I love how John Denver is so tender with Karen. That's the type of person Karen needed to be with, I just wish she would have found someone like that. I feel it would have helped her in a way.
Science is Surreal, that's exactly what I was thinking. And if only John Denver didn't marry Annie, it would have been really interesting if Karen Carpenter and John Denver actually got married in reality. And yes he was very kind and tender to Karen something I wish she could have experienced on earth. However nonetheless Karen Carpenter and John Denver had beautiful voices and they harmonize so well together!
She may have found that someone but a lot of people (family, Richard, record company, etc...) where meddling in her personal life and who she was trying to date. Pretty sad when you read the details of what was occurring.
@@rover8783 That's right. There is a video on here, John Adrian, working for A&M in the UK, hit it off very well with her, thought about moving to L.A., but the company ordered him to break it off.
I have thought the same thing, (though John was still married to Annie Martell in '76) or a Dan Fogelberg (also married. ) Got a hunch that Richard and Agnes could not have handled that.
Two of my favourite singers......both dead and missed very much by the world. We don't get music like this anymore sadly.....maybe I am a nostalgic sap but that's the way I feel.
Karen died of anorexia, an inheritable psychological disorder which kills 10% of those who experience it. John died in the crash of an airplane he had just purchased, which had a non-standard control layout built by and for a pilot of much larger physical stature. To suggest that either was a suicide indicates an ignorance of the facts.
Karen at her most beautiful it breaks my heart that she wasn't loved as she should have been and had a much happier, better life.I will always love and miss you Karen xx
+Derek Gold. But she WAS ! She was loved by millions all over the world . Perhaps she didn't receive that kind of love from the people she most needed it from. But as long as she has fans she has an abundance of love .
Unreal, the best sings with the best,John and Karen, what more do we want? Really missing them,RIP,John and Karen, you guys have brought so much good memories to all your fans around the world, love you guys very much forever
did u see it also? her eyes were on him not the camera and even went to lay her head on his shoulder!! that would be a sweet couple John Denver and karen!!
His pure tenor and her rich alto what a great combination. Wish the song choice had been different. Something that they could have really harmonized on.
I agree Michelle . . . I also sure hope they both made it there safely . . . if not, I sure hope at least some angels are good at doing singing impressions . . .
Oh WOW !! How WONDERFULLY their voices blended !! I would have LOVED to hear them record together !! What a GREAT LOSS FOR US that we lost them both so early !! THANK YOU for sharing this !!
Two of my all time favorite singers. grew up listening to both of them. Karen had a special voice as did John and they sang about good things.....John actually sings his rendition of James Taylor' Fire and Rain wish is pretty awesome. I love James the way he sang it too....John sings it just a tad differently. The 70's rendered some great talent.
First time I've seen this! Their vocal harmonies sound so good together, like they were just meant to duet with each other. I wish there were more songs with them singing together. Karen and John left us too soon, but heaven has one heck of a band!
Awwww....how much more sweeter heaven is now with those two angels...we miss them terribly, thank you both for leaving your music. We dare not ask for more
I am sure Karen and John are serenading Jesus as we speak... God Bless them both - what a fantastic gift to us for a few years. Love the 70s stuff....thanks for posting this stuff.
ThePHILALLENSHOW There's a Karen Carpenter website & a recent question was who would be the perfect husband for Karen. I was surprised at some suggestions...especially re: Elvis Presley. My answer was John Denver. They were both sweet gentle people with golden voices. They both had a dark side but I think together they could have made it through. This video shows them as the sweet couple I envisioned & that kiss sealed the deal for me.
@@andym3603 Find the Petula Clark video where she talks about Elvis and Karen. I think Elvis wanted to skip right to honeymoon until Petula took Karen out of there.
@@harvey1954 Thanks Harvey's. I think I did see that video. I've talked about that incident & many have said they thought it was just hype. But in that I interview Petula made it quite clear that she had to get Karen out of that room because she could tell what Elvis might want to do. She said Karen had no idea of his motives as she was so you g & naive.
If this video could be properly packaged in China, it would sell about 30X platinum -- Karen Carpenter and John Denver were the most-loved recording artists there since the country was "opened" to foreign music around 1980,and the Carpenters and Denver were instrumental in China's escape from the "music-less" dark ages of the Maoist Era.
WOW! I had never heard this until right now ! How could I have missed this piece of musical genius for so long ? What a beautiful mélange of two of the world's most distinctive voices, This is an absolute delight .
I love them both, so sweet, they were both immensely talented and died WAY too young. :( Karen was so rare not many singers like her in the world with that kind of magic. And also John too, he was as well. Both had soothing pure voices. :)
The angels and Jesus himself up in heaven are enjoying what we so richly had on earth for only a short time. RIP Karen and John, your music will last for eternity
Hermosas voces, hermosas personas, hermosos recuerdos. Escuchándolos brotan con nuestras lágrimas lo mejor de nuestros recuerdos. Ha sido un regalo el haberlos tenido juntos en nuestro tiempo. Gracias a ambos.
Just imagine how beautiful Heaven sounds with those two singing away - so lovely! I really miss them, their voices are just as angelic here on Earth as they are in Heaven.
two of my VERY FAV singers EVER, so sad that they are BOTH "gone" from us... to think HOW MUCH MORE wonderful music and accomplishments they would have done in addition to their "many"... really is sad, I STILL cry when I hear either of them sing, they had a HUGE impact on me musically from an early age, I am a 70's girl born in 1965, so these are My singers, My songs... Great era for music, song... RIP Karen and John, you are both missed...
Karen is an Angel ...... She was a Gift to this Cruel World and if there is a Heaven after this life, it won't be a Heaven to Me unless Karen is Within it. John Denver was an inspiration as well, BUT, I've Never been In Love with Him.........as I am with Karen !
Two singers who, tragically, left us way too soon. I can't believe this has never been officially been put out on record. I saw it once on a Japanese CD, but didn't want to pay $37 for it because the American version was suppose to come out. When it did the US version dropped this gem. What a crime.
Their vocal harmonies blend perfectly in this! Two great singers gone long before their time :(. If Karen was still around, she would undoubtedly produced some great music and gone far with her career.
I Think They would've been a Great Couple Being How Mesmerizing and Inspirational their Music was. What a Great Duo Combination! One of the Bests I've Seen.
Rest in peace beautiful song birds....xoxo forever...2 of my favorites together. What a treat! So wonderful to be able to see videos like this one. Thanks so much!
I saw Karen at the Springfield Civic Center in Massachusetts and it will be a show I will never forgot. The seats were right up front with nothing in front of me except the stage. A voice and talent that will never be duplicated. I miss you Karen.
Escuché esta canción cuando era pequeño y me quedó grabada en la memoria, pero nunca supe el nombre. Hoy, después de 40 años la he vuelto a encontrar. Gracias por subirla.
Both Great Singers Gone To Soon ! Sweet And Simple Singers , What Story Tellers In Their Voices RIP You 2 Do what you Do Best sing with the Angels and God , God Is Blessing You Both Julie
