Tommy literally sounds better on this live show than he does in the studio version. What a melodic tone! He must practice a lot. Could listen to this all day.
@@DoppeD everyone uses them live, especially considering at what high speeds he is blasting that double bass 😄 it wouldn't cut through the mix as much and as well as it does. The dude is an animal.
@@iamaduckquack A sensor on the drum detects a hit and then triggers a sample to play. It means that the sound of the drum will be consistent every time even if the player is not hitting it with the same force each time. It's a common technique used in live drums these days, but it is controversial because you're technically not hearing the musician hit the drum, but a recorded sample each time they hit (and some less talented drummers use it as a crutch). But it does mean that performances are very consistent and sound great each night, which is good too, because people wait for years and pay a lot of money to see a good show, and musicians are human and aren't always at their best every night.
i find it kind of funny but mostly just cool that kamelot always get badass ladies to do the growling in their music. it's a nice subversion of what you'd usually expect to see.
How is it possible that this guy sounds better on stage than in a studio?! I just listened to this song on Spotify and it doesn't even compare to what I'm hearing right now.
i love the fact that people in kamelot music video’s comments don’t argue over which of their vocalists is the best, unlike in many other symphonic metal bands.
To be fair, before they released the Sacrimony video, there were lots of comments comparing Tommy to Roy (I absolutely loved both of them then and I do now). It's always unfair to compare Tommy's phone clip videos to Roy's live DVD prior to this. I'm happy that Tommy is getting more love now since he has a DVD now
@@filbert351 yes comparisons did exist a few years ago, but I have noticed that they're gradually stopping. which is only fair because Tommy is incredible, and getting up to Roy's level is not easy at all yet all his performances have been perfect
Love how Lauren Hart switches her voice from enchanting to full on growling all in one, what an amazing singer and Tommy Karevik is just kicking ass as always on the vocals.
Only in the empire of Kamelot you can't tell the difference between studio recording and live version. Both perfectly clean and clear, their musical craftsmanship is divine.
It is with great pride that I'm here, in tears, thanking God, the universe and all forces what contributed for me to be there, in that exact front row, 6 years ago. It was the best day of my life, and the fact that I represented Brazil there, flag and all, makes me even more emotional. Love you guys, miss you so much 🖤
They have Lauren,Alissa and Elize as "back up" vocalists that is impressive little list.Poor Karevik has to do duets with all three of them some people really have it hard..
@@MiguelSolans I think he means with clean vocals. I'm no expert on Once Human so i'm not totally sure that she never sings clean with them or not... but that's my guess. She's got a great voice, clean or growl, regardless. Very impressed by this video and hope they put this out as a digital purchase as well.
whoever says they are not bewitched by Tommy's imposing force and command, they simply haven't seen them live yet! The entire Kamelot energy can never be fairly presented via screen
Not sure I'd agree, was at the live show and the people around us stood still for most the show, didn't even sing along :(. Couldn't move further to the front because I already couldn't see anything from where I stood, Dutch people are so tall 😅
Was at a really small club before the album came out, recognized the growl before she even walked on stage, yelled out and she came over and fist bumped me for knowing who she was

This is an outstanding performance in every sense and Sascha Paeth just continues to do incredible stuff with their sound. Hats off!!!
Love the direction they have been taken since they included female harsh vocals into their songs. May I suggest Melissa Bonny or Adrienne Cowan for future collaborations?
Melissa would be great ... or just use all of them: Alissa, Lauren, Melissa, Angela - maybe Tatiana (in no particular order)... ... ... ah well - maybe you should first bring out this marvellous live-album and than start doing some kind of (don't know what to call it) 3-hour Metal-Musical ... ... I may would kill for being there ;)
Saw them in NYC last fall after seeing them last back in 2005 I think, and it was a dream. The quality, the energy, the chemistry with the crowd, unmatched ❤️ I can't wait till live concerts are back man
Holy cow - Alissa in Liar Liar was incredible - and now ... Lauren Hart! I couldn't stand her in Once Human cause there she is simply to "screamish" - but - to be honest - her vocals here are marvellous (including her screams) - not to mention the rest of the band. A very very great job ...
