I came back to rewatch this after Khamzat's fight against Burns , I can see that Burns did great against both of them.Usman is still more experienced where he doesn't rush Gilbert after he has him on the ground , Khamzat ate lots of blows because he wanted to end it too soon.
Khamzat learned a lot yesterday and if he fights colby or usman he will win… gilbert had the hardest perparation he ever had and even trained with usman…. Khamzat will destroy them
I doubt he'll destroy Usman..... Both Khamzat and Usman have a lot of similarities.... Both are strong as fuck, both have iron chins, both have the will power to win.... But Usman has the experience advantage..... Usman just has to much heart and determination to let Khamzat walk over him .... It'll be a battle for sure ... I can never go against Usman until someone show they can dethrone the King.... Khamzat can be the next King but he'll have to get past that other Monster name Usman
I came back here as well after watching the other fight, and honestly i think the only thing Usman has going on for him is experience. If Usman and Khazamat happens, Usman is gonna lose his belt.
I'm watching this after that 3 round war between Khamzat and Burns just to see how good Usman really is !!!! But after seeing it it made me realize how good Khamzat is as well !!
Bro in their fight Gilbert did what khamzat was doing against him keep pushing forward without fighting iQ we see how Usman is calm and controllig the fight even when Gilbert get rocked still Usman going smart and slow but khzat was browsing with Gilbert that's why Gilbert almost get him I think Usman is the best IQ fighter>colby >Gilbert >khamzat but gain if khamzat sharpen his skills he is gonna be the key to Usman puzzle
Burns got dropped by a jab in both fights.Crazy skilled fighter Burns is,but he is way better offensively than defensively.Usman who also doesnt have the best head movement(thats maybe hes only or least one of few weaknesses) got hit ba a big overhand and a couple of other strikes.Khamzat ate a lot of strikes in the fight. So i think he is not ready for Usman yet although hes cardio looked good it could be a great fight.
Creepy how calm and consistent he is in his fights, the confidence to stick with the game plan get rocked and continue that jab was amazing to witness.
Regardless of what Burns was throwing, the look of supreme confidence never left Usman's face He knew it was only a matter of time and he kept his cool and was patient... That patience is an important aspect of his game that Nganou got from Usman and Izzy... That is the hallmark of a true champion.
Facts, and when Usman landed that pullback right in the 2nd you could literally see Burns shit himself. No disrespect obviously but the difference between them getting rocked just goes to show Usmans confidence
You can clearly see Burns lost all his confidence once he ate that solid straight right hand from Usman, damn the fight game is crazy. He was winning until that moment!
So far Burns gave Usman the most danger. Colby lasted 5 rounds and looked great both fights, but never hurt Usman this bad. But gadamn, Kamaru is a beast.
The crazy thing is that Usman isn't as technical or as strong as them. He's an "ok" offensive fighter. His strength lies in his endurance. He could receive a truck to the head and act like nothing happened.
I agree that damagewise Burns definitely hits harder than Colby, but Colby figured Usman out in the last two rounds of the rematch. Burns could not get past that jab at all it spelled his doom. Colby was getting inside it and tuning Usman up. I don't see Colby KOing Usman, but if the Colby that figured out Usman from round 4 could take that knowledge and give it to the Colby in round 1 I see him winning a decision.
@@est.sar.9276 4 out of 6? What are you talking about? Do you mean 4 out of 5? If so you must mean the first fight cause definitely not the second, and even still you could maybe argue Colby did win those rounds but… he got finished
You could tell Usman didn't relish beating someone he respects. He felt bad for Burns and was a gentleman about it after, its tough seeing someone getting rocked like that especially when you know that person respects you. I'd love to see a Usman vs Burns 2.
@Mark Smith I'm sure you wanted him to lose. You had rather see him act all friendly and lose his belt..that belt is more valuable than their friendship. That belt helps usman earn millions and one if the highest paid in ufc
Yeah, he had to get himself into that killer mindset so if we're honest there came a point where they weren't nice to each other in the buildup to the fight. That's just how it is. But Usman is helping Burns with his training camp against Khamzat and it seems like they haven't lost any respect for one another at all. Both good dudes. The guy on the other side doesn't have to be terrible for another to be great, they can both be great fighters and class acts.
