A look at the campaign reward for March/April 2024. Unfortunately, I don't think it's a very good reward, because the ship is, at best, mediocre. #wowslegends #xarkun
Yep. I don’t understand it. The ability to stealth torp is kind of the core design philosophy of this ship on PC, so… I don’t know. It was just lost in translation.
I don't disagree that its not that good. Its tough to play. This ship is at home trying to bully cruisers and DDs. sonar is nice to have for anti smoke work. Helfirch Geparette and Fraser. fully packed. Movement speed is about the only worthwhile stat to invest in. Helfrich maxed out is 3% and also gets a perk for 5% Fraser is 3% Geparette is about 5% speed Battle booster is another 3% good luck out there!
Sounds like we both agreed on this one. I waited all week, playing her more and more to try and find the silver lining. But with the nerfed torpedoes and concealment, its just worse than Prinz Rupperecht...even though the stats are strong! Mid HP, decent armor, good AA DPS, cool torps, decent DPM....it doesnt perform
@@Xarkun I think I will play Schröder instead. Copying from my original comment: "I think Des Moines is a good ship, but Derka seems to think Zao is the best pick because it has good HE and Shima torps. The grind just seems very long for it." What do you think, Derka?
Viribus Unitas is the T4 battleship. I play it sometimes for the weekly premium supplies. I'll be getting the Karl but hopefully we'll get more commander options and ships for this line. Nice double strike👍
With respect...I have to say I love the ship...she is a Tier 8 Odin...good armor, decent speed, great torps...meh guns...but the reload speed makes up for it...been running her as a kinda-brawler...she will not get the damage or carry a game...but the fun factor, especially when you are in close quarters makes it worthwhile...fire lots o' HE, enjoy some good stealth..I have mine at 12km concealment too with Kondo...very enjoyable ship..thanks for the great review
This ship is a perfect reminder for everyone that the battle pass is the best value for doubloons spent in the game, because the rewards are worth it even when the ship at the end is total garbage. XD
WG seem to have this knack for making 12 gun bbs either have accuracy (us t7 to 8bbs) with garbage reload or like the Germans with Brandenburg and kurfurst quick reload for 12 guns but garbage accuracy🤷
Better how? Because Des Moines has really good radar, for example. So it is much better in terms of utility. Zao’s whole deal is it just has a lot of accurate HE and it’s a damage dealing kiting cruiser, whereas Des Moines is more an island hugging cruiser that uses radar to keep DDs away from objectives. I don’t think they’re directly comparable because of that. So I would say get both eventually, but Des Moines might be the way to go first if what you’re after is an overall really strong cruiser.
@@Xarkun Better for your time. I think Des Moines is a good ship, but Derka seems to think Zao is the best pick because it has good HE and Shima torps. The grind just seems very long for it.
Another swing and miss from wargaming. It’s like they do not want too much variation between ships. And being able to shoot past caps upon spawning in makes it feel like you’re in a shooting gallery.
I just don’t know what their design philosophy for this ship even was in development. They’re taking it from PC where it has the unique gimmick of being a very stealthy battleship that can stealth torpedo. And yet they put it in Legends with stats that make that impossible, which I think ruins the whole identity of the ship and results it being mediocre.
2 consecutive campaigns with pve access and 2 consecutive mediocre to bad ships...i think WeeGee is just giving out trash to players who like to play pve...already sold the Schorder coz nothing works...not the secondaries that just shoot in the sky, nor the main guns...
I find it pretty annoying when people look at the caliber of the main battery and see the 305s, and automatically say it's bad or mediocre. If you look to say it doesn't citadel bbs, then i feel you're not playing it right. Then you'll be disappointed every time. When i have low caliber guns, i just shoot superstructure and focus more on cruisers and dds. But that's just my way of thinking. Then you could possibly sling HE like with the Anhalt
I think you might’ve missed the part where I said I’ve tried building it three ways from Sunday in terms of the main guns, and the issue is their complete lack of accuracy. Not their size. Same issue with the secondaries. The guns are just not good.
