, are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance and protection. Roughly 18 million people are facing acute food insecurity, with 8.5 million people acutely malnourished or struggling to survive and an additional 755,000 in famine conditions. It is predicted that in the coming months, 220,000 Sudanese children will die. Additionally, by October 2024 an estimated 2.5 million people could die from hunger-related causes, and at least 14 areas of the country are near famine, yet no famine declaration has been made. The healthcare system is near collapse and contagious diseases are spreading; meanwhile, over 70% of healthcare facilities in regions affected by the conflict are inoperable or closed. Since April 2023, over 10 million people have been internally displaced and over 2 million refugees have fled to neighboring countries. Fighting has been concentrated in the capital Khartoum. However, mass killings and displacement in Darfur have led to reports of ethnic cleansing. The country faces complete economic and social collapse. Just under half of the population is unemployed and the Sudanese pound has lost at least 50% of its value. Internet and telephone access has experienced blackouts during which more than 30 million people had no access for over a month. At least 10,400 schools have been closed, leaving 19 million children without education. The United Nations has only received 17% of its requested $2.7 billion it has requested for Sudan. The UN calls the present situation in Sudan the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. Devolution to Destruction The current mass atrocities in Sudan are the inevitable result of several factors: The West’s failure to realistically assess the goals of the military and paramilitary leaders in Sudan and to naively trust their promise of a democratic transition. An inability to strengthen and support civil society. A withdrawal of multiple peacekeeping forces, placing vulnerable people at increasing risk. No effort to resolve local resource-based conflicts. Limited accountability for previous violence in the region. Inertia among regional mechanisms that could enhance peace, safety, and security, such as the African Union.

What do you actual know about her work as a public servant? I never hear anyone discuss her actual work as a public servant. I'll wait why you look up Trumps? VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS As CALIFORNIA ATTORNEY GENERAL from 2011 to 2017, Kamala Harris worked on several significant policies, bills, and acts. Here are some notable examples: 1. **Criminal Justice Reform**: Harris focused on reforming the criminal justice system, emphasizing rehabilitation and reducing recidivism. Her office worked on initiatives to improve the conditions of prisons and support reentry programs for former offenders. 2. **California Racial and Identity Profiling Act (RIPA)**: Harris supported the passage of RIPA, which requires California law enforcement agencies to collect data on stops, searches, and arrests to combat racial profiling and improve transparency in policing. 3. **Victims' Rights and Support**: Harris advocated for and supported measures to enhance protections and services for victims of crime, including efforts to strengthen the rights of survivors and provide better resources and support services. 4. **Consumer Protection**: Her office took significant actions to protect consumers, including filing lawsuits against companies involved in fraudulent practices. This included cases related to mortgage fraud and deceptive business practices. 5. **Environmental Protection**: Harris supported environmental protection policies and worked on initiatives to address issues related to climate change and pollution, collaborating with various agencies to enforce environmental laws. 6. **Human Trafficking**: Harris was a strong advocate for combating human trafficking. Her office worked to strengthen laws and penalties against traffickers and improve support services for victims. 7. **Marriage Equality**: During her tenure, Harris supported the legal recognition of same-sex marriages and defended the state's position in legal challenges related to marriage equality. 8. **Safe Schools Initiative**: She supported policies aimed at ensuring safer school environments, including efforts to address bullying and harassment. These efforts reflect Harris's broader focus on justice reform, consumer protection, and advocacy for marginalized communities during her time as Attorney General. As a U.S. SENATOR FROM CALIFORNIA from 2017 to 2021, Kamala Harris worked on and supported a variety of policies, bills, and acts across different areas. Here are some notable examples: 1. **Criminal Justice Reform**: - **First Step Act**: Harris supported the First Step Act, which aimed to reform the federal prison system by reducing mandatory minimum sentences for certain non-violent offenses, improving rehabilitation programs, and providing inmates with better opportunities for early release. - **Justice in Policing Act**: Harris co-sponsored this comprehensive policing reform bill, which aimed to address issues related to police misconduct, accountability, and the use of force. It included provisions for banning chokeholds, establishing a national database of police misconduct, and promoting community-based policing. 2. **Healthcare**: - **Affordable Care Act (ACA) Protections**: Harris was a vocal supporter of protecting and expanding the ACA, including efforts to ensure coverage for pre-existing conditions and improve access to affordable healthcare. - **Medicare for All**: Harris co-sponsored the Medicare for All Act, which aimed to create a single-payer healthcare system providing universal coverage for all Americans. 3. **Economic and Labor Issues**: - **Minimum Wage**: Harris co-sponsored the Raise the Wage Act, which sought to increase the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour. - **Equal Pay**: She supported the Paycheck Fairness Act, aimed at closing the gender pay gap and promoting wage equality. 4. **Climate Change and Environmental Protection**: - **Green New Deal**: Harris co-sponsored the Green New Deal resolution, which proposed comprehensive measures to address climate change, create green jobs, and invest in renewable energy. - **Climate Crisis Action**: She worked on legislation to address climate change and promote environmental justice, including supporting policies to reduce carbon emissions and increase investment in clean energy. 5. **Education**: - **Student Loan Debt**: Harris supported various initiatives to address student loan debt, including proposals to make college more affordable and provide relief for borrowers. - **Higher Education Act**: She co-sponsored legislation to reform the Higher Education Act, aiming to increase funding for historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and improve access to higher education. 6. **Gun Control**: - **Background Checks**: Harris co-sponsored the Background Check Expansion Act, which aimed to require background checks for all gun sales, including those conducted online and at gun shows. - **Assault Weapons Ban**: She supported measures to ban the sale and manufacture of assault weapons. 7. **Voting Rights**: - **For the People Act**: Harris co-sponsored this major voting rights and election reform bill, which aimed to expand voter access, reduce the influence of money in politics, and improve election security. - **Voting Rights Act**: She supported efforts to restore and strengthen provisions of the Voting Rights Act to protect against voter suppression. 8. **Immigration**: - **Dream and Promise Act**: Harris co-sponsored this bill aimed at providing a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children (Dreamers) and those with temporary protected status. These legislative efforts reflect Harris's focus on issues related to justice reform, healthcare, economic equality, environmental protection, education, and civil rights during her time in the Senate. As VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, Kamala Harris has been involved in several key initiatives and policies, though her role is more supportive and advisory compared to when she was a legislator. Here are some notable areas where she has played a significant role: 1. **COVID-19 Response**: - **American Rescue Plan Act**: Harris played a key role in advocating for and supporting the American Rescue Plan, which provided economic relief during the COVID-19 pandemic. This included direct stimulus payments to individuals, extended unemployment benefits, and funding for vaccine distribution. 2. **Infrastructure**: - **Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act**: Harris supported and promoted the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which aims to improve the nation's infrastructure, including investments in roads, bridges, public transit, broadband, and clean energy. 3. **Climate Change**: - **Climate Action**: Harris has been involved in the Biden administration’s efforts to combat climate change, including supporting policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote renewable energy, and address environmental justice issues. 4. **Voting Rights**: - **For the People Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act**: Harris has been an advocate for federal voting rights legislation. Although these bills faced significant challenges in Congress, she has supported efforts to expand voting access and protect election integrity. 5. **Economic Equity**: - **Small Business Support**: Harris has worked on policies to support small businesses, particularly those owned by minorities and women, through access to funding and resources as part of broader economic recovery efforts. 6. **Gun Violence Prevention**: - **Gun Control Advocacy**: Harris continues to support measures aimed at reducing gun violence, including strengthening background checks and banning assault weapons, aligning with the administration’s broader gun control agenda. 7. **Immigration**: - **Immigration Reform**: Harris has supported the Biden administration's immigration reform efforts, including providing a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, addressing root causes of migration, and improving border management. 8. **Gender Equality**: - **Support for Women's Rights**: Harris has continued to advocate for gender equality issues, including advancing women's rights in the workplace, addressing domestic violence, and supporting reproductive rights. While the Vice President’s role is often more focused on supporting and facilitating the administration’s agenda rather than directly sponsoring legislation, Kamala Harris has been instrumental in promoting and advancing these key policy areas during her tenure.

