Hi Mr. Music! I “enjoyed” this overlook on Karen’s troubles. I put it quotes, as it’s so sad. I knew back then all too well about Anorexia. I had the opposite issue and was in OA which was AA for food, a 12 Step program. There were all types as members, so we were all quite aware. When Karen died it hit us all hard. I have one thing to add and that is going to set up our next request. There was a certain song that was in progress when Karen died. She never heard it nor sang it. It was a Richard Carpenter And Cynthia Weil (with 2 others) song; Something In Your Eyes. In 1987 Richard finally gave life to the song with Dusty Springfield for his solo album, Time. It was beautiful but it was supposed to be for Karen. Flash forward to late April 2024 at The Carpenters 55th Anniversary Celebration, in Downey California. A four day Carpenters festival. On night 2 at The United Methodist Church of Downey (where Karen’s funeral was). The Acoustic Night was held. It was eight acts from around the world all singing Carpenters songs in their honor. The youngest invitee was a 20 year old from Minneapolis, Tori Holub. She sang one Carpenters song, as her second song. Yesterday Once More. She was the only singer that night to sing a non-Carpenters song. She opened with: Something In Your Eyes. I was there that night and recorded Tori on my iPhone. As with the official video, it’s a bit on the boomy side and some crowd noise. You can click through my ID to see my video and my pinned comment with links to all the videos from the event. BUT NOT YET! That’s a spoiler. When Tori got home and saw the official video she wasn’t happy with it and remastered a Studio Version. She used a clean piano track from Drew Jansen the pianist at the show. This is what I want you to see. Her creation of a clean and full version of this song. I’m going to give you a warning. It hits hard. Knowing the history of this song and what she accomplished here, brace yourself. You can say if I oversold it, in the reaction if you want. I’ll go donate when this post locks into the comments. A couple of side notes. RC met Tori at the 55th. He was a surprise guest on the last night and did a Q&A with Chris May, (link in my pinned comment) then signed autographs etc for an hour with us. I was too shy to get a picture but I’m near him in the group shot! I did get a photo with Tori. ❤ You can see the Tori/RC photo on my video thumbnail. AFTER the reaction, though the pic isn’t a spoiler. Did you see my earlier comments on YOUR first Tori video being what RU-vid showed to Lee Richey which inspired him to reach out to her and do an interview? And congrats on that video getting to 40K! I saw some of the event at the church. I wonder if you mind, I had planned to do something on that event. I found the whole idea very interesting.

@@TheMusicMindset2023it sounds great but I think the ”Studio Version” stands alone from the full event. Doing the reaction to her remaster doesn’t affect using the raw church video from Chip’s official video. They are different enough to be two things. I want your take on Tori’s recreation of the song. Does this make sense? If you held back being spoiled, then reacting to that version is perfect. IMHO You are one of the perfect candidates. An “older” true Carpenters fan who knows this is “the missing Carpenters song.” What are your thoughts? Joe

@@jbs256 I was mainly talking about the fact of the event happening in the first place and its support from all around the world in the name of KC, etc. I'll tell you more later.