Usman came out with that jab after the first round.. n really changed the fight. That's nuts. Cus when he was throwing hands.... Burns was tagging em. Great adjustment. Great corner coaching
A good jab is a game changer. Look at how Anthony Joshua was able to keep Andy Ruiz outside of his range so effectively. A good jab stops a lot of fighters from being able to get anything done.
@@au_natural to be honest, he forgot about his jab in the first because Burns was throwing the sink on him. Since they were training partners, he knows Burns cannot get away from his jab.
Credit Herb for an amazing stoppage. Noticed a third head strike bounce off the canvas and called it. Gave Gilbert a chance to survive as a championship fight deserves.
herb is a trash ref and they should fire his ass, either you stop the fight or you don't but herb is always so uncertain and ends up getting in the way
@@xCallxMExJJx I’m not complaining about early or late stoppages, it’s the uncertainty. He leans over and gets in the way and almost looks like he’s gonna step on the fighter, either you stop it or you don’t and if you don’t then stay out of the way
Watching this after Burn's war with Khamzat. How does anyone in their right mind call Usman scared of anyone. Guy's a monster at the top of the mountain beating everyone
Because like you said. You've seen the war and saying this with hindsight. Nobody's been calling Usman scared anymore. That was a casual fan narrative prior to Khamzat being tested.
Not seen many fights from burns but gah dam this dude is a specimen, no matter how undefeated you are if you go rounds with burns you’re getting rocked for sure
Bro I was losing my mind watching this. If only burns could've capitalized on that right hook and avoided the jab of Usman smh. I'd be very interested to see how burns does against Covington
He stupidly pulled a guard when he was rocking Usman. Thats y l always said Bjj practitioners who dont know how to take down is like having a gun without bullet.
Covington vs burns is the fight to make, if Leon Edwards beats masvidal he will fight usman and will probably lose to usman. After that would be usman vs khamzat if/when he makes it to title contention. I think Covington only way back to the title is if he fights burns and beats him, which I favor Colby doing, then fight Leon edwards after he loses usman then he fights the next best person lower the khamzat probably Vicente luque, stephen Thompson, or some good up in coming fighter and beat them. He can’t just wait for the title shot like he did this time, he has to stay active.
@@someguynamedsteve3753 Dana will pull Masvidal off Leon fight and replace Hazmat instead(I heard Dana is looking for a fight for Hazmat b4 the end of the year ). Saving Masvidal for Colby fight next year they gon do TUF. PPV sell gonna be off the top of the roof.
@@someguynamedsteve3753 covigton vs Burns est clairement le combat que j'aurai voulu voir avant la revanche de covigton .Burns a la puissance covigton a la boxe.
This was the hardest fight that Usman had until now without a doubt...Gilbert Burns is an animal,he just need to work more on the boxing and he would be much more dangerous cos he hits hard asf...Can't wait the fight against Khamzat, then we can see how much Burns improved and on the other side we can see how Khamzat will manage the top 5 guys and how a fight against Usman can be
I'm confident Khamzat will smash everybody. He trains really hard everyday and doesn't follow the conventional thoughts like black belt, palmares and so on. He fights and kills you no matter who you are, he focuses only on what he has to do.
Yeah but excuses as always u see here. Nobody need Usman to be champ. They want him dethroned as soon as possible. I see many of the comments all over RU-vid disrespecting Usman. Good for Usman though to prove whole MMA fans wrong by murdering his opponents in the ring. Champ shit.
Just came to rewatch it after khamzat vs burns and thinking either burns has improved a lot(He was great in this fight too) or Usman is on another level.
Usman is definitely on another level. His jab hurts people. Nobody can throw a jab better in the UFC. This is coming from a guy who wants to see Usman get beat too.
@@brocrutter1025 Yes, I absolutely agree. I also want someone to dethrone Usman and I had high hopes with Khamzat but after today's fight, I am not that confident in Khamzat. I hope though he works on his mistake and do the impossible.
Gilbert had no answer for Usmans jab - just to keep trying to dirty box- which Usman answered with a jab to keep him away - Gilbert needs to work in his boxing
Usman also needs to improve his boxing. It's not okay for him to be getting hit so often, and he ducks too often. Gilbert is a JJ specialist, not a boxer.
