The Kansas Jayhawks top the West Virginia Mountaineers, 55-42, in overtime. Kansas, who starts the 2022 college football season 2-0 for the first time since 2011, were led by QB Jalon Daniels’ 3 TD passes. For WVU, who begin 0-2 for the first time since 1979, had QB JT Daniels throw for 355 YDS, 3 TD & 1 INT.

I'm a Texas tech fan, but I just wanted to say that I don't think there is any team that deserves the success they've been having quite like Kansas. They've scratched and clawed their way into being a respectable football team after being the big 12 doormat for far too long. It makes the conference better.

Tech got a big win today as well. Jayhawks playing Huston next week. It'll be interesting to see how they stack up against Huston. After years of abject failure on the part of Kansas' athletic directors, chancellor's, and coaches, they finally have a coach and staff. This is for all those players over the years that gave their all for a program that certainly didn't give their all for them.

At least with the last touchdown they may have cut it because with 35 seconds left and West Virginia not having timeouts while being down 42-40 the female announcer asked if they were going to go for 2 or not.

I did not expect a win for KU as this was a road game for us. I thought the game could be close considering we were competitive in the final 3 games last season. However we did lose and add lot of players thus I was not sure. KU has 3 starter-calibre RB, and I thought it would be fun to use option rushing attack and KU actually runs it. We have been bad for a long time. Thank God Coach Leipold is the right guy for us. So happy we are competitive again.

I’m a Texas Tech graduate and an even bigger fan and I’m so happy for our success but I’ve wanted to see Kansas return to glory like those 2000s teams. Their head coach came from the D3 level where a lot of kids work their butts off with no recognition; kinda like Kansas for such a long time. Beating a West Virginia Team that went head to head with Pitt who just lost to Tennessee in OT. The Kansas football fans have a lot to get excited about this season and the future to come.

Also? There's 2 Major sports in NCAA. (Fball & Basketball) Kansas is lucky enough to be of the 11-12 schools acroos this country of +350 D1 schools who can say they are a National Powerhouse in one of the two Major Sports. Our 350 schools. KSt/Mizz? Not even local Powerhouses in Fball&Basketball. Anything KU does good in fball? Just an added bonus!

Man I can't believe our defense did so poorly, definitely shouldn't have let them score as much as they did, at home especially, special teams really didn't help out either, surprised we even went in OT tbh, then the fact that we win the coin toss and choose to defend instead of recieve when our defense was practically non existent the whole game is beyond me, all I gotta say is kansas fought harder for this one, good game even if we are 0-2😕

You always pick defense first both teams get the ball no matter what so it’s better to know what your offense needs to do when they get the ball. As a Kansas fan i’ll say your coaches have some suspect play calling but you guys didn’t lose to the Kansas of old Leipold has turned them into a respectable team and the season is still young I’m sure you guys will figure it out…or fire your coach lol.

I watched the Jayhawks 1st game start to finish and qas astonished by how improved they looked. I watched the Mountaineers flop to a loss at Pittsburg and was left feeling both teams had poor cohesion and very leaky defenses. So I naturally thought that the large expected margin over KU for WV was not valid, and that KU would win, even on the road. This is the best team Kansas has had In ages.
