I sometimes feel like Karl hates the way everyone makes fun of him constantly and laughs as though everything he says is a joke but he tries to force himself to put up with it because now it’s his job. He’s not a moron, he’s just not very good at articulating his thoughts clearly and all in all he’s just a dead sound, down to Earth, normal bloke.
The thing about people convincing themselves or pretending to like famous places is so true. They are often disappointing but you feel like you're not allowed to say so. I felt that way at the Taj Mahal. It was a bit small, a bit boring, seen plenty more interesting palaces, but I was with a big group and just kinda pretended it was amazing to save the hassle of a disagreement. It's refreshing to see that honesty Just to clarify, I saw some incredible things in India, that just wasn't one of them
''Why are you looking like that? I've traveled all about the world, seen some really weird stuff, and just because I said I like dancing you're sort of like... *pulls a disapproving face* -.- '' ''It's a good way of getting rid of stress, isn't it? And that's world-wide as well, when you think about tribes and everything around the world, everybody dances.'' (Interviewer starts to waffle on about erecting a blue plaque in memory of something a 'celebrity' did when he was a kid). This is the beauty of Karl. He is a person, and he sees everyone else as a person. He refuses to feel shame for doing something harmless that makes him feel good, and knows that millions of other people around the world, from all other cultures, feel the same. Every single time I see him having a conversation with someone he comes across as the better person. No prejudice, no shame, no ego, no hate - he's just Karl.
I think Karl has a point, as per usual. I think we should have kept the Grammar Schools and Trade Schools, so people can do what they are better suited to. The only problem is that learning Trades is synonymous with FAILING school. I went to comprehensive school and I don't know any trade skills, nor do I remember the English and History that I was taught.
Thats only because we value learning more highly than bins and sewage. Designing a bin van or a sewage system needs more brains get paid more than just chuvking the bins in. But being a council bin man used to be a good solid job with a pay ride every few years and at the end of it you'd probably be the senior manager and on a decent wage you could work your way up start in the back room doing something menial and learn the job so well you could move up a level. At some point we let all the senior bin men master plumbers go home and now we have young lads that haven't a clue and want to make as much as they can and no pride in their work nó care cos theres no heirarchy and the bin bussiness will probably not be in existence when they réire. I remember hearing people talk when I was younger about how somone got a job as a bin man and hed be sorted for life from it. Not the same now all my generation went into it computers and then all that fell through they had to become brewers of organic ale and event consultants and other useless twatting jobs that to most people means nothing. Real people need bin men and plumbers. Not financial network management managers.
He is trying to be funny. He’s been trying to Be funny since Mid 2002 when Ricky and Steve knew they had a winning formula. Don’t forget Karl has made a career off of this. Does he naturally have a funny And interesting personality? Absolutely. Does he add an extra 20%? Of course. It would be impossible for him not to. People feed off the energy that others give them. He knows why people laugh.
The interviewers are good mates of Karl, it makes them laugh because it probably seems absurd to them that he likes to dance given how much history Karl has with these two lads. These guys are great with Karl
He's absolutely spot on with different levels of intelligence. That's why most kids nowadays fall for the allusion of thinking a degree makes you intelligent and go and get one in media studies and do nothing whatsoever with it!
he is so right about if everyone was a genius who would empty the bins.....so ridiculous the presenters couldnt even offer an opinion cos they are scared of offending someone
Irielion He’s talked many times over the years on XFM, the podcasts and the TV shows he’s done about dancing in the past, there’s even a compilation of him dancing, I wasn’t even having a go at him, it was how the presenters were reacting to him so get off your high horse 👍 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PGKfz0DG-dQ.html
Even low he seid he hates dancing on idiot abroad..when he ran from the happy bus in Palestine..I hate dancing I don't even dance at weddings so I'm not gonna start on the road ..his exact words more or less
He's certainly not daft, he has a very interesting mind in my opinion. A lot of sensible and wise insights! Isn't a very book smart / highly educated man, which is great - he wouldn't be as funny if he was.
