We Indians lost the golden opportunity because of our politics...we could have gone further down in Pakistan & taught Musharraf a better lesson...the international community would have supported us because it was Pakistan who started all of it...I hope in future our govts will not lose such an opportunity again...everybody has to die one day but out coming generations will live in peace

after listening to this discussion a few conclusions 1. Myth of our army's discipline is broken, discipline is only limited up to lower level 2. Army generals are powerful and can do anything on their own. 3. All power is concentrated to the army chief which is principally very very risky this means if he wants to take any action if it is against the country he can take it. 4. The civilian government can't take action against those generals who break the constitution. 5. Generals concepts, planning, strategy and tactics are not up to competency level. 6. They don't think that they are under civilian government rather they call them incompetent

I love general Musharraf but this failed because so many soldiers were eating one spoon of sugar and melted snow to drink. Our troops were climbing while fighting while they were in bunkers our troops had to lob grenades at angles in excess of 50 degrees upwards while their troops had thes slope and gravity to their advantage our troops had assault rifles while theirs had heavy machine guns and belt fed anti aircraft guns down on our men from behind bunkers The tide turned with the Bofors and Mirages hammered them.
Unfortunate that the person appointed as DG ISI at that time is unaware of the number of casualties, actually happened.this operation showed that Military high command of Pakistan is incompetent, unskilled careless in their attitude.if it would happen in a democratic country the generals would be fixed.we Lost half of Pakistan but our Army has swelled to its triple.