@James Sunderland gilbert convinced himself that he lost because he threw everything in the first round and that gased himself out. Bullshit. He just had no answer to the jabs. That's it. If they fight again, the same will happen.
@@l.f.r.6523 hmm no. What I've seen here is very very different. Burns only needs to add a little bit of head movement to his game...and usman would have no tools. Burns is the better fighter in everyway, he showed it here. But the one thing usman had was that jab. If Burns counters that jab usman has no way to win. Better head movement and a different guard...gilbert burns has certainly displayed something to people who understand fighting. He will be champ I have no doubt in my mind. You'll see, when he fights khamzat, gilbert wins by stoppage in round 2 or 3.
Man! Gilbert had this fight, from the start, surprising how he let it slip away. I am just coming back after watching Khamzat vs Burns, after watching this fight I still cant believe Khamzat beat Burns. Should give credit to Khamzat's Chin, what a warrior. I am a Khamzat fan but today I became a Gilbert fan too, these guys have amazing sportsmanship. Gilbert won our hearts by even accepting the fight. Gilly you are a true warrior.
great comment , same here , just came to watch how burns did against usman , and realised that khamzat just won against a hell of a warrior , the fight made me believe that burns got everything to be at the top he had usman and chimaev mutiple times , also chimaev hype is real.
Yes. Absolutely a new fan also here This gilbert is an animal man. But even makes me realize how crazy khamzat really is. Fighting against his ego.... Can not use his game (ground game) and still won against burns. Damn Thats just sick
Oh man, same here. I got the recommendation to check this fight out, as I missed it first time around, to see how good Usman really is...yeah, he's good, and right now with the addition of Borz, there are 4 people in that division who could wear that strap-all depends on the day of that fight and who has the better day. It's like a 4-way, could-go-any-way. The rounds have shown Usman can be beaten...if anyone has the beat chance him, I believe it's Colby. How many rounds have they gone now? I think he'll (Colby) have a solid, experienced (key word), grind him down game plan next time. Plus the hands gotta work in Colby's favor. If Colby can't take it from him next time, he never will...
@@mmaminds9771 I agree with you mostly. It was a draw imho. I think they score for takedowns too, not sure about that part. If they would have announced Burns as winner, khamzat fans would have felt the same way. I think UFC wanted to keep Khamzat's hype going so that is good for them.
This is really prime Usman, he was unstoppable literally. Had the most powerful Jab in all of mixed martial arts and his wrestling was probably the best in the UFC at this point, I truly thought only retirement would’ve stopped this man.
Khamzat if played lil bit smarter he would have beaten burns EASY,khamzat is on another level. Even after playing so dumb he can win like that,so imagine he plays smart and stick to gameplay and wrestling
@@SaimKhan-xj5um lol "could've beat him easily" stfu he got humbled a d thought he could walk through burns and ended up getting dropped 2 times in the whole fight while khazmat only dropped him once lol
Even as a person who doesn't know that much about MMA you can see these three fighters are so close that it boils down to not getting in a hurry to win. Anyone who disrespect Burns for being upset after losing has no idea what it takes to get right where he is. Both just just really good people.
100% the two of them are on a whole different level over the rest in that weight class. Hence why they have a respect level for each other. They know what they bring to the table.
If Usman didn't cheat in both of those fights he would have lost. He cheated in both fights only reason he won and in the rematch a lot of people think Colby still got robbed, they didnt even count the 2 takedowns Colby got on Usman what kind of fighting is that.
Burns was chopping him down until he got rocked. All confidence was lost, movements became bad, fight lost. It was almost like that punch scared him and he didnt want get hit like that again.
No an Usman fan but in awe of the great Burns but those jabs were one of the best I’ve seen inside the cage…pointy and well targeted like bullets to the head. Amazing work
the boxing that usman displayed in the second round was so crisp, leading with the jab and countering with the right when the space opens up. his development is crazy
The thing is Usman has vastly improved his striking as we seen in the 2nd Masvidal and Colby fight. He was already good here but he's another level now.
Gilbert throws hard, Usmans jab, man that thing is lit, holds pretty low and it comes out of nowhere, his Right straight is power, Colby is a beast for surviving those god level weapons. When Usman pumps that left jab Gilbert was countering and missing. Great reach and distance management. Usman is the true Champ.
