This killing voice filled me with nostalgia and completely reminded me of how old I am 😂 Despite their awesome chemistry, this lineup is actually brand new (in a way)! Nicole and Jiyoung left the group in 2014. They then aired a reality show to find a new member where trainees competed against each other. Youngji won the place, and fun fact, in second place was Somin who went on to debut in KARD. We then sadly lost Hara, but she's still there in spirit Nicole and Jiyoung rejoined the group for this anniversary and are promoting with Youngji for the first time, and it's great! You can tell that they're having a ball up there! It felt like a real celebration of their career. Shout out to the Kamilia out there!

I see you feeling JiYoung (girl on the far left)! If you're into Kdramas, she's actually starred in a couple of them since the group disbanded years ago. Other members that have starred in Kdramas are Han Seongyeon (2nd from the left) and Park Gyuri (girl in the middle). The original OT5, with Hara, had their own Kdrama and each of the members starred in their own episode. If you're into anime, there's actually a KARA ANIME! YES! They were SO POPULAR in Japan that they got their own anime, lol. Stan these multi-talented 2nd gen Queens :D

like many 2nd gen groups KARA got a an elegant and sexy concept with killer's vocal's my very first favorite kpop groups when i was young .

I was not a huge Kara fan before I was more on Suju/SNSD BigBang/2ne1 but like most 2nd gen fans being a fan of a specific group doesn’t mean I only listen to them. During the golden era of kpop you could say everyone that was part of that era listen to almost every group vibing and enjoying it without that territorial hate that most 3rd and 4th gen has now. Kara was definately one of those groups I used to listen and seeing them coming back and all this 2nd gen groups be it boy group or girl group is such a roller coaster ride. This was 2nd gen was all about. It was always about enjoying music, simple, elegant and catchy dance steps, live vocals and serious stage presence. And experience has nothing to do with that when you meet other sec gen fans you would know what I’m talking about. 2nd gen is just built differently. Go visit KARA’s new mv and listen and enjoy it!

Actullay yungji ( grey dress ) joined the group during an audition after nicol (pink dress) and jiyeon ( red hair ) left KARA So these five girls never been together for 15 years but i remember that they were always sweet and epic even between second gen idols not only fans 🥹🥹 I’m not sure if i mentioned names correctly after 8 yrs 🫢

There are a decent number of title tracks they didn’t include in Killing Voice btw. Which is good! Means there’s more to discover! My favorite KARA title track is Pandora. I definitely recommend doing a series for them!

Kara were the first girl group I discover back then 🥹🥹 it feels sooo good seeing them back 😭 my fav titles by them are lupin, damaged lady and pandora ❤️ i was obsessed with lupin when it first released I can’t describe how much I love this song specially their stages were so❤️‍🔥 their live vocals & stage presence are something else (i feel like it’s always the case with every 2nd gen group) I highly recommend you to watch their performances, they’re insanely good. Kara members had many Japanese songs including solo activities, Jiyoung (the red hair) was famous with named JY to sing a Japan drama ost, she's active in Japan for 5 years before returned to Korea. All Kara's members including Hara were likely prefer Japan for their comebacks / solo.

The one that reminds you of Hyorin is Nicole. She actually did a song with her, along with Hyuna, Hyosung (Secret) and Nana (After School). Their group is called Dazzling Red and the song is This Person. You can watch their live performance in RU-vid. It's one of the best songs out there.

