I've heard this clip a hundred times and just realised for the first time that Ricky's "blind" answer doesn't work because Karl clearly states there's nothing wrong with him at 4:15
@@oBuLLzEyEo1013he doesn’t laugh much, Rick gets him a few times but he outsmarts Rick here and Steve calls Rick out about it, after all the years of the podcast I assume Karl was just over the moon 😂
aww, the old xfm radio show is (for me) by far the greatest listen. When you hear all the stories for the first time and you are also witnessing great friendships develop.
I don't know what's more amazing in this clip; the fact Steve actually sided with Karl or Ricky being stunned in disbelief that he was wrong and only making a sound by laughing as Karl started to celebrate.
They’re all mates but I think I can hear a “sore loser” in Ricky’s voice at one point. It’s probably all just joking around but I think it’s really there.
Never understood the sport of taking the piss out of Pilkington who is devoid of both ego and a inflated self image and is what he is, the guy is blessed albeit by the fairies but blessed nevertheless.
Karl predicted Google Glass, the Augmented Reality Glasses. Considering he specifically explained them years before they or the technology to create them existed, I am to this day amazed. Maybe one day we will be putting little mops on cats feet.
2:12 Karl's classic little "meeuughhh" that crops up from time to time (aka whenever his crap logic is exposed by Ricky or Steve and he knows he can't defend whatever drivel he's saying)
They always make Karl out to be stupid but he's often right. In one episode they did about the moon they were laughing at karl for saying the same side of the moon always faces the earth but he is right the moon is orbitaly locked to the earth so the same side does always face us
People don't give Karl enough credit. They mistake his lack of knowledge (mostly a result of missing a lot of school as a kid) for lack of intelligence. I'm not saying he's notably smart or anything, just that he's not stupid. I mean, I'm sure you'd have to have some sort of intelligence to be the producer of Ricky Gervais's radio show on a big station.
@@reinforcedpenisstem Considering it was explained in the video that he came up with all of them, I could only assume you were doubting he was too smart to come up with it himself.
The falling wall scene in the movie to the inevitable replies i'm likely to get, Germans behind the wall & Tom and his boys behind the other wall, ironically because of a helmet placement in the scene, our helmets were shockingly bad in ww2 they looked like they were again ironically there to protect our grandfathers from falling bricks ^o^ . Our modern helmets are still based on the German ww2 helmets, of! why are they wearing those dumb flat helmets we aint firing bricks at em
Ricky deserve credit for his work on the office. However, his standup is not funny, he's an arrogant militant atheist type and just an unsavory character. Karl is a likable guy, complete opposite of Ricky and naturally funny.
I thought there was a massive hail storm with ice the size of tennis balls it happens here and I’d keep me hat on and I work on building sites every day
It's more to do with the fact these types of exercises are largely pointless and have trivial small print that makes it near impossible to work out exactly right. But yeah he's almost certainly not as smart as he thinks.
He has definitely always played up his perceived character. I’ve been listening since the original XFM shows in like 2005 or whenever it was and you can tell he isn’t acting but he does play up himself a bit
