Hard to believe so many years ago..one of those moments where you can remember where you were when we heard it on the radio..what a beautifully talented person..just loved their music ..still do..had so much meaning to life .
What a truly beautiful voice she had. I believe that God brought her music into my life as I too suffered from a deadly eating disorder. Because of her, I got the treatment I needed and my life saved. Thank you Karen...you still inspire me everyday!!!!!!!
And suddenly, the world was introduced to and learned about anorexia nervosa. A sad tragedy, indeed. Glad you were astute enough to gain from such a loss as Karen. I became a fitness fanatic and dietary consultant because of that tragedy; perhaps saving my life as well. Stay strong.
Karen's beautiful voice on radio 📻 would grab my attention when i was a boy I'm 63yrs old , I still haven't heard beautiful voice that compares to Karen Carpenter's ❤
This lady was definitely a beautiful person inside and out. She sure had the voice of an angel and a very warm heart. It is so sad that she passed away at such a young age. I think that her music and memories will live on forever. She is dearly loved and sadly missed
Met Karen at our dentist office in Oct 1976! What a thrill i was so excited and nervous but enjoyed every second.....she was so sweet to me and kind to this 24 year old crazy fan!!! So pretty in person.....gorgeous A moment or two in time that i will remember the rest of my life: My 2 friends met Karen a few times while working at Gemco there in Downey and met the entire family!
grew up in san francisco, this song reflects the great time it was back in the day-mellow--more respect and love back then. california dreamin was still alive. all gone now. its sad-we all lose!
What a melodic voice Karen had. It portrayed hurt, hope, and resolution all at the same time. Doubtful we'll find thi sort of talent again any time soon.
Today is Monday and its raining here in cali what a perfect song for a day like this , and yes She had the perfect voice and song choices miss her dearly
She can make some of the most incredible sounds. It seems odd but close your eyes and listen to the word.. it's at about the 2:25 mark. Actually just close your eyes and listen to the whole thing. She was one of a kind.
What great phrasing. What a great voice. And it is so weird.. the poignancy in her voice, which always sounded genuine now comes through time as a direct connection to her heart.
Lots of memories beautiful summers sharing life with friends and loved ones some no longer here indeed we may never pass this way again this tune brings me back to those days that have passed so precious times.❤
what a beautiful voice karen had silky smoothe she was the best no one can compare to her always remember her beautiful songs shes one in 50 million thanks karen for voice
The entire sound was perfect. Yes, she was the star of it, but he was as well in the studio. When the sax break comes in, it just pushes it up and she is every match for it with the vocal that cries out blues and blahs, really from the depths. An amazing artist - what a talent. Still one of my top ten concerts in the spring of 1974.
What makes for a good voice? I know this voice is beautiful, I can’t quite explain why. The enunciation, the measured step; one by one. I don’t know, but her voice makes me happy.
When I was in the 6th grade in 1970, my teacher had this album and played it in class just because. I actually stopped what I was doing to listen to her sing. It was very calming. Maybe that’s why he played it…ya think.
What a lovely voice I love how she sounds just wish we had her a little bit longer but what she left us is sweet voice god Bess you Karen RIP my friend never forgotten at least you have your parents up there keeping a eye on you lol
I think those of us who grew up in the 60's and 70's are thr lucky ones. I certainly want s kid or teen growing up the way thinks are today. I am saying that it was perfect but it was a hec of a lot than now.
Looking at these comments it seems that the world is more divided than ever before . The only thing the left and right agree on is that Burt Bacharach’s music bridges the gulf between us, A great talented man
In those days ,we'd want to tease our hair like Jane did at the crown. So many of these photos I remember from the magazines I bought like "16", and others. It was a great time to be young and beautiful !! Still love our Jane !!
lisen to this song! just about love--not all the hype and music of today like lady gaga or whatever she is. music had substance then. now-trash goes to the top.
This song although singing about fame and riches sounds like he is singing about being lonely and unhappy . Thats what i get from it anyway . Incredible sadness .
She has the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. Even so, you can tell she is uncomfortable. She was always so comfortable behind her drums. Richard was terrible for making her come out from behind them. I'm sure that played a part in her problems.
How do you know that Richard was terrible and made her come out from behind the drums and that played a part in her problems? He was her brother and blaming him is outrageous. As you know she was anorexic. I do agree tho thst she had the voice of an angel.
@@stephenpayne2151Wrong. She was depressed and unhappy from a failed marriage and not being able to play drums. Everyone just wanted the money she made! No one cared for her true happiness!!
Karen Carpenters voice is unmistakable - you. Always know its her. Its not something that griws on you or you learn to love. It is gorgeous abd thats that.
