Royals are 6-4 to start the 2024 season. Watching these postseason highlights again brings back so many good memories. Here’s to hoping this new young group of talent can develop and bring more October baseball to the city.
The defense of the Royals really put them over the edge in this World Series. Strong pitching and fielding saved multiple runs in big moments throughout the series.
I’m happy the 2015 Royals won it all but I still liked the 2014 Royals the most. That team went from Nowhere to Somewhere. Back to Back Pennants is still a great achievement!
Watching highlights of all the last 10 or so world series online, even though this one only went 5 games, I feel like this one was particularly energetic and electric. Very loud crowds
I'm a Mets fan and have suffered a long time of losing and choking. This season finally gave me hope and memory I'll remember forever. It's unfortunate that the Amazing Mets ran into a Power Ful Royals team that year. What I saw was I thought the Mets had the edge on Pitching, but the Royals Hitters were hard to strike out. They fought to the end. I cried myself after the last out. But when the Mets decided to come back out on the field after they lost, that cheered me up to give hope for the future! Months later I wore my Mets hat to a Charlotte Hornets Game and a random fan said sorry, my Royals beat you in the World Series. I juat handed it to the Royals they were a tough team to beat. The 2015 Mets made me proud to be a fan of this team and still am today!
I grew up both a Reds and a Braves fan (still a huge fan of both teams to this day) but I LOVE an underdog story and the Royals were so much fun to watch during the 2014 and 2015 seasons. I was SO happy for them to come back and win it all in 2015 although I was admittedly heartbroken when they came SO close in 2014 (that rascal Bumgarner single-handedly won that series for the Giants...never seen anything like it).
Royals were awesome, but it really feels like the Mets beat themselves in this series. Blew 9th inning leads in Games 1 and 5, blew an 8th inning lead in Game 4, and made several fielding and base running errors.
Great video quality. The big difference in this series was the Royals defense vs Mets defense, the Mets defense failed them terribly,Royals played excellent defense in this series
Yeah I'm a Met Fan. This series hurt. However the Royals were the better team. They played almost flawless defense. They got more clutch hits. They deserved to win this series. I'm still sad even typing this because it hurt so much to lose this series as a Met Fan
@@ericfigueroa2325 no the Royals were loaded with Hitters who didn't strike out very much. They were hard to strike out and they swung at a lot of pitches working the pitch count up on the Mets
I remember Frank Thomas after game 5. “ the Mets have nothing to feel sorry about, except blowing 3 games in the series” . Lol he wasn’t even trolling. Dead serious
The Mets' fatal flaw was living and dying on the long ball. And Degrom/Syndergaard were probably a year or two too inexperienced. AND Familia imploded out of absolutely nowhere.
Noah had a good start tho. DeGrom was good that year just had a bad night. Defense and Familia really screwed NY. Crazy to think Familia is still in NY right now
Familia didn’t implode. His defense let him down. The only save he really blew was the homer to Gordon. Let’s not forget Murthy’s error and definitely Duda’s throw to home.
I watch this almost every year. It makes me so emotional still I have so much emotion tied in Royals baseball. So this world series was so special for me.
0:08 this is why players always need to run as fast as they can on these plays. Most players would think this is a no doubter or fly out and start jogging, barely making it to 2nd
what a crazy thing . I was in t ball and my team was the Mets and my friends team Hunter was on the royals. This was hilarious because I am a huge royals fan and he was a Mets fan. So I was laughing a lot noticing that they both made it to the 2015 world series 😂😂😂.
so happy for another fellow AL Central team to win it all! i wish m my tigers could have closed it out but at least we had rings prior. tout this year forever Royals fans
My first favorite team: Royals. My second favorite team: Mets. I got a lot of shit from my friends here in KC when this WS went down. Hope the Mets can make it back in 2022. Might have a Subway Series rematch.
I love your vids and I miss the Mets being good! Also are you going to make 2016, 2017, etc? Your vids have the highest sound quality and I wish there were series highlights for Astros Dodgers, Dodgers Brewers, Cubs Indians, and stuff like that.
Thanks you! I appreciate the support! Unfortunately, other RU-vidrs (Exe-Edits) have already done series highlights for 2016, 2017, etc. I would rather not compete with them, if that makes sense, and I'd like to go back in time after I finish my 2017 game highlights.
Mets had this series. That blown Game 1 as well as errors in the final 2 games gave it to the Royals. Mainly Game 1 and Game 5 Mets really blew games they had in the bag
"They totally had this series... Except the parts that they didn't because they lost 2 games early because the Royals were the better team. But they totally would have won, trust me bro."
@@MP-yc2ou No, because the game isn't even until the last pitch is thrown. Moreover, both games (which they lost) in question the Mets had a very slight lead and then the Royals turned the tables on them. Saying they "blew it" is completely undermining the efforts and and talent that the royals brought to the table. One time "might" be a fluke, but twice? Especially considering how handily the Royals were able to win the last game by. You can try and dance around the subject all you want, but the fact of the matter is that the Royals were the better team out there. And it showed, because they're the ones the trophy, and I'm the one with 2015 world series champions t-shirt. Not you. Please, cry about it more.
@@MP-yc2ou Totally can, totally will. Especially considering how much they absolutely blew that last game open by. Harvey Pitched a hell of a game, but he was worn out by the end, and the Royals punished him for it. And once they got hot in the last inning it was already over. You can "blow" a few bad plays here and there, but there are far too many deciding factors in a game that takes as long to play as baseball to boil down their losing a 4-1 in the world series as "blowing it". By your logic, the Royals "blew" game 3 by letting the other team score more points then they did.
That team reminded me of a The Far Side cartoon where a school of piranha are swimming along side a couple of explorers walking across a river. The lead piranha says "ok we'll start nibbling. Don't do anything until they scream PIRANAH. Then everybody jump in." They just waited for a high stress situation and when the other team panicked, chomp chomp.
I'll never forget how cocky Matt Harvey was while pitching the 8th and 9th inning of that final game. Got selfish and ended up possibly being the reason they lost that game. Got the Royals the championship.
No way, Matt Harvey was the reason they were even in a position to win. Especially after game one I’m gonna put my money on Harvey finishing the job rather than Familia
Harvey also threw a first pitch fastball basically down the middle when he should have known that Escobar the entire postseason was swinging at first pitches. I mean that ball should have been caught but why give Escobar a chance to do damage on the first pitch when you know he is swinging? Even the commentators knew he was swinging.
Can you imagine if the first basement made a good throw, who knows how the rest woulda went if hosmer was out like he shouldve been. But thats baseball
I will still never understand how Matt Harvey thought it was a good idea to throw a pitch right down the middle for the first pitch to ALCIDES ESCOBAR. Y’know? The guy who was WELL KNOWN FOR SWINGING AT THE FIRST PITCH?
I still can't believe how poorly the Mets fielded their positions. I don't think I can ever remember a franchise playing that poorly defensively over the course of a multiple game series. I was pulling for KC but I do think the Mets beat themselves in this series.
It’s insane the overall bad defense from both defense. How either were at this point is incredible. Nothing about this series will be included in the instructional video for the fundamentals
