Here's the problem. According to the LOTG, when a player is holding a ball in the corner, charging into their back is allowed. When a player instigates this contact with this tactic, most referees have little sympathy for the perpetrator getting a little roughed up. It's FIFA who must fix this by making this stalling tactic that instigates aggressive challenges illegal. Edmonds overreacted. She's lucky to only get a 2-game suspension for making deliberate contact with an opponent above the shoulders.