I appreciate what you’ve done to try to bring the facts and to approach this thoughtfully. Below are my thoughts: I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, I understand the strategy of voting for her. I think many people are saying “she doesn’t have their vote” to use their vote as bargaining power because if she’s already got it you have nothing to bargain with. I also think if we’re going to sit here and talk about fascism being on the rise and a pressing threat, then we have to acknowledge that nothing being done or said on that stage is a counter to that. It’s a vote to stave off something that will continue to be there, and its threat will only be more legitimate if we’re only focused on reifying the institutions, including the military and policing, that fascism needs in order to take hold. It’s not like Kamala is running on an anti fascism platform, so treating her like the solution to it comes across disingenuous. Which isn’t what Kirby has done here at all, but it is something I see a lot from people trying to persuade others to vote for her. And I don’t think it’s helpful. The thing about an arms embargo is that it’s literally just asking the government to follow its own laws. It’s within our own laws that money and arms not be provided to a nation engaging in the kind of violences the Israeli colony is. Our government is actively disregarding its own laws and the institutions it’s helped create. All because of the economic, military, and ideological gains it gets from the existence of this colony. That’s a dangerous precedent being set that only reaffirms fascism. So I think this is a big part of what drives people to feel like the choices don’t look different to them. I’ve always voted and I’ll continue to vote but I just want us to be able to do two things at once. To not be so fixated on moralizing our decisions that we lack the ability to critically engage with the negative aspects of what our decisions mean and the results it has for people we likely will never know. You can’t chastise people for not voting when voting is widely inaccessible, even without rhetoric and propaganda. The lack of covid policy literally makes going to vote dangerous for vulnerable people. Some people don’t have the ability to get proper documentation. Staff is often ill-informed or intentionally malicious in stopping people from voting. People don’t have free time or the money and transportation needed to get to the polls. Theres just always more to the story, and idk, I guess I just want us to approach things with more grace for others. I’m sorry that this is so damn long.

