When Carrie Roberts testified she said she was on the phone with Karen when driving the o'keeffe's to the hospital. She stated Karen Reed said she dropped him off and went home and Mrs O'Keefe yelled you just left him there! Mr O'Keefe told her to calm down. Could that possibly be why Karen left the house quickly and said she would probably never see them again, because she was already being blamed by John's mother?
Yes I believe 100% for that to be true! I have a feeling that Karen and Peggy didn’t get along even before the death. I know Karen was close with Mr O’Keefe though- there is a reason that Mr O’Keefe was not at court majority of the time. All of John’s other extended family too- none of them there- because they do not believe that KR is responsible.

I really hope they find a way AROUND that judge. She let in "evidence" with no chain of custody; She invited objections on behalf of Lally; she hid from the court the basis of objections perhaps bc her reach exceeds her grasp; but most of all she was a complete wipeout on the jury instructions piece. Her pathetic need to be the star, the "decider" , duh... made her more ridiculous than Judge Ito. MA judicial system is shameful and certainly not worthy of emulation anywhere in this world. Aside from the vulgar language and disparaging comments about Karen, Proctor demonstrated how he locked on Karen’s guilt & failed to investigate properly. He also ADMITTED ON THE STAND that he asked for a witness to give his wife a gift, falsified the critical time the car arrived at the sally port on numerous official documents, illegally searched her phone and drove his cruiser after drinking alcohol.

Attorney Mark Bederow is brilliant, an an amazing mind, so discerning and so dead on, he knows this case, exactly, he misses no details, he is exacting and very impressive how he sees it all, he is a late comer comparatively, I am impressed as hell!
Yeah, that’s what makes him an effective attorney, no doubt. All of those qualities. I’ve been pretty disappointed with his actual predictions, though. The number of times he convinced me that “the trial was over”, that she’d be acquitted, that it was a cake walk….none of it was accurate.
The false grief is sickening. He struggles to find nice things to say about his brother and clearly hates Karen and Jackson. He's a disgrace and should be shaking the DA to reopen the investigation and get justice for his brother. After watching their behaviour in court I lost all respect and sympathy for the O'Keffe family except the poor father. Science doesn't lie and excusing Proctor is just beyond ridiculous. They need to open their eyes and minds otherwise the hurt will be so much harder. I feel for those children.
Their HATE is palpable. It sounds like Paul abandoned his niece and nephew in John's home. He's probably just paying for their lifestyle and doesn't really give a sh*t about what they do otherwise. Remember, no one else in the family stepped up to help raise those kids before John died. And the resentment Paul has for being forced into this position oozes out of every pore. Heartbreaking.

Just because the tactful jury note stated "some of us" believe not guilty and "some others" do not does NOT mean it was an equitable split vote. We will see if we learn more.
Similarly, it doesn't mean that there was any more than a single holdout either. An intelligent, respectful juror would have made sure to not call attention to ONE person.

I felt during the entire trial that the thing would be judged not on the evidence, but on the bias of class and some dislike of the " he thinks he is so good" ideas some people harbor. The judgement of the drinking and driving, the fact she was soooo educated. Sad. The O'Keefs can't get past the dislike of her to even look at the facts. I hope she has the money to hire someone to get to the truth because the state won't.

I don't even think "did she mow him down?" is the foundational question the jurors should have asked themselves. Shouldn't it have been "WAS he mowed down?". If he wasn't ( he wasn't (!) as evidenced) it's a wrap. Game over. None of the charges apply. No?

The Judge should have asked the Foreperson if they were hung on all charges or if they agreed on some. I saw this in other trials and there the Judge acquitted the defendant from the murder charge. This Judge didn’t even wanted to know!
Ryan Nagel drove to the house behind Karen.. he let her turn down the street before he did. He notice 2 people in the car. He went there to seee if his sister needed a ride home. When he left, all the occupants of the car noticed Karen Read was alone in the car. They all testified Karen did not back up, did not hit a pedestrian and they did not see damaged lights.
In the inverted video, a photo is taken of the front of the SUV in the sally port by “the tow truck driver.” What about a photo of the rear? Just wondering more about the lack of photos in this case. Smh.
I was watching this on replay. I just wanted to say, reading the live chat with Paul's interview, that let's be respectful to the O'Keefe family. They have lost so much. It is frustrating to listen to this "Karen is quilty" pov being pro Karen, but the family has their feelings and people (like Jen) in their ear. Still, they have suffered massive losses and this is hard for them. Just hoping for grace and justice for JO and Karen. ❤️
I’m not from USA .I only follow this case just 10 days ago I don’t know anything before this case but after the Arcca evidence I believe is not involved any car in this case. I don’t understand why is still want to re trial this case. Who understands physics and science agree with me. Car is not involved this 100% .Not the car hit him.
She didn't like Jackson and Yanetti as they put a motion in pre trial for her to stand down, and she said she doesn't think that it was not valid reason, and will not step down.
GUYS- THINK WITH YOUR BRAINS PLEASE- I don’t understand how the jury could have informally agreed she wasn’t guilty of murder and FAILED to formally acquit her on paper. THERE WERE 2 LAWYERS on that jury. You’re telling me that BOTH of those lawyers failed to explain to their fellow jurors how to acquit on one charge and hang on another???? This doesn’t seem remotely possible. Something nefarious happened in there, OR we are getting bad reporting. Where do these stories come from? I don’t mean “where did you hear this”, I mean what is the ultimate source?? Unless it’s an actual juror, I wouldn’t believe any of this crap.

