I am from General Caste and I don't have any problem in reservation to SC/ST/OBC or to Anyone who deserve because they fight from the whole society to get a breath even.
I am brahmin and proud of that. But i respect all my dalit brothers and sisters. The main problem is that dalits didn't get education during those days. Education only can change everything.

Indian govt. Provides reservations for IIM, IIT, AIIMS etc. Like Higher education. But didn't provide Primary health and education, so lower castes can't go to DPS or any other International schools, so their basics are poor even if they get into higher institutions they are dropping out

There are only 2% government jobs but almost all good professional courses' seats are covered by reservation. So by virtue of the college tag a person with lesser marks/aptitude will still land up in a better job.

I want to abolish reservation. If the living conditions of dalit is bad, it show how much ineffective reservation is after this much year . if discrimination is done against Dalits, is not solved by reservation, but by putting laws against such people who discrimination . Weather such laws exist ,or is it strong? After civil rights movement progress amoung black is not solve by reservation, but through laws which take strong action against people who discrimate.

Reservation is given to uplift ppl of socially backward castes. Even if the upper caste ppl are in less number compared to the lower caste ppl in over all population .. look at the world around u . In every high positions of the society there u can find only a few lower caste ppl, majority are upperclass ppl. Y so?? Inorder to bring lower class ppl to stand with the upperclass ppl in all aspects reservation is given. And it is necessary to achieve equality. General wale ka fategi kisi aur ka nahin ! 40000, 20000, 10000 us 1 lakh mein bhi hoga dekh lena!
Only 3.5 % market job is reserved for all people including unreserved. Rest 96.5 % job is open to all people. So , keep that reservation for benefits of enjoying various people work together at least in government jobs. Other than govt ,remaining 96.5 % open to all. Even if education and nutrition made available equally to every child, let’s support reservation for various culture people work together. u pls propose for reservation in central govt jobs based on languages. Then , u may see real pluralism of India.

Wah kya baat hain. 2 percent hain kyunki 90% jobs agriculture, labourers aur service industry (waiters etc) ye log kar rahe hain. Ab kya kheti mein bhi reservation chahiye? Dhang ki jobs India mein 5% hi hain. Usme se 2% mein reservation aur baaki mein ghusne ke liye IIT ya IIM jaha alag reservation laga hua hain. Sale kuch bacha hain jaha reservation nahi hain? Root cause is casteism. "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction". Once there was a time when there were no access of education,clean water, higher job to such people. There were practice of untouchability and discrimination on the basis of caste etc. Now also in many region, it is practiced. I myself can see this in my society. In rural areas it happens at extream level. B. R Ambedakar had reached higher position on his own while going through inequality and exploitation. He had a very tough time to even access the education and then he used such power to bring revolution against inequality on the basis of caste. Demolish inequality on the basis of caste, then demolish reservation. It is illogical to discriminate on the basis of caste. Why certain group of people is called "lower caste" or "upper caste" just because their ancestors were engaged in certain job.

If reservation is due to casteism then, casteism is variable throughout the nation then why not reservation. If a SC student from a village where casteism exists gets a job though reservation it would be correct but if a sc student living in an urban city where casteism has no place why he should have that privilage that should only be given to village one and why in equal quantity
Then people should create another solution . Instead of pointing out reservation, find another solution to caste discrimination. Reservation was made because of it. People only think about outputs with no outcomes. Reservation should be removed ,but first do we have any other solution to remove casteism.

Before discussion on Reservation every Indian should know the facts about Reservation that RESERVATION IS ACTUALLY substitute & REPLACEMENT of INDIAN CONSTITUTION. Why need to know this ? Because when Indian constitution not implemented & we are not having rights according to Indian Constitution since 1950 so Court has no right to punish anybody. Instead of Indian constitution our country is run by Hindu Legislation/Laws of Castism. So How can Court of India give justice according to Indian constitution ?

