Not sure I can say Riley will be “a whale of an offensive coordinator someday”. He has been a good Oline coach, but not everyone can take that next step. Hope you are right Fitz.

BYU fan who was at the game here. Yes, you had a calamitous seven minutes but the BYU defense held its own in the first half and was lights out in the second half. Every play KSU ran in the first half and most plays run in the second half had to be run on a silent snap count due to the incredible crowd noise. That played a big role in the mistakes KSU made. I hope you win Saturday, I think BYU can give OSU its second loss in a few weeks if you don’t.

Thanks for the diligence here Fitz! This game was so painful to watch. I was embarrassed as a fan. I love my Cats and am also ready to move on. Hope I never see another one like that.

So if I heard the Coach Klieman narrative correctly from the presser, the defense is at fault for not overcoming the offense’s mistakes. The offense is not expected to overcome their own penalties. Those should and do just stop drives.

My opinion, Coach K didn't have his team ready, the noise seemed to bother K-State, so.... The KSU fans need to show up as they did for the Arizona game @ The Bill! KSU fans, show up & "be proud and BE LOAD! 🗣" I know we all feel bad after the BYU game, just remember the team feels twice as bad. KSU fans show this team we have their back, attend the OSU v KSU game and fill The Bill! There are 2 games I'm interested in on BYU remaining schedule, the Holy War and when OSU goes to BYU in Oct.! EMAW

I was in Provo and it literally was a snowball effect. But some casual observations lead me to this, maybe Riley needs to be on the sideline with his O line. Eric Bienemy called great games from the sideline. Then Riley can coach his O line like he is used to and correct some of the drive killing penalties which have been there in other games. Remember not only is Avery a new starter but so is a large part of his line. Let Wells coach Avery from the booth and give Riley a different set of eyes from there while he gets his O line going. The only thing I can say about the defense is need to get better in zone or cover 2 but is really good and getting better. Defense keep it up.

"Tried to see if we could move the ball without throwing it..." There it is. Coaching scared, limiting the offense and not trusting your players to make plays.

You're spot on once again Fitz. We need to be patient as Wildcat fans. Obviously there were many problems in that game. Mainly offense. I agree with you about Dylan Edwards. We need to get him the ball more often. What, a 8 yard average per play?

I think Avery is involved in game planning and has input on play calling, I also think Avery wants to be known as a complete QB not just a running QB and I think we see that manifesting.

Avery has a learning curve also. He will learn on the job. Let's see watch him grow.

Who believes Riley is a better play caller than Matt Wells? But at least we're consistent: the mismanagement of personnel is both on and off the field.

Remember a 9-3 regular season is an improvement. Still hoping for an 11-1 regular season! EMAW!

Is there any other P4 O-Coordinator that also coaches a position group (besides QB)?

So, is the choice… 8-4 with mild Avery or 10-2 with wild Avery ?