2 things that concern me, apparently at the initial hearings in Stoughton, Karen's defence was an unintentional accident. Also why did she say to Erin and Paul O'Keefe hours after the death "remember the bad times, I don't think I'll speak to you again". If these 2 things are true it does raise questions. It doesn't change the fact that everyone in that house looks and acted guilty. AND THE DOG BITES!

The thing is, all these comments KR allegedly made are HEARSAY. If Jen is willing to LIE about KR saying "I hit him! I hit him! I hit him!" (Which she obviously did because this trial is the very first time she made this claim. She never made this claim in multiple grand juries.) How can you trust ANYTHING said by people dead set on making sure KR is thrown in jail for life and the key is thrown away!?
We have to remember Karen had been traumatized and in such a shock that she had to be sectioned. The family would not let her go say goodbye to John in the hospital and they put a restraining order against her that morning. Oh I almost forgot, Mrs O'Keefe immediately blamed Karen on the way to the hospital for leaving him there. Mr O'Keefe had to tell her to stop and leave Karen alone.
I have concerns to with what KR stated. I hope the next trial will bring more to this case. I think Johns legal team was quite nonchalant with everything. Is this because they were state Lawyers and not like KRs family did by paying for top lawyers. Johns family has had a lots of issues and deaths, so they would not have had the money. I think KRs lawyers were bullies.
With the snow on the sallyport floor before the vehicle is driven could they have backed the car in and then decided to take it out and bring it in front ways as by backing it in the tail light might be visible to the video camera Its clear the snow came fron something and that something could be Reads vehicle
Someone here on RU-vid took out the background noises on the 911 call that Jen made…oooooo it’s nothing like what she testified! Karri (sp?) was the one that wouldn’t get off John in the snow. Not Karen. She was saying “Karri Karri you gotta get off him” and she whispered to dispatcher “no” to doing cpr…she whispered, “I think he’s already dead” or very similar to that…she’d already begun spinning the story.

Basically, Karen is a victim of the system and of course John is definitely a victim. They’ll be no justice for that family as long as they truly believe Karen did it. They don’t want the truth and they won’t get it.
So much time went by prior to Karen going to John’s house to see the kids and get her stuff. Paul had already made up his mind because so much time had gone by and he had plenty of time to talk to Jennifer McCabe, who lied her face off to him and the world. I feel bad for John’s dad because I know he was close to Karen and I think he knows the truth which must weigh on him!!
If there is a next trial, the defense atty closing arguments need to include “no vehicle strike = not guilty on all counts!” The jury was confused and didn’t hv clear guidelines on reasonable doubt.

Paul mentioned that he hadn't spoke to the FBI I think that that is imperative that he does and I'm hoping that they do call him. Maybe it doesn't work that way maybe he has to call them but it would lend an ear of credibility and clarity considering he didn't believe all their studies in conclusions they came to from their own testing in the trial which is wild to me.

I got to 40 witnesses from my memory and I watched EVERYDAY of trial. Transcript read back or even rewatching Court tv live coverage would be essential in a case this long.
The only thing that MUST be hammered home is if you think its possible that ANYTHING other than the CW's theory happened, that is reasonable doubt and the CW has NOT met their burden and you MUST rule Not Guilty! Also, they must stress the defense has ZERO burden and you don't need to to believe the defense theory, you only need to believe ANYTHING else could have happened. Even if you are thinking both theories could have been true then you lawfully you still MUST rule in favor of the defense because in that case you still have reasonable doubt! Lally effing confused the hell out of the jury. If these jurors understood these two things to be the law, I literally can not think of any Olympic level mental gymnastics could make an honest jurors conclude anything other than Not Guilty. If the jury members are honest and actually follow the law there is no way any sane person could possibly come to any other conclusions. They just need to stress than anything other than Karen's SUV hitting Officer O'Keefe causing his death, by law, that is an instant Not Guilty.
