It is only when it ends do we realize every moment is precious. The best advice I ever received, was to regularly to just take a quick moment and look at your loved ones to solidify the moment in your mind. The next moment is never guaranteed.

I know its a sad song, and it's pretty clear this is a bittersweet memory for you - but this made me happy, both the song and the video. It feels like I spend almost every summer night through the 80s listening to my dad sing this song around a campfire, and the old movie clips just reinforced that sense of memory. My dad's still with us, but now that he's in his 70s he doesn't play for fun as much any more. (He finally hit the point where he can play for money.) So this has brought back some lovely, and all-to-often absent, feelings.

The lows and vibrato in this gave me goosebumps!

I simply love your covers. I understand, that the music you want towrite is a different kind, but these folk, folk-rock and ballad-style songs work wonderfully with your voice, especially in the lower range. The curse of having such a great voice is, that you only need simple arrangments ;)

This is such a beautiful cover. I expected it to sound amazing because you have such a gorgeous voice and incredible talent. I didn't expect that halfway through, I was going to start sobbing thinking about how much I miss my Dad. He passed away just over two years ago; he was a music teacher and over 40 years of teaching, he enriched and improved the lives of thousands of students by sharing his love of music. At least 20 of his best students have gone on to become music teachers themselves, with many more still continuing to play music to this day. I am so proud of and the positive change he made in so many lives.

The first time I heard this song many years ago in a television series "The Highlander" I have the version of that series and today I can say that you have moved me with your version. I still have my parents but I am losing my mother little by little with Alzheimer's disease. thanks from Spain..

Lost my mom right before covid on August 19 2018. Her birthday is this Sunday and the pain doesn't go away just hurts little less. This is a song we use to listen to when I was growing up watching the storms come in over the mountains. She would wake me up at 2 am and we would sit on the porch with the radio on watching the lighting from said storms. One of my favorite memory's of us together.

Such a beautiful cover, Violet! Back in 2019 when I was 24, my mother was diagnosed with leukemia, and I thought I was going to lose her. Thankfully she's still with us today, but it can definitely be rough seeing a loved one go through a lot!

Little of a fun story here. I absolutely love the sound of a minor and it's variations such as a add nine. And I as a early guitarist was trying to come up with my own songs. Played with this variation and I was like what goes well with that and I added c and it's variations with hammer-ons and pull offs. All excited. I run to my dad and I show him what I'm working on. And he goes Oh that's dust in the wind. And I asked him what is that. He pulls up RU-vid and my dreams of an original song or dashed XD. Fantastic cover! Absolutely love it!

As vezes eu fico me pegando com isso. Eu nunca perdi alguém extremamente próximo - meus avós morreram antes de eu nascer, meus tios que já partiram se isolaram antes do fim trágico, meus amigos seguem vivos. É bom, é ótimo. Mas, provavelmente, quando rolar, vai ser tudo de uma vez. Que eu esteja preparado. Eu penso nisso o tempo todo, tanto na partida dos outros, quanto na minha. E, se eu tivesse a capacidade de produzir música, com certeza tiraria uma parte dessa capacidade pra construir músicas de conforto pra esses momentos, porque música conforta. Quando for a vez dos meus pais, eu vou voltar aqui. Kansas e especificamente essa música, são não só uma das portas de entrada pra rock que eu tive, como uma das bandas preferidas dos meus pais (junto com Legião Urbana e Queen, a tríade que carregou o casamento até a separação). Acho que a significação de algumas obras toma uma dimensão totalmente diferente quando se passa por experiências tão traumáticas como a perda de um ente querido. I Lost my Mom on Mothers Day before my eyes of me it started then she died at the Hospital. In the year 2010 it was 14 years now. Your video made me cry. Seeing your family made me cry. They all had beautiful Moments to share. The one girl reminded me of my mother as she was short like you and the depth and feel you brought out Vocally is Magical!!! It's I who need to cry today. Why 14 years later?????🥴
