As someone who worked in food service during the height of the pandemic, I did too. You can tell a lot of a person from how they treat strangers in food service or retail. Which lets me know even if it’s just for the cameras, which I don’t think it is, Walz is good people. I would be happy to have him as a regular over Vance, where I would just pretend to be nice like those donut shop workers and then he leaves and we all give each other looks.
@@ilikebeingsmart except we know it wasnt just for the camera , he would have had a gaf by now if it was , hes just genuinely that guy. Cant fake that.
I don’t know. It seems much less sincere and relatable than just asking everyone in the room how long they’ve worked there and then blankly replying “Okay” when they answer, no matter what they say.
I somehow startled myself with the noise I made laughing at this. It's the caring way he said it. Never has the crying laughing emoji felt so accurate. 🤣
As a former service worker, I believe with my full being that the way someone treats service workers tells you everything about their character. I also worked in public schools and teachers receive similarly harsh criticism from parents and undue expectations from their superiors. It doesn’t surprise me that he understands the intrinsic value of working a thankless job. I’ve also worked doing manual labor in 100 degree summer, under direct sunlight, cutting down and dragging trees across a sandy fake beach into a wood chipper spitting out sawdust onto my skin sticky with sweat. As horrible as that was, I didn’t have to smile when I did it, I didn’t have someone barking at me if I went too slow or made a mistake, I didn’t have to worry about the trees filling out a baseless complaint for which I was nevertheless reprimanded, and I didn’t have to rely on the charity of strangers to pay me tips so I could afford more than just survival. I’d take that wood chipper hell over the soul-sucking of the service industry 10 out of 10 times. Walz acknowledging that those employees are doing something valuable tells you so much about him and his character.
You do realize the more people say, “the way someone treats a service worker shows you who they are..” the more people can pretend to be kind to service people right? I had one of the kindest partners who was incredibly nice to service workers and everyone else, but mean and cruel to me. Everything is not black and white.
@@jasminer66788 You have a point. But I guess interpreting my comment to be universally applicable and accurate is sort of a black and white reading of it. Obviously bad people can be selectively nice and nice people can have bad days. But it’s nevertheless an indicator of someone’s character, in my opinion, albeit not the only one.
The fashion bloggers want us to know that they're calling that shade of tan "coconut" and calling it a double reference -- both to Obama's suit AND to Kamala's “You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?”
Some guy on Fox was complaining that in the beginning she only wore browns and greys. And now she's wearing colors!! I think it was that fashionista Sean Hannity.
That moment with Gus Walz perfectly captured the humanity vs insanity choice this November. How could anyone not be moved? Oh yeah; malignant narcissist and his cult followers.
Remember how we kept Barron Trump's name out of our mouths? MAGA needs to do the same with other people's minor children!! Ann Coultier is one disgusting jerk!
Can you imagine that Trump might have actually read any briefings and documents during his presidency if they had made his bathroom a document bathroom and taken away his phone before he'd gone in there. Would have improved his job performance a lot
Just call them aholes. I don’t like giving them the name “weirdos” because it’s reminiscent of neurotypicals bullying neurodivergent people for liking hobbies. And I love Weird Al😅 I request to just call them what they are “aholes” They aren’t interesting enough to be weirdos.
How long you been here? Okay. How long you been here? Okay. What about you? Okay. How about telling them Trump will raise the minimum wage, $7.25 currently. (Sarcasm.)
The most bizarre thing about JD’s visit to the donut shop is that his campaign team thought it’d be a good idea to release the video. Did they visit 5 other places where his awkwardness was so bad that this seemed ebullient by comparison?
"Sometimes, you just have to take a punch for the children" is a quote that will stay with me for the rest of my life, as is the sweet way Pelosi delivered it. What a damn legend.
While it is plausible that his family might have had the distinct inclination to leave JD behind at the Grand Canyon as a child, I think the comparison to Joe Dirt is unfair. Joe Dirt had charisma and a kind of rough and ready integrity that Jeffrey Dahmer Vance could only hope in vain to knit together from the debris behind his soda cushions.
Sure, if you think it’s funny taking cheap shots at our president who actually beat Trump. That earns him respect. Some Dems are ingrates. Not to mention all the good things he accomplished. All that doesn’t matter because he’s old?
Thanks Lovett or Leave It, for pushing through and after four days of paradigm shift DNC with DJ's, making this wonderful and oh so funny What a Week! I laughed and laughed, GOOD Medicine/BEST Medicine as usual! Great audience vibes from the Vic too!🙏😂💗💯
Next time I’m in line for donuts, or bagels for that matter, I’m just going to ask for “ whatever makes sense”. No I’m not, because I’d be laughing so hard I would piss my pants.
Yes, especially all her knowledge about great stock investments...almost as if she was an...insider with knowledge who blocked legislation against that type of trading in Congress. Total rock star behavior.
"He probably doesn't even have a chandelier in his documents bathroom" 😂😂😂😂 I burst out laughing sat at a bench outside by myself with my headphones on and the smell of freshly smoked pot in the air
Lol @ "Stfu, we have business to attend" Was that a reference to what Kamala Harris says when crowds are cheering for too long: "thank you, thank you, but we have to get down to business 😆"
Thank you for blurring the woman who did not want to be on camera. Every other outlet has shared that video without doing so, a horrific invasion of her privacy, and grounds for her to sue.
I'm going to find the roll call and watch that. 9 to 5 for Tennessee, Dolly Parton. The DJ said he's worked for 3 weeks solid to get meaningful song for each state.
"And though the forest was shrinking, the trees kept voting for the axe, for the axe was clever and convinced the trees that since her handle was made of wood, she was one of them."
I didn't realise how much I'd missed the jokes (shout out writers!) this past week until "are you free friday stop". You all are FAF and bring me a lot of joy. Stay wonderful, stay awesome. Stay a democracy!🤞
@floridamanrides863 RFK JR'S speech was very disturbing! As a woman, I felt like his speech was an excuse for men to marry 10 years olds to grape them. I am so disgusted!
Does sandwich work? Is it more like an empanada, where you cook the meat and then stuff it in a roll to bake/fry? I’m from Arizona so maybe I’m overthinking it, but one day I’ll try one and I wanna get the vernacular right.
@Lovett I'm enjoying your JD names. I've been doing the same. Mine are Jizzon Divan Vance and Jackoff Davenport Vance. You are free to use them. 😁 Oh, and if you can think of a synonym for couch that starts with J, J_____ Diddler Vance is waiting on the sidelines.
