saw a vid on "emotional moments from Doctor Who" and they did NOT include the image of young Amelia sitting on her suitcase w/ hat and coat waiting in her back yard-- which always was a heart breaker for me.

The truth is that he probably views her as a frivolous young actress who is a flash in the pan. He probably made his mind up from the beginning that she had nothing of interest or note to say, so he just powered through it. Now I'm not saying I agree with him, but as an 86 year old pro in the business, he has seen actors and actresses come and go more times than you and I have peed. :P

It's mostly just his style to quickly say his questions so that most of the time is spent on the guest talking. A lot of other interviewers seem to like to hear themselves talk more than the guest. But it does also seem like he's sick here and doesn't have his usual energy.

He doesn't have the breath or energy to interrupt anymore.

@@blofeld39 If he's not up to it, why's he doing it? This sort of interview needs to be a conversation, with the interviewer shaping the direction and providing some of the energy. This would have been appallingly awful if Karen weren't completely upbeat, energetic and mad. I think the audience just block out the mumbling stumbling old man and focus on Karen.
