Same here, facts and data are of no use when that card is played - it's right up there with the "I know things you don't," card that Nixon kept playing. There's no intent of honesty, integrity, or fairness with someone who uses that tactic. When I was younger I'd still try to reach them because such people are not in a kind place and I figured they could use someone around them who cares, but the routine never changes, and I've grown tired of it.

I am a Christian of strong faith and I have loved metal music since I first heard it in the late 1970's. I've been in metal bands on and off for decades and I have been writing what I refer to as "worship music for metalheads." My wife is a metal fan, an artist, and a Christian. My wife and I have started a small business building custom and semi-custom electric guitars and basses, and we are guided in our daily lives by the teachings and example of Jesus Christ, which does not teach judgement and condemnation of your neighbor. He not only calls us to, but commands us to, "love your neighbor as yourself." You absolutely are correct in being thankful for your son pursuing his dreams of being a performing musician, achieving a level of success, and being a good person. God bless and take care!

Alice Cooper is a prodigal son. Father was a pastor, he lost his way then found it some years later. When he found his faith again, he had a talk with his pastor and said in short that he assumed he would have to stop being Alice Copper and singing his music. The pastor assured him God gave him a gift and even if lyrics or content are edgy he was singing from his heart and soul and telling a story. Not all stories are pretty and lovely, some are darker and deeper and can even remind us of the cruelty of life. I like music for the beat and how it can make me feel depending on my mood, all types from oldies, rap, rock etc. I always found it odd that so my Christians worry about what they watch and listen to, is your faith that little that a dirty movie scene or a occasional curse word will convert you to a life of sin?

I subscribed to this channel because after all of the doom and gloom on the news I needed the reminder that there are some very good people among the religious. I can't say that I find religion convincing, but this guy is a good man, and THAT I can appreciate.

I'm not a Christian or even religious but something deep down within me tells me to never fully dismiss the ideas of religious and spiritual groups because there might be some truth to it however it definitely doesn't tell me to accept the ideas of the zealots as they use those ideas and beliefs as an excuse to hurt and for self benefit and gain the reason I don't dismiss what people like Christians are saying is because if it is true then then the worst among them will eventually be held accountable for the horrendous things they've done and they won't be able to con their way out of the divine justice like some of them have with mortal justice I am a believer of the concept of karma in the idea that karma will get you in this life or if there is one the next so I believe in the idea that you reap what you sow

Wow! Just curious, you called this person a religious prophet. Was she a reverend, pastor, or a priest? Not having done so myself, I don't know, but would like to believe those in seminary ti become first a deacon than a priest if so chooses, one reads not only Christian teachings, but also Is given education of the basic underlying faith at least the major other religions. Rev. Ed, could you do a video of what priests are taught in seminary? We're you taught the basic teachings of other religions to compare and contrast with Christianity and what basic beliefs are shared. Especially with the Christian, Judaism, and the Teachings of Islam who share, if I'm correct a common geographic area of the city of Bethlehem. But I digress, I can't believe how expanding one's religious understanding can be anything but a positive thing for anyone.

The ones chosen were sent when the religious systems were corrupted. Jesus, for example, operated outside of the religious institutions of his day. David was a shepherd boy only in charge of watching over a few sheep when he was chosen to be king. Perhaps the formal training that is expected is not what we should be looking for.

@MelanieNLee I've come across more than one version of this story. In some, the boy is eaten, in others the sheep are eaten and in still others, the boy and the sheep are eaten. If there really was no wolf, no one would've been eaten. That anyone, boy or sheep, was eaten says that there was indeed a wolf.

As a born-again Christian, I've also come to the conclusion that too many of our evangelical approaches are fear-based rather than faith-based, love-based, joy-based, or service-based. Fear-based evangelism is a good tool for producing followers who are afraid to question whatever the preacher says in the name of God.

If Satan and demons were real, the criminals wouldn't have had to go through all those elaborate tricks to fool us. The Satanic panic was so stupid because certain people, inflamed by their religious beliefs, went nuts when some children disclosed they were being abused and told of the abusers weird practices that were meant to scare the kids into silence. People didn't focus on the sexual abuse, the trafficking of the kids, they focused on Satan and the demons and helped the trafficking groups hide their criminal behaviour. Disgusting.

“Smurfs” might have been demonic. One of my friends had a habit of falling asleep in front of the TV on Friday nights. The theme music from that cartoon would wake him up and then he’d have the tune stuck in his head. After about a month of this, dude was trippin’ balls LOL. Demonic oppression?
