"Karajan became weaker and weaker. These were difficult times. We didn't know at that time whether or not he would be strong enough to do another concert. But Karajan pulled through until the very end. It's unbelievable what sheer will can do." - Werner Resel about Karajan during his final months conducting.

Herr Resel, At 14 years of age I discovered great music because of Karajan. Being north of Toronto, I never had the opportunity to thank him. He is the greatest conductor in the history of our civilization. I know what his secret was, but only a few other musical artists can find it. I know he saw all of us who loved his work. That sounds nuts, but, it isn't.

...was Karajan's Nazi Party Number?

Yes he was, a two time member of the NSDAP. Karajan was a fervent national socialist.

@@rohanbansal2324 But only because there was no other possibility for him in that time to conduct. He didn't like the NSDAP at all. So no one should call Karajan a Nazi because he wasn't. He was a unbelievable Musician until his Dead and maybe also in heaven he will go on making Music, because his music he made on Earth came directly from heaven.

@@EwicoCylinder Thank you for that. Most people do not understand the situation he was in. He was an amazing conductor who did what he had to do. Most people had to join the party or they would not succeed.

@@joshuarodriguez6332 Yes, your right. He did everything to help a musician where he could and still some people hate him. In my opinion he was the most Human Conductor Ever lived.
