This made me realize how scary Freeman is, just imagined being Overwatch monitoring those CPs (Civil Protection) and see static cover their headcams one by one until Freeman just disappears in the next minute.
Nah, i dont think the Combine really does anything more than the bare minimum in terms of deceptive propaganda, simply because they don't need to. They've already established total control over the entire planet, and they did so in 7 hours. No need to even bother pretending to be the "good guys" when you've got that much power.
Imagine the terror Dr. Breen felt as he watched one of his top preforming scientists from black Mesa single-handedly wipe out almost the entirety of city-17's overwatch all without saying a single word. Amazing.
Gordon was not "one of his top-performing". He was a low-class Sector C intern with less than a few months of experience. Breen mentions in his Nova Prospekt speech how Freeman barely got out of MIT.
imagine just being on duty as a civil protection officer, and then out of nowhere some crowbar-wielding maniac wearing a suit of armor comes from around the corner hits you over the head 20 times all while staying silent
you're assigned to take down this guy, and all of a sudden, he rounds the corner, shotgun in hand, pointed straight at your face you look at his face, and its just stuck on this completely neutral, lifeless look, but inside, you know his face is of bloodlust, as he pulls the trigger to fire the real and the imaginary barrel on his SPAS-12
And Breen said this in Nova Prospekt: "How could one man Sliped to your forces Fingers??" and "This is not some Highly Trained Assasin we are Discussing, Dr.Gordon Freeman is a PHD At the Time on Black Mesa Incident." Bro forgot this man Wiped 1/4 US Army and Kill a Alien Leader and his Goons at entirely different World.
This is amazing and makes Gordon a really scary dude. He runs up to the combine and you see the crowbar beating, then next combine, dead, next, dead, fighting for their lives before dying to a relentless action hero scientist.
Imagine how much harder it would've gone if the Metrocops acted like they did in Alyx and panicked when their bullets just bounced off your charged armor
Loved this but I feel it would be better if you added the in-game pain grunts, even better if you add them before the distortion so they come out distorted as well.
I think the scariest part about this is that the Civil Protection at this point have been acting with absolute impunity, especially city units like this with the suppression field running for some time. Just the fact that a citizen doesn't go down in a single shot would be horrifying for them.
Bruh if I’m one of the Civil Protection guys and fired a few shots at Gordon and he just looked at me as my bullets bounced off…I would be shitting bricks as well

The lore behind civil protection is quite sad if you look into it. If they fail the combine, their families suffer retribution, that is besides them also getting punished.

Glad to see the combine still use .avi video format. With every race the combine conquerors, they take pieces of their culture and technology, and I'm glad to see that .avi format of all things is what was taken from us.
Interesting to note although silent freeman looks genuinely angry in the first scene. He has just witnessed an act of sheer brutality and seems furious.
honestly this would make a great horror game, ur just a side character / enemy whos just ment to survive or record the events of the main character as he wipes an entire army of enemies

And he just runs closer and closer, look at his face They even animated his expression to match the realism, Gordon is a good man. He saved so many of his people in Black Mesa and to see these two innocent citizens being beaten makes him so mad. He's furious, and the Metropolice is just helpless as the bullets don't even stagger this person. He runs up with this angry face, and a crowbar, and realistically you would not want to be on the other end of a crowbar. Those things weigh like twenty five pounds of steel and metal, and Gordon is strong in the suit. Strong enough to swing it faster than you or I could with ONE FUCKING HAND He beat that policeman down and then probably kept bringing it over his head. Again and again till in real life he would have busted that cop's head open. Splitting his mask and spilling their brains Brutal, realistic, so cool.
My man shot the guy who killed a god, survived the black Mesa incident, killed the mother of all headcrabs, survived a massive ambush of some of the most experienced soldiers. And he shot him with a weak pistol.
Everything about this is…. Wow When you really think about it, Gordon is scary. A figure, speechless, ignoring your bullets and simply bludgeoning his enemies to death. I’d love to see how this would play out with a citadel one
The fact freeman doesn’t even react to the hits makes this a little eerie to me. He doesn’t even flinch he looks you dead in the eyes and beats you with a crowbar
This reminded me of the first mision of bf1 i think in wich every time you get killed you just start playing as another soldier. A mod playing with this concept would be very cool imo
For some reason I keep imagining this as some viral marketing campaign for the game if it came out in the era of social media. I can't name any off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure I remember some games having marketing campaigns revolving around fake found footage style clips, and this could work really well too I think.
More HL2, and maybe try it in a slightly more realistic approach as in: Freeman being unseen or at least not standing out in the open eating bullets or something like that.
Imagine watching your fellow civil protection officers be hunted down and slaughtered by a formal black mesa scientist who doesnt make a single sound the whole time.
assuming you can do this (and did do this) through gmod, using realistic gunshot sound mods like dynamic reverb or something similar and then distorting them like you did the normal game audio would make this actually terrifying, especially with the larger fights in the canals involving a lot of officers
The combine perspective is actually terrifying. Imagine dumping bullet after bullet into the guy that’s killed hundreds of your comrades and he doesn’t even flinch.
i thought this video would be like some horror thing where the city 17 citizen were trying to evacuate through the canals and were killed by some unknown force. but no, it's just gordon on his usual killing spree against the people who try to kill him.
I've always had a similar idea of a horror game where you play as a vort or something in Black Mesa being hunted by Gordon. I'm glad someone actually implemented that concept lol
Gordon Freeman isn't just a vessel, he's also just invincible in most cases. Even whole squads can't kill him. Even helicopters and gunships can't kill him. Coincidence.. He's unstoppable.
The Stiff animation is what makes it, he literally looks like some psychopath on a killing spree. Kind of like he enjoyed toying with his victims or found some weird fascination with it.
