There's a difference between judging for ourselves who will go to heaven or hell, and judging who is worthy to receive our votes for political office. As good citizens of our country, we are required to make judgements about who we vote for! I believe that God forgives Trump, as He forgives all of us, but that doesn't mean I would ever, ever, ever vote for the man! Because I agree with you- he is an existential threat to our democracy.

I live in the USA. I so wish that those who follow Trump, could see how dangerous he is. I’m 57 years old and for the 1st time in my life, I am afraid what will happen here in America. My mom is 97 and voted Republican most of her life. She too reacted like your mom to Trump and voted for someone else in 2016. In 2020, I helped her vote for Biden. She was so appalled at the GOP and Trump she said, just vote down the Democratic line. She never did that in her life. She's still with us today and doing well. Everyday she hopes he will be beaten. I tell her stay alive to the end of the year to get your vote in once again. I thought 2020 would be her last election! The greatest generation was great for a reason.
