It's more like blessings from deity to be able to create this level of art. He himself admitted in an interview that he was much more aggressive due to the excessive energy during filming that particular scene.

It's not about possession but the influence of the Deity... It cannot be done by a normal midset, it's the Deity's influence that made the actor act like that...

it's about devotion and conditioning. rishabh shetty decided to be very genuine with the whole process like avoiding meat. he was probably in control of his senses for the most part but i think he might have experienced possession at some instants. I've seen people getting possessed by deities growing up and i always remember that their faces didn't look human at all. after possession this people get super tired and sleep for days.

I think the tantra practicionar didn't mean that the actor is really possessed but just what he thinks is his performance is as if god is really taken over him and as if we are watching god in him. That's what i think he mean by what he said.
