The Kaman SH-2G Super Seasprite manufactured by Kaman Aircraft is a ship-based helicopter with anti-submarine, anti-surface threat capability. The SH-2G Super Seasprite was the first helicopter qualified with the Kaman Magic Lantern airborne laser mine detection system. The SH-2G Super Seasprite is a fully integrated, multi-mission maritime weapon system designed to fulfill anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASuW), over the horizon targeting, surveillance, troop transport, vertical replenishment, search and rescue, and utility missions. The maiden flight of the SH-2G Super Seasprite took place on the 2nd of April 1985 and it went into service in 1993. Primary users are the United States Navy, Egyptian Navy, Royal New Zealand Navy and the Polish Navy. The SH-2G Super Seasprite is still in service however retired in 2001 in USA and Australia in 2008. Cost per unit is approx. 26 million USD. See other image at goo.gl/FCTqFW
