Love how KC is giving credibility back to Karate's authenticity.....the watered down product w/ the majority of schools (North America) that I'm familiar with, emphasizes more on family programs and getting in shape while you empty your pockets for a system that doesn't really instill what 'Karate' is supposed to emulate....... If that's how a person wants to learn or spend their money, then go for it.....but I'm glad Karate is getting it's due once again, after being bombarded w/ 'McDojo-like' atmosphere's and training.....Karate Combat does justice for the art and always look forward to the competitions they put on as an alternative to the conventional MMA products out there....it's a breathe of fresh air.

As a Karateka or nearly 30 years and third degree black belt I love you guys along with Machida restoring Karate's reputation. It was badly damaged by McDojo's and really a failure to adapt quickly to MMA. Many have adapted now and realize the Kata's include a lot of grappling techniques especially if you look at old school Okinawa with tegumi. Kumite should be more like mma, the Kata's prove that is what Karate is. McDojo's are still a problem though.

It finally got to the point when I told him if he didn’t leave me alone, he would be sorry. He said that he would like to see me try. As soon as he finished that sentence I hit him with 3 precise punches. I hit just below the sternum on his chest, came back with a kidney shot from my left hand, and finished with a shot square to his face. It was worth getting suspended for that. I never got messed with after that. It was something to see a scrawny 5’8 115 pound kid swing on another kid that easily has 30 pounds and a few inches of height on me. Thankfully that was one of the few fights I have ever been in.

learned for 7 years shotokan and fought bexers , kickboxers and ufc fighters . None of them could long kick like me but i surely didnt know how to get many punches . bexers in close range destroyed me but kickboxers had a hard time with me and was the most fun with them but ufc they just know to pack a punch and get a kick , respect for all of them .(also the sec brown belt)

Kyokushin is a 1964 mixed art of everything, karate, boxing, muaythai, taekwondo and etc. except punch in the face which is not allowed. So technically not a traditional karate. Kyokushin is quite stronger, however it all defends on one's training and hard work, Shotokan can also be stronger if it change its rules and apply the hard training style.

As Mas Oyama said, Shotokan Karate/Traditional Karate is like a dance. Kyokushin Karate is a wall that cannot be broken.