I’m sorry but Usman’s Jab is freaking beautiful to watch. Look at how he throws it like there’s no draw back. Like a snake attack. Effortless and his body doesn’t even move when he does it. It doesn’t matter if you have a chin or not, if you don’t see a punch coming it’s easier to get knocked out.
@@cholinegarcia2200 Yes, but he also got hit a lot and has suspect defence when he retreats. He's got to be more alert against Colby this upcoming weekend.
Y’all seen what happened? Usman started to use length with the jab. Stick n move. He started taking less shots and with the jab over and over again it set up a perfectly timed right. It caught Gilbert off balance and then he loaded up again with timely power shots. Burns tried to grapple but the takedown was stuffed and then Usman just went right back to the handy dandy jab to finish it off. It looked to be a close fight until the jab started to play a major role in giving more damage, taking less damage and then setting up a perfectly timed right.
NO It was not. Colby was by a country mile. Burns hurt him, but Usman was never in any real danger of losing this fight. Against Colby Usman would have lost the fight if it was not for the 10-8 round.
Usman "PUT SOME RESPECT ON MY NAME" he definitely deserved it I think we've forgot how good Burns is he's the only one to almost knock out the champ...
even though Usman got clipped by right hand he kept his composure and cool, not everyone can do that, people go panic mode or get emotional and lose, but he didnt rush or panic he retrieved himself and came back stronger it shows how tough his and why he is a champion
Atitude de kamuru Usman fez muito chorarem pela tristeza que ele ficou , com a tristeza do Gilberto Durinho, kamuru pode ser forte mas ficou muito triste, tem um um bom coraçao.
I love how calm and strong Kamaru was. He kept stand in 1st round receiving Burns's strokes. His jabs was amazing and effective ! That was how he dominated 2nd and 3rd round. Good game from both fighters. PS. Burns will be tough opponent for Khamzat Chimaev I think
This was Kamaru at his peak. We gotta see what he looks like after the right hand surgery/injury. But for sure, if he's 100 percent I believe the will take Khamzat to school
@@jeffwise2819 ok we will revisit this convo after the fight if it gets made. I think you just fell for the hype of khamzat. I know exactly what I’m looking at. Unlike you I don’t just follow hype. I analyze
Usman can really take shots as a champ, and his confidence level was way above the best shots he received. Burns did rock Usman in this fight, but this fight only shows that Usman only adjusted to a certain type of level to knock out Burns. But his two fights with Colby shows a different level of Usman's capability of taking striking shots (either wild or calculated). While taking shots, Usman is also offensive simultaneously. And that's what separates him apart from other fighters. Therefore, I don't see Khamzat's fighting style and aggression a serious concern for Usman. But, Khamzat surely brings attention and fame to the UFC fights. Thus, it would be proper to give him the opportunity to fight Colby or Usman.
@@mmaminds9771 who got beat by who bro? are u serious bro!! ur one of those fans who doesnt accept proffesional referees decision or what? khamzat won the fight against burns and he gonna beat ur usman too, just remember to reply me after the fight is over..
@@mmaminds9771 u think he lost just because he got rocked once and he recovered so fast and got a takedown out of it? did u saw burns face on the 3d round ? lol u must be delusional bro u must be mcgregor fan too i guess..
Put some respect on his name after a win like that for sure. The champs journey is just getting started. His composure and patience is truly that of a true champion.
Gilbert fought him well. But you could see the power difference every time Usman landed a jab. Kham also knocked burns around with a jab. Usman vs Kham would be a legendary fight.
0:19 Burns comes out like a rocket! 0:26 Burns early counters the left jab with the overhand right 2:20 GOOD CORNER!🤜 Burns’ overhand right is countering a lot slower so time to utilize the jab again! 2:41 The jab goes to work 2:47 Usman’s like, “Yeah, I got a nasty right overhand too.” Those right overhands are revenge for rd 1🤣 3:53 First left, now right handed. His jab has reached its final form😨 What a decisive comeback! Amazing fight, amazing adjustments…Usman utilizes everything by the time he’s won. Just all around one of my favorite UFC fights ever. Even losing in the later rounds Burns had me thinking it was over for Usman more than a handful of times early in the fight. He’s got some POWER but Usman weathered the storm and broke him.