Nobody cares about general category. Just answer one question, who in this world would let go the benefits even if they are rich. Only reservation for poor SC/ST students should be there.
Why can't the government remove reservation to those who, though are from backward castes, belong to a well to do family ??? It's easy to find out using their tax returns and it is well to do because the father has already availed the benefit of reservation. If a person whose father is a having a plum job that earns him more than 20 lakhs per annum, then does this person still need reservation ??? So simple solution for the benefit of the really poor people who are from backward castes, the reservation must not be applicable for anyone whose father has already availed the benefit of reservation and can now support his son. This way, the marginalized person can really benefit. Reservation can be there but to only those that really need it.
Only 3.5 % market job is reserved for all people including unreserved. Rest 96.5 % job is open to all people. So , keep that reservation for benefits of enjoying various people work together at least in government jobs. Other than govt ,remaining 96.5 % open to all. Even if education and nutrition made available equally to every child, let’s support reservation for various culture people work together. u pls propose for reservation in central govt jobs based on languages. Then , u may see real pluralism of India.

Why do everybody take this 2% govt job to justify the caste base reservation.. But why don't they take in count the reservation in Education sector(like IIT, NIT AIIMs etc). A candidate getting admission in these institutes on Caste bases and geeting private jobs on that basis should also be added to those 2% jobs on reservation.

I'm SC I got 91.5% for tenth 88 for twelwth, 92.5% for degree( college first rank) 88.5% for MSc ( college second rank) got admission for PhD with JRF. But for all these admissions I got seat under SC reservation. And the other one who got the other seat out of the two seats for SC ( he was topper in his college). So I don't know how reservation is unfair? Actually this society is unfair, because you so called general categories have this thought that people who get researved seats are unworthy, dumb and stupid. Do first change your attitude then we will discuss about other things!!!!!!!

i agree with you .. engineering and b schools /professional schools should never have reservations .. its just stupid .. fees should be waived off only for the poor . i scored 90 percentile in CAT and I''ll be trying again next year .. CAT ,JEE cutoff is ridiculous for SC/ST/OBC .
Most of the reserved students end up dropping out becoz of the difficulty in coping with better students in prestigious universities. So the result is that we have more dalit drop outs. Reservation is actually anti dalit. Same Dalits would have gotten degrees in less prestigious colleges
Bro...the main reason behind the college dropouts of backward caste is that 85% of them belong to rural hindi medium backward govt schools.....If they are given proper guidance and counselling in the prestigious colleges ,they would perform much better than GC students

Care to explain me why?? In us state California, removed reservation (affirmative action) and results were that the oppressed groups had 55% increase in graduation. Turns out more people of oppressed groups were graduating without reservation.

And it was continued for vote bank politics. It's been 70years since independence. Yet caste continues, so it's clear that reservation on caste can't eliminate caste. Why support a failed system which is exploited by politicians for vote banks??? There's no need for economic reservation. Becoz brilliant people from poor background don't need reservation, they need financial support.

MBBS seats are increasing day by day for reservation now it has reached almost 70%....seats for UR category is decreasing with a galloping speed..if this continues the day is not far when we will see that MBBS seats are 100% reserved 😭...

Why Indians need Reservation for being leaders or need Reservation in Job ? Because they want to Representate their caste only. So whatever antisocial, illegal, inhuman Karma their caste people have been done the leaders just give them support for such karma. Reservation will create more caste disparity .Just look the statistics of top colleges iit,iim,du etc where sucide,mental harassment,college dropout are most observe in reserved caste people. you general category represent about 23% of indian population and rest of the 55% of seats are reserved for general category that is you enjoy more than 2x times your population percentage. When about 16.6% is SC and only get 15% reserved seats and 8.5% of ST population get only 7.5%reservation then rest 43% OBC gets only about 22% reservation seats. Actually you are sitting on the 55% seats for only 23% of you guys. Tell me what are you bickering about. And since your reservation percentage double your population represent you won't get higher cutt off.
So reservation system is based on population ratio. And if you are educated and wise and rational and know some biostatistics, this is a fair and square system except you guys get more that is double your population size ( 23% population) that is 55% of the seats. So you guys are at advantage. I don't know why you are bickering about. If Govt jobs and education opportunities are not reserved according to the demography and different castes and races are not included then that is the hinderance of equality.
And about backwardness, I see why you didn't get admitted for any job or courses. Please study about other developed nations like japan, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Netherlands, Ireland......In all these countries there are reservation system for people based on race and ethinicity. @Crimson Sash I have had no privileges , infact my caste (general) suffered at the hands of brahmins ,but still we believed in hardwork to become Diwans, PM of Cochin etc. I studied in govt school and my father started as a clerk in govt (cracked the exam through hardwork) with a house full of sisters, brothers who couldn't be employed (reservation) , errands in his house made him indebted and it led to full of financial problems myriad!!