Tyla never denied her blackness, she just clarified that she is Coloured. We (South Africans) were not segregated the same way as you, there was no one-drop rule here. We have been continuously colonised for over 400 years and if you insist on speaking on South Africa, please do the reading. Americans are quick to say "Blackness is not a monolith" until the reality of that actually hits yall in the face. Just because we are African we must be the purest bread of black in the way that you define blackness? Please guys, respect our struggles and our trauma. Anyway, love your work.

America is founded on racism. So when Tyla comes to America we need to know if she with or against us. We need to know if she 's black or what she identifies as because that's how things work in America. She can be Coloured but we still reserve the right to ask "Do you fuck with black people and black culture?". Black Americans aren't the brightest as a collective. However, we've been let down by people claiming to be black and loving black culture publicly, and being the most anti-black and racist people behind closed doors. If she's Coloured then she isn't black, because Coloured is a race, no? She has 'black' in her but is she 'black'? That's what we're asking

But the Team needs to understand that if she isn't a Black then they need to sell her as they would a white girl making what the people feel like is Black music. I'd just say Good Luck with that one. Full offense but being “progressive” and choosing not to vote over Palestine/Dems not doing everything the way you want is nothing more than virtue signaling. And that WILL have consequences for pretty much anyone who isn’t a white man in a majority blue state. Neither side is great, but to act like they’re even comparable in how they’d treat us is delulu. Keep advocating for ceasefire and change in our country 10000%, but please for the love of minorities, go out and vote!

I’m not American but THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING it is really disheartening to see all these progressive virtue signalling activists on Instagram and tiktok saying that they’re not gonna vote Kamala over this single issue sure she’s not the best candidate but she is CLEARLY better the better candidate and the other issues on the ballot too are also interconnected with what’s going on in Palestine too. She said she’s going to work towards getting a ceasefire while trump told the blue and white country not accept a US-backed ceasefire deal that was being proposed. And not to mention that the majority of those who are pro Palestine are queer/bipoc/disabled people or their identities intersect between these 3 groups and come from middle/lower income backgrounds which project 2025 is gonna be detrimental too (Bonus points if they’re are also apart of these minority groups too). How are you going to be able to advocate for Palestine when your income and freedoms have been heavily suppressed? If you want to help others you need to be able to help yourself. I get that people want to advocate for Palestine but the question is what kind of political environment you want to do that in? One with a president who will accept being held accountable and is willing to negotiate or one who will shut down all opposition completely? The day that people learn what opportunity cost is, we will be slightly closer to world peace

I hate how people act like they can chat gpt her record and keep acting like she is some mystery that can't be figured out and they don't know where she came from and they can't figure out her political stance. It's all extra for me and ridiculous.

I get that she has to "look strong" due to her being a woman of color and perceived as "perhaps too soft" by potential voters but saying this in the context of possibility of a global Middle Eastern war after 10 months of gen0cide unconditionally funded by her own administration, and knowing the past of the US army, is seriously worrying. I will never be able to understand the position of being anti-prosecutor. It is a position no more evil than a Defense attorney. Within the confines of a court system, a prosecutor and defense attorney are needed. Both sides can do great good and bad depending on how you want to view it. Defense attorneys can get an evil person scot-free. Or help protect an innocent. A prosecutor can get a sex offender sent to jail or attack and get an innocent locked up. At the end of the day, both jobs are equally good and terrible they are dependant on those within them. They are not the cause of the prison industrial complex but rather a byproduct and being specifically anti-prosecutor is rather rediculous and close-minded.

When talking about the Israel issue, you're either being disingenuous or you're just uninformed about what progressives actually realistically want from her. She could have avoided calling explicitly for an arms embargo without messaging so aggressively pro-Israel. There are tons of ways she could subtly signal to progressives that she will be at least slightly better than Biden on Israel in a way that would play well even to people who sympathize more with Israelis than Palestinians. Instead, the DNC chose to signal that they plan to continue Biden's policy pretty much exactly on this issue. They could have allowed a Palestinian speaker to ENDORSE KAMALA at the DNC. People think the speaker would have been critical of her, but you can read the speech and it just wasn't. Kamala could have also just not emphasized having the most "lethal" military or repeated the old unsubstantiated claims of sexual violence on Oct 7. Nobody is expecting them to come out pro-Palestinian in any meaningful way, so the data you mention is irrelevant. We would just like her to be any tiny bit less aggressive in the unconditional support of Israel, which would leave her more room to actually make meaningful changes after becoming president. It would also likely be good strategically, as there is a lot of polling to suggest that conditioning aid to Israel and getting a ceasefire would make voters (especially in swing states) MUCH more likely to vote for Kamala. Virtually everyone in the uncommitted movement understands exactly how bad Trump would be on this issue. They're not idiots. They're just doing everything they can to pressure Kamala to end the genocide because just having a democrat in office has not been good enough, and because there are ways for her to pivot which would help her election chances rather than hurt them.
