Kangaroo Security System Unboxing! (Starter Kit) 

From watching interviews with thieves they say the signs (and window stickers) are a deterrent. It’s often not worth the risk of is the alarm armed and being monitored. With that being said. One thief said he would still look into the windows to see if he could see the key pad. And if he could see the alarm wasn’t on, he’s break in anyway. But if he could see the key pad was armed he’d stay away. And he would also stay away if he could not see the key pad. So if you have it near the window make sure the buttons are not visible.

5:30, I would avoid using their sign, but I would use a sign from a different company. ADT signs are plentiful on eBay. Signs and decals are helpful in preventing burglaries, but it's best not to display that you have a DIY system like this. These kinds of systems are relatively simple to get around, it's even easier when it's easy to find out exactly which system it is.

Can’t wait to get mine! I also ordered the doorbell and chime which is a pre order. They separated the shipping so i could at least install this kit first.

Did your yearly subscription come in the kit or was it activated once you set your stuff up? I didn’t see a code but i also haven’t set it up yet. Thanks!

I thought about purchasing this but here's my problem. the doors in my home have a door frame that will not allow the sensors to align/connect. I would not know how else to place them in order to make them line up correctly.

I don’t think you are supposed to pull out the tabs until you are instructed to during the set up process. I might be wrong but better to follow the instructions

Hi!!! I live in Argentina, and I am interested in installing an alarm system that notifies me of my cell phone if the sensors and the state in general are activated. Does the Kangaroo system work without hiring the monitoring service? Would I receive notifications in case the alarm is activated?

I just ordered a kit from them, key pad siren, 4 roo tags, doorbell camera, 6 window/door/ motion detectors, and 4 free regular motion detectors, plus a free year of their monitoring service all for $79.

I'm always excited to see new upstart companies that seem to be doing things the right way. I went to the kangaroo site and put 1 siren / keypad, 2 cameras (bundled with a year of monitoring), four roo tags, 2 door / window sensors and 6 motion sensors in the cart. The total coast was only 477 bucks (free shipping). Kangaroo offered 10% off that. Their top tier plan is 10 bucks a month. I feel kangaroo is onto something great. The only big negative to me is the lack of backup cellular in the keypad. My internet can be unstable occasionally.
