Today, we will be demonstrating the Kanchanjunga Express accident using 3D animation. This video is for learning purposes, so keep watching and learn from it.
On the morning of June 16, 2024, the Kanchanjunga Express, train no. 15658, was traveling from Agartala to Sealdah. After departing from Agartala at 8:15 am, it journeyed 978 kilometers and reached New Jalpaiguri the next morning at approximately 7:20 am. Near Rangapani station, the train's speed had been reduced as a safety measure. However, a WAG-9 locomotive with wagons, traveling at a higher speed, overshot a signal and collided with the Sealdah-bound Kanchanjunga Express.
This video aims to provide a visual understanding of the events leading to the accident and highlight the importance of railway safety.

@@Benzene42 Mr aromatic hexagon passenger train got tail lamp of red light which is blinking visible upto 1km indicates danger, and the Goods train has an airbrake system and the loco was wag 9hc fit for 110 kmph for sectional speed near the signal and station it may reduced air brakes should apply 15-20 seconds if loco pilot apply the brakes it will Stop 100mts away for emergency brake application...LP and ALP aware of that station master said that he never given the clearance for goods and LP crossed Red signal... totally bumchick story..the fact is SM Given clearance and LP ,ALP gone through finally LP. applied emergency then accident take minor impact instead of major impact...LP rest in peace brave, SM just lied that he not given clearance.....

There is a bright red light behind the last bogie of every train . Being daytime , the goods train locopilot ought to have slowed down his train to 10kmh which he did not , causing their mishap. There is also the role of the Asst locopilot who perhaps was also ignoring the usual drill of speed limits in the event of signal failure.

@@rakeshaitha574 first train can go upto maximum speed 25kmph. Preceding train can go with normal speed as per railway rules. Station master didn't confirmed line clear for goods train.

@@Lifemarathon Uss area the signal failure tha morning se hin. Dono train paper pe run kar raha tha. TA 912 pe. Iske according signal red bhi ho to train run karegi. To galti station master ka ho sakta hai ki Passenger train ka next station se signal clearance bina liye hue cargo train ko pass kaise kiya.

Yes correct agartala is the capital of Tripura and the mainland of Tripura/Tripuri, Riang, Jamatia, Noatia, Uchai, Chakma, Mog, Lushai, Kuki, Halam, Munda, Kaur, Orang, Santal, Bhil, Bhutia, Chaimal, Garo, Khasia, and Lepcha.

Firstly you gather the 100% correct information about the incident then only post any such tragedic incident don't just blame anyone. the goods train has received the authority T/A912 as there are signal failure between two station so goods train loco pilot has maitain the speed .. Let’s agree that it was signal failure but how come goods train driver hit the train from behind? I think it was daylight and if the goods train driver is awake then he could have seen train ahead of him atleast at one kilometre distance and he could have brake goods train. I think he was sleeping.

Corrections: 1. 15658 was the old number for this train when it used to run between Sealdah and Guwahati. At present there are two Kanchanjungha Express Trains. 13173-13174 : Kanchanjungha Express that runs between Sealdah in West Bengal and Sabroom in Tripura. The train has been extended from Agartala to Sabroom from 16.06.2024. 13175-13176 : Kanchanjungha Express that runs between Sealdah and Silchar. 2. Agartala is not in Assam, it is the state capital of Tripura.

Yup automatic signal route...there are several signals between stations...more than one train can be sent into section...unfortunately made a mistake....you can pass automatic signal in danger after sometime but with speed restriction and look for any dange...may be he is carrying little too much speed..

Because at that time the kanchenjunga express was at very close distance and speed of good train is far more than express train that's why this collision took place🥲... Unfortunately it was impossible for any loco pilot to slow down suddenly the train with more than 120+ km/hr....😢

It is assured by our Railway Authority of India that every train has a Kavach system that will automatically stop the train if any big obstacle is there in front of it and if the driver unable to stop it that can cause big accident so it's a big question arises that why did the Kavach system didn't worked here and why such carelessness took place that killed many people

the Station Master of the Rangapani railway station issued Travel Authority (TA-912) authorising the locopilot of the goods to cross all signals in red. The authority number 4918 clearly stated that “Automatic signaling has failed and you are, hereby, authorised to pass all automatic signals between RNI (Rangapani) station and CAT (Chattar Hat) station. the locopilot would stop for two minutes and then proceed at 15 kmph where the visibility was good and 10 kmph in case the visibility was poor. But as per speedometer analysis approximate speed is around 45KMPH..

Goods train was given written authority to pass signals at danger as all Automatic Signals were down due to rain and its the clear fault of Controller has given authority via station master to the goods train to pass malfunctioning signals. The only fault of Goods train locopilot was non observation of speed as he was passing malfunctioning auto signals and poor visibility due to rain made this accident more happening than stopping it.

The goods train didn't overshot the signal but he had written permission to ignore the automatic signals in the zone as it had some fault. Same instructions were given to the express train and now it is official.

Automatic Speed control KAVACH will reduce speed automatically based on many safety parameter . There should be 100% POKA YOKE system should be put in place where human error possibility should be nullified .. This is possible with the high tech systems

Every one thinking Loco pilot job is very very easy and lasy. You think if you have a responsible for thousand of lives, you take lasy. There are many types of recoding system available to watch Loco pilot working. Always Loco pilot ready to sacrifice his live for thousand of passanges , so impact of accident is reduced in all incident. Culprit are try to hide actuall cause. Red salute to my dear loco pilots by saving thousand of lives by sacrificing your live. Without proper rest at fourth night duty also you vigilance and ready to sacrifice your life for others, one again red salute my dear Loco pilot