This was the third group I discovered in 2012 after being introduced by PSY's Gangam Style. I followed Hyuna through her two groups from his video and then found KARA. They are my #1 group all time. 2nd Gen was the best time.

some background and history about the band -KARA is a 2nd generation group formed by the DSP MEDIA agency (K.A.R.D) in 2007 the group had several reshuffles because members left the group and others joined along the way. the historic members of the group are .GYURI, SEUGYOUNG, NICOLE, SEUGHEE. but quickly SEUGHEE left the group and 2 other members joined the group HARA and JIYOUNG. it is this training that has enjoyed immense success from 2008 to 2014. if during 3rd gen the dominant trinity was RED VELVET / TWICE / BLACKPINK . the dominant trinity of the 2nd gen was GIRLS GENERATION /KARA / 2NE1 . KARA was especially very popular in Japan, it is thanks to groups like KARA and SUPER JUNIOR that the "KPOP WAVE" spread outside of South Korea. KARA was so popular in Japan that they sold more albums there than in South Korea. even the GGs of "JPOP" couldn't compete. then in 2014 NICOLE and JINYOUNG left the group. DSP then launched a survival show "KARA PROJECT" to find a new member. following that YOUNGJI joined the group. Then unexpectedly DSP MEDIA disbanded the group in 2016. A few years later learned of GO HARA's suicide drama and the members made a few appearances to make a special tribute to him. and now the group is reforming something new in KPOP with GYURI / SEUGYOUNG / NICOLE / YOUNGJI and JINYOUNG for their 15th anniversary they are managed by RBW ( MAMAMOO, PURPLE KISS) the big question is is it a one shot or is it e revival and a re-debut ???. I stand KARA from pretty girl period..and kept rock U after and keep support them(even now) I see them grow up day by day from girls group who got bad word as cant sing to this stable one and legend I cant say anything more just proud I grown up with them I can say…even Nicole once said about ‘Effort never betray’ I keep this word lead my life as I see how Kara success They are more than Idols for me but good model…they dont make me feel obsessed and crazy but lifted me up

Gen 2 kpop when every member could dance and sing while serving visuals. Time flies…

Kara debut as a 4 member group in 2007 before 1 of them decided to leave because of family issue. Then they added 2 more members Jiyoung (far left) and late Hara in 2008. In 2014 two members Jiyoung and Nicole (pink shirt) decided not to renew their contract and leaves the group. After their departure, their company DSP media decided to do a reality show to select new member from their trainee. Youngji (far right) won and got selected as a new member. They disbanded in 2016 after 3 of the members Gyuri, Seungyeon and Hara contract expired and they left the company. Meanwhile Youngji stay at the company and promote as a solo artist and actress. And some fans said Youngji still stay in the company till today because she wants to protect and keeps the 'KARA' name so they can still used the name in the future (DSP Media has bad reputation as a entertainment company). But now the company has been acquired by RBW.

The sex appeal of a second gen group and the vibe of 4th gen group. All this 2nd gen coming back and pulling this 4gen sounds are a gift to all of us. Who ever thought that 2nd gen can't compare to new groups have been over and over proved wrong. This comeback was insane and I'm so here for it.

Correct me, member from left to right: Jiyoung, Seungyeon, Gyuri, Nicole, Youngji Except Youngji and Jiyoung, another three members were the original Kara member. On their debut era, they have 4 members include Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole and Sunghee. But 1 year after debut, Sunghee left the group. After she left, 2 members entered the group (Jiyoung and Hara). Thats mean they have 5 members when they have first comeback stage until the last comeback before mamammia. Before mamammia, Jiyoung and Nicole left the group and DSP announced Kara will promoted with only 3 members. But, then DSP made a survival show name Kara Project and Youngji win and enter the group before mamammia. So the final lineup: Gyuri, Hara, Seungyeon, and Youngji (she is the maknae, she is 3 years younger than snsd seohyun)

DG can you imagine than they all got more than 30 years old now ????but they still can sound like 16 years old girls . they're very versatile they also can be very mature and sexy . the girl you find cute and adorable is SEUGYONG they're main vocal . she's also an actress during they're 7 years of inactivity in the music field she became an actress and a good one . they're discographie is very good (mostly disco or retro songs but they can sing every genre ) my favorite songs are MISTER ,PANDORA , JUMPING ,LUPIN and one of my top 10 kpop songS of all time STEP .

Iguana was a nickname of Goo Hara - resemblence in pronounciation. That lizard in Eight MV represent her. And animated girl was Sulli.
