The reason it doesn't "feel like Kanye" is because it's super raw and genuine. This is the only Kanye album where he removed the character he usually portrays between himself and the listener. It almost feels like you're literally in the same room with him as he gives you an honest tour of his thoughts and mental health. I fully understand why people don't fuck with it because musically speaking, it's not as grand as his other albums. But for someone who can really relate and actually cares about Ye as a person, this album has done a ton for me this past week.

I liked this album for it’s simplicity and how straightforward it was

Ken took this way too personally. Feefo appreciates the art and will bump it in the whip because the antics don't bother him. Myke pissed it was only 7 songs but ultimately dissapointed. Beezy thought this shit was just plain whack. I watched the live stream and thought it was fire and been playing it ever since/ cant wait for KIDS SEE GHOST tomorrow....

people explained the first track is him talking to himself. he wants to kill that part of him but he loves himself not to..its pretty relatable..if i could kill that side of me that was broken i would..but i would also go down...os its a constant battle. i like that interpretation.

It also seems like they've already made their minds up about Kanye just because of his comments the past few months. Like they aren't judging the album solely for it's content but also for their perception of him, which shouldn't be a factor in the review of the album.

“I thought about killing you” was him talking to himself. The different pitches and vocal inflections show his different “personalities” speaking to his being bipolar. The “you” was himself. It was just him being suicidal on wax. The whole “they’ll say HE died so young” is about kanye, since when is Kim a he? Do y’all even look at the lyrics anymore?

Yeezus and Ye are my two favorite Kanye albums but I love everything he’s done.

The album was great to me real talk

Kanye said that he had a whole other album done before this and then after the TMZ shit he made YE in like 2 weeks. I LOVE Ye. But I also heard the album live during the stream on May 31. And that changed it for me completely. Seeing him and all his friends enjoying the album and then him talking about being happier and off the drugs he was on made me happy. Because I'm a Stan. That's all I have to say. And I appreciated how Ye rapped on the album. He rapped similar to 2010 and 2011. With the rhymes. He rhymed more than one word at a time and he seemed like he crafted his verses with care even if some of the concepts and beats and whatever may seem very one take or less perfected And that's because it was. He wrote it and recorded it fast. The album cover even was taken on his iPhone on that night of May 31. Also, "Ghost Town" was originally supposed to be on Kids See Ghosts, So some of these songs he took his time on. But I'm biased af. Yeezus is my second fave album and next is 808s. Dark Fantasy being #1 so ya'll in the comments probably think I'm crazy. But fuck it,. Kanye Stan. Til I die.

Agree with Fantano. Personally i really enjoyed the album, 8/10.

Kanye being bipolar completely makes sense to me. I've been diagnosed bipolar at a very young age and something people don't know about being bipolar is that you don't just get extreme depression but you also go through bouts of mania. When that mania hits that's when your ego inflates, you hardly sleep, you work harder on projects, you never shut up, you act dangerously thinking nothing can get you, become easily irritated and in the more extreme bouts of mania you may also become delusional. The delusions can become border line schizophrenic the only difference is we don't hallucinate things. One time during an extreme episode of mania, combined with MDMA which only intensified it, I thought I was the devil and I was kicked out of heaven for fucking too many angels. To me songs like Ghost Town remind me of manic episodes. I feel like, while he doesn't really talk about or address being bipolar, this album is more of a product of being bipolar. Just wish that it wasn't a rushed, unpolished and half finished project. Also, I don't make excuses for my or his behavior because being bipolar isn't an excuse. He has all the power to get help and prevent his shitty behavior from happening. Myke's shirt is awesome.

"Ye" is a cool album. I can't put it higher than that cuz like Feefo n Rod eluded to, it just sounded unfinished...like Kanye had some cool ideas but didn't fully realize them. I think with Kanye what we seeing now is his creative juices are being used more effectively for other artists. Pusha album sounded insane and Kanye still producing Teanna, Nas, and the Cudi collab albums. Kanye was a producer first and it seems creating for other people is his comfort zone right now cuz he himself and his music are lost right now. I expect the album with Cudi to be alot more fleshed out.

He has gotten to a point where he feels like he can put out anything and people will eat it up and call it gold, and if you look at the reactions to his work, good or bad, he's not wrong. You could almost say he's become complacent, simply due to the amount of praise he always gets, there's no real reason for him to do something innovative, like we know he's capable of.

I like ye’s authenticity, vulnerability, and rawness. it almost feels like I’m in a room with Kanye having a conversation with him, and that’s a feeling you definitely can’t get from the other more grandiose Kanye projects. I’m a huge fan of this album, it’s my favorite of the year so far.

I can't help but think of Jay Z's 4:44's (5-star album btw) similarity in format except for the lack of any music video thus far. *Short projects?* I personally prefer them, but what Myke stated about this being left overs to most likely compensate for *what's happened* is probably what happened with *Ye.* P.S. Remember when Beyonce dropped a project without any commentary and/or public appearance and it did very successful? Jesus........ If artist's Music is generated by their movements then that's something sad to consider (Appear here and there to finally say: release). If I was in the same position making *these type of songs,* then i'd be worried somebody will be quicker to catch a wave/content faster than I was able to get a hold of it.

Personally loved this album. Ghost Town is easily the best song on the album and arguably his best song since MBDTF for me.

But look, you shouldn't have to be a Kanye West fan in order to like this album. Say in a few years or so someone feels like listening to "ye" as their introduction to the artist, I don't think it'll have much or any appeal. And like what Feefo said, "I think Kanye should stick to producing".. I wholeheartedly agree!

heavily disappointed in breezy and ken in this review tbh. Ken is just so extremely biased that all his points seem invalid and skewed It's like he goes into it already hating the album. It's straight childish that Beezy, a (part time) music reviewer, is unable to seperate the art from the artist. No point of even having him in this video if he didn't even listen to it(still love both of you though) With that being said I think Ye is pretty subpar but also a solid addition to Yeezy's discography. Definitely feels like there could've been more time put into this but I also feel like I got a good look into Kanye's headspace. None of the beats were off the wall and the album doesn't have this huge grandiose feel to it but I like that about it. Feels more personal that way. Idk what they going on about when it comes to Ghost Town. Yes Cudi's singing is VERY out of key but that's been him since day 1 and honestly it's kind of turned into his own style and I find it listenable/even good at times. 6/10 for me.
